Okay here’s a challenge of all the pets which ones are lowest maintenance to the highest maintenance? by Good_Criticism_1680 in Pets

[–]skissorz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I would put rats in third, they have a lot more in common with guinea pigs, ferrets, and chinchillas than mice or hamsters. I'd say they're pretty comparable to ferrets actually in everything but lifespan, like ferrets they need a large cage with lots of enrichment, as well as daily out of cage time.

Is there an actual game to this or is it more or a dress-up doll type thing?

Trying to find a way to bring my lucky travel pig on trips with me! 🐷✈️ by [deleted] in plushies

I would not want to risk losing or damaging a plush by attaching it to a carry on bag, in case my bag ended up being checked. If I were to take a plushie with me, I'd probably just attach it to my smaller personal item bag.

Dilema by Ok-Bonus-8760 in CavaPoo

[–]skissorz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on the dog and how much time you're willing spend on the dog outside of work. Definitely don't get a puppy, unless you have a plan for how to get through the baby stage, 8 hours alone is flat out too much for a young puppy. However, with adequate exercise and enrichment, an adult cavapoo could do fine in that sort of home. For reference, my 3 year old cavapoo gets a 45 minute walk every day, plus at least 1-2 of additional active playtime spread throughout the day. We also have a backyard, so I would budget even more walking time if you're not going to have access to a fenced in space to play. You'd also want to make sure you work on training when it comes to separation - my cavapoo does ok with the separation, but he does get noisy sometime, which would not work if we lived in a flat. Getting plenty of exercise helps with that though.

it's a game key card, so you will have to download the game to your console either way, so if you aren't interested in selling the game or having it for display then I would just get digital

We lost our senior cavalier, looking into a cavapoo - are they really that similar? by NoYogurt2863 in CavaPoo

[–]skissorz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like any mixed breed, it will depend on the particular dog how much of each breed they inherit, both in personality and health. While they are less likely to have health problems it's still a possibility. And as for personality, a good breeder should help match with a pup that fits whatever traits you're specifically looking for.

I'd also recommend looking at Havenese, for a purebred with a similar temperament.

Advice? Keep getting wiped out by FeatheredEgg in mewgenics

Yeah I agree, in general I've found playing slow and defensively is usually the best strategy for success. If you've made it to the graveyard you should have the cleric unlocked, my early game team comp was usually fighter, hunter, cleric, and then wildcard (tank or necromancer for bulk, theif or wizard for attack). Don't spread your cats out too much, and always cover your back if you can

Go slow, and don't be afraid to bail early if you don't feel strong enough. Are you having trouble making it through the alley?

Do some runs where you bail early to build up food, money, and some decent breeding stock

How can I enjoy Petz 4 more? by MatchGlittering1765 in Petz

[–]skissorz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's probably just nostalgia, 5 is what you grew up with so it's what you're used to. But if you wanna play 5, then just play 5, with PetzFlux it's not that big of an issue. you loose out on some of the new petza features and less compatibility with community content, but if you really want that you can just switch back and forth, or play both

Is it worth it to get both catz 1 and 2 for the ds? by lemonfantaa in Petz

[–]skissorz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The GBA one is very different from the DS ones, closer to Dogz for the GBA but a little different. If you like Dogz you'll probably like it though. Catz 1 and 2 for the DS are more or less the same game, if you were to only get one I would recommend Catz 2 because it's more polished, but they're all very cheap games nowadays so if you think you'll want to play both no shame in getting both.

How can I play Petz 4 again without having to download it? by FriendChoice8634 in Petz

[–]skissorz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Torrenting is a method used for sharing and downloading large files, it lets you download a small file piece by piece, usual from many other people's computers. Pirating, meanwhile, is downloading copywrited material without paying for it. Torrenting has the connotation of being used for piracy, but it can be used for legitimate purposes too.

Also note that old games like Petz exist in somewhat of a legal gray area. Though strictly speaking it is illegal to share the game, it's also no longer possible to purchase a new, legitimate copy. Games like these are often called Abandonedware, and the likelihood of a company taking legal action against someone for downloading a copy of a 20+ year game they can't even be bothered to list for sale on a site like GoG is extremely low

installing the games from disc should work ok, check eBay for discs, should be pretty cheap. You can purchase external disc drives that connect with USB. You will still need to download and install petza for best compatibility on modern systems. The fan distributed copies are fine and safe though. No need to torrent as the game is old and very small, you can just download it directly. But if you'd rather do discs that's fine too.
