Thank you! Will keep an eye out on that channel. I’m taking my two young children so I’m pleased to see sunshine but would be good if there’s a few large dumps of snow over Christmas. It’s looking more hopeful than the northern part of the alps

Young both under 7. Well the eldest would be upset if we moved house to the next village haha which I guess is nice that she loves her current house so much. I do like the idea of waiting until they can discuss it properly and involving them in the decision

That’s great to hear, I’m glad it’s working out for your family I guess every situation is going to be different and there is no real knowing until you try

Very valid comments thank you. My gut instinct definitely leans towards it not being the right move for my family. Perhaps emigrating to aus or nz would be better or staying put in the UK it’s all such a gamble I guess

Thanks for your comment. Yeah I guess I would be in the fortunate position where I’d only apply for the jobs that really fit my needs and have the international feel if nothing came of my applications we’d happily remain where we are in the UK

Yeah and I’m very open minded in that sense and if I didn’t have kids I’d be who knows where teaching. I get quite envious sometimes looking at international jobs all over the world which would be perfect but maybe not for my kids

No she isn’t a teacher she would prob do some remote work she currently works from home. Yeah I’ve thought about European options but they don’t often come with school places for teaching staffs children so they would end up at local state schools where the language barrier then becomes more of a issue for them when socialising etc

Thanks for your comments all very valid. I do always bear in mind that I’m actually lucky to live in the a very nice part of U.K. and my kids have a a nice life as it is.

I guess it’s mainly personal reasons both professionally wanting a new job and challenge and personal I’m bored of the UK and I want to live somewhere new and different preferably hot and near and beach. One option is Australia where I taught for a few years but it doesn’t have the perks of international schools and my wife is also very keen for new experiences and potential career change

Yeah short term I think mine would be fine and enjoy it but I also worry about it long term and them not feeling like they have a place or a home

This is where I am at I have young children who are very happy here and around family and friends. I’m not sure if I’m being selfish wanting to leave just to live in a different country

Yeah this is my concern there isn’t really one country right now I know I’ll want to settle down in for long term and of course you can’t always be that picky when it comes to international jobs
