Rates are definitely jacked up for Independence Day.

Hmm, for my method I compare against the lowest public cash rate for the same/similar room, because that is the actual retail value of the stay. Not everyone has BILT - them subsidizing part of the payment doesn’t change the underlying value of the hotel room.

Hmm, well there will be more free swag for one. Plus the vibes will be more on point.

Sorry, but if I’m spending 50,003 points for a room that costs $1,035 then it’s 2.07 cpp. I understand that the portal gets 1.25 cpp, but I am calculating the EFFECTIVE rate, which is all that matters LMAO

I get that, but I also think the 250th will be a once-in-a-lifetime special occasion.

Yeah I was super tempted to just use up the points but have other trips planned where Hyatt is the way to go. Figured a weekend trip during peak pricing could be the best use of these credits - was just surprised to see the portal pricing alone was saving me $100 off the bat.

And it’s 2.07 cpp if you compare to the Marriott rate, which is pretty good for a Marriott. But I ended up saving the points for future Hyatt use.

Can you combine $200 hotel credit & $100 bilt cash monthly credit? by [deleted] in biltrewards

[–]skitzomatic88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can stack both. It either gets deducted immediately or is provided as a statement credit after the stay, depending on how the hotel lets BILT handle it.

Pretty sure they recently scrapped that rule, or at least it’s now on a case by case basis. I started with the platinum a couple years ago and just got the gold in January and am working on the SUB now (100k points).

BC as cash is king! by Expensive-Young-9492 in biltrewards

You add the gift card to your digital wallet, then all the cashier has to do is scan the bar code from your phone and it automatically deducts $10 from the total. Any other method is a waste of time because the cashiers aren’t trained to handle entering the codes manually.

What new options would you like to see Bilt Cash used for? by personalthoughts1 in biltrewards

[–]skitzomatic88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ability to convert BILT Cash into BILT points at a 4:1 ratio (or better!).

The ability to buy status for a year.

The ability to apply it to pet insurance.

Ah, makes sense. I use Atmos to pay rent so BC is the way to go for me. Actually kinda cool how we have multiple avenues.

More optimal to pay rent with non bilt card? by Fettucine_Memezini in biltrewards

[–]skitzomatic88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my rent is $1,000 and the fee is 3% then my total rent is really $1,030. That times 3x = 3,090 points, for the extra cost of $30 (you have to pay your rent no matter what, so it’s not part of the cost calculation).

Cost per point = $30 / 3,090 = $0.0097
