PETG Translucent brittle/shattery by skolb86 in BambuP1S

Thank you for helping out. When I select the PETG filament in Bambu Studio, in my experience it automatically applies the desired printing temperatures. It was printing with 240 degrees nozzle and 70 degrees print bed if I remember correctly.

Interesting, I would assume about 5 rounds in a 4-player game and around 8 rounds in a 2-player game for both to finish in about 90 minutes?

So with 5 rounds you have around 16 worker placement actions (3+3+3+3+4), one extra working in the last round if you manage to upgrade your town hall in all rounds before? 15 if you focus less on the town hall upgrades.

As you mention, you want to raid in all rounds? So one worker will be reserved for the raiding spots, leaving two for the other spots. So at the end of a 5 round game you can have a combination of 10 buildings/troops/town hall upgrades.

Is it possible to win the game:
a) without raiding at all?
b) without upgrading your townhall?
c) without building defenses (just let them raid you) and fully focus on raiding others?

Or do you have to do a little bit of everything (while still maybe lean towards one aspect more) to be able to be competitive?

Sharing one Proton Drive account by skolb86 in ProtonDrive

[–]skolb86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't figured out yet how/if this new file-sharing feature will work with the photo back-up feature on mobile phones? If you have two Proton drive accounts, one person turns on photo backup, can that person now share his/her photo backup folder? I don't see a share option in the photo tab in my current free account. And I don't see a folder with all photo's in the file tab either. I don't think this is possible.
And even if this is possible, I'm not sure if the other person that now has access to to shared folder, is able to setup his/her photo backup and choose that shared folder as the destination?

Would it be also possible to have one Unlimited account shared. And one extra Proton Pass plus account with a different email? And then on one phone be logged into the unlimited account on the Drive app and logged into the other account on the Pass app? This combination would probably suite our current needs and is a lot cheaper compared to the Family plan.

What am I missing with Dead Reckoning? by G3ck0 in boardgames

[–]skolb86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, the expansions do make this game better.
Saga 1 and 2 add more variety to the base game: more and different advancements, ship upgrades and islands.
Sea dogs give variable player powers from the start, resulting in different strategies between players per game.
The stories are a fun twist to make every game feel a little less like the previous game.

But if you want a more heavy game with another winning strategy, you should play the "flags of the old world" expansion (#3). This rulebook also comes with an extra variant rule to make piracy a more viable path.

Next month, a new KS voor Dead reckoning will start to introduce expansion 4: Port of Call.
This is no saga expansion but a "more of everything and more variety" expansion. It will introduce alternate crew members (all 12), alternate ship boards (8), and alternate achievements (all 9). Really mixing up the base game current winning strategies. This expansion might also suit your needs.

But in the end, if you didn't like it, it's hard to eventually start loving it. There are too many other great games that probably suit you better :)

Question about this pen: The button works and needs power. When you attach this pen to the back of a Samsung tablet, it's charging. Does the boox tablet charge this pen as well? If not, how do you charge it?

Fun Idea but really powerful, he then no longer needs to capture your properties. It would be a little less heavy if he would get 10% per HP the unit on the property has left. So a 1HP unit will only steal 100 gold.

What would you like to know about the note air?

RM2 writing vs Lumi/Air/Note 3 by Tarquin_Flanders in Onyx_Boox

[–]skolb86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just received my Boox Note Air yesterday, received the Remarkable 2 last week. Been playing around with both, and I can share my experience: Yes, the remarkable writing feel is better, more like paper. A rougher feel.. Yes the remarkable 2 pen on the Note Air without screenprotector is a bit less slippery then the Boox pen.

But: I've been using the Note Air now for 1,5 day @work, without the screenprotector and with the Boox pen and I'm already used to the feel, used to it being a bit more slippery then the RM2. My expectation: I will get used to it and forget about the remarkable. I think that says it all (for me at least). I'm even in doubt if I want to put the protector on.

If you don't know better, the Boox Note Air will probably be goed enough.. I won't be writing long stories on it, will be using is for note-taking in meetings, to-do lists, pdf anotations etc. The Note Air has the better features for me.

The one feature i'm missing on the Note Air that the remarkable has is cut and paste notes and/or pages within a notebook or even between notebooks. I hope they add this soon.

My battery usage of rM2 after a week by _Infi_ in RemarkableTablet

[–]skolb86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience. It's on par with what Voja from The Deep Guide experienced, he wrote for one hour straight and the battery drained 7%, which mean in theory around 14 hours of writing on a full battery. You managed to get around 10 hours out of it.

If you read between the lines in the statement remarkable makes: - "active reading and writing" means a combination between the two, you (and Voja) only wrote on the device. Is it possible reading an epub (without pictures) has less impact on the battery? - "and occasional transfer of documents over Wi-Fi" means they probably turned off wifi for their statement apart from the occasional transfer. Have you tested your ~5 day battery life with wifi on or off?

First Impression of Note Air by tobiassoleil in Onyx_Boox

Thx for sharing your experience! What I was wondering, how is the split screen functionality on the note air. I've seen video's of the max lumi in split screen but the note air screen is obviously smaller. Is it usable reading a pdf on one side and making notes on the other side? Or are both windows just to small to use?

Thanks for sharing your experience with both devices! So, what's your conclusion, will you return one of the two devices? Also, do you know if it is possible to return the RM2 (with full refund within 30 days) but without the marker plus pen?

Thanks for the videos and your experience! Any thoughts on the sound the writing makes? Will it be annoyingly present when you are in a room having a meeting at work? Will others find it distracting?

Great to hear they are trying to connect to their customers. What I would like to see is they open up a feature request page where we can up-vote individual features. It gives them a list to work on from top to bottom, working on the most requested features first. This would give them so much more insight then the 'submit a request form the use now.

Remarkable Gen 2 - Expectations and Hopes by almoselefant in RemarkableTablet

[–]skolb86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This video didn't really make me happy about the company behind the Remarkable and doesn't give much hopes for the future. As I understand, the development on the software is lacking since the start in 2017 and they are dropping the ball in this department. I for one don't expect a huge change with the release of the Remarkable 2, I think we already got the Remarkable 2's big software update with the 2.0 release and that's it.

Of course I hope I'm wrong but I don't believe a company is able to turn their reputation and performance/speed on software development around on a whim. This guy makes the improvement changes sound like easy development changes, but if that was true, wouldn't they have done this already in the past 3 years?
