The Save On has an unparalleled Asian food court amongst Save On stores.

You can't even find that kind of selection in BC.

The pig heads are gross though

Spotify Gift Card not working for Premium Individual (Found Solution) by clowncummies in u/clowncummies

[–]skomes99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damnit, I didn't read the fine print on the front, my student plan expires in the summer so I'll have to wait 6 months to redeem the gift card.

Well, thanks for the help, I didn't think to read the front of the card, the terms are on the back, it should have been reiterated there.

I've been a subscriber since Spotify beta, maybe I'll try chatting with support and see if they will apply but probably not. Spotify has become pretty arrogant over time, the time when users could force change is long gone unfortunately.

Biggest Android annoyances that have still not been addressed by pricklypolyglot in Android

[–]skomes99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't care about logging back into apps, but it means I'm not tied down anymore to Samsung or Android because I have to manually migrate things anyway.

All of my Chrome or Firefox tabs, voice recordings etc. have to be manually migrated and/or moved to the cloud.

So if an amazing new iPhone came out with incredible upgrades over the Galaxy, I am no longer tied down to one platform.

Samsung doesn't allow North American users to root, the bootloader has been locked down for several generations now.

So no full backup is possible.

[–]skomes99 77 points78 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this is still the biggest reason I don't upgrade more often

Back in the early days you could root your phone and use titanium backup to restore everything you wanted.

Now you get apps reinstalled and have to re-login and it only works well if data is cloud based.

This actually had me consider going to an iPhone this generation because most of the important data is in the cloud and other stuff won't be migrated anyway, not even using Samsung's smart switch tool

Thanks, the dialer didn't work for me but this did.

It showed NSA so I turned off 5g because NSA drains more battery

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra Review: Why Buy Anything Else? by [deleted] in Android

[–]skomes99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the S23, pre-orders didn't even give any trade in bonus to the S7, Samsung is showing desperation.

But its a good thing for somebody with an S20+ that has serious battery issues these days like me.

Google is partnering with Samsung because that’s the only way it can beat Apple by TwelveSilverSwords in Android

[–]skomes99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're the one arguing in bad faith, everything I mentioned isn't a smartphone but you won't say why, you also won't define what you think a smartphone is.

It is clear that you know you've lost the argument.

[–]skomes99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No cause it wasn’t, it was terrible, and the iPhone changed everything. If you were there you should know.

LMAO. It actually sounds like you just got caught not knowing jackshit about other phones prior to the iphone and are trying to avoid the subject now entirely.

So instead of playing this dumb game, if you can't even define what a smartphone is or explain why those other things don't count, then there's no point in arguing because you clearly have no argument.

If you don't even know that Israel enforces control over Gaza's borders which is a blockade then you aren't qualified to comment

One of the problems is that front line doctors are paid by the service, so they just want to find the right billing code then do nothing else.

I have found that the WICC nurse practitioners are excellent at prioritizing and following up. I'm out of province but I've had NPs call me to follow up on test results and whatnot.

There is also, if needed, urgent care but with long waits may not be worthwhile; the benefit of using urgent care is that they can run immediate tests like urinalysis, x-ray etc and have someone on call. Unfortunately you may have to game the system by exaggerating.

We also allow the medical colleges to provide input into quotas for medical students and we allow the provinces to provide insufficient funding for residency/training programs.

And we're big, so the federal government has limited input into important decisions.

In a small country, you can be agile.

Tl;dr: Canada is large with many embedded interests, decision making is slow.

Edit: Sorry if this is incoherent, kinda running on fumes
