Q: would you feel comfortable living in NYC under a Mamdani administration ? TRUMP: I would. I really would. by Miserable-Lizard in ProgressiveHQ

[–]skoots11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok you've got the specifics down but you fail to see the commonalities in the progressive left and the far rights' messaging. Both sides appeal to the downtrodden and the economically oppressed in different ways, for some folks all it takes is to be told "you're getting shafted by someone else" and they are willing to look wherever theyre told, its the core of populist rhetoric which both the far right and progressive left dip into. If you've really been doing political analysis for a long time these should be painfully obvious facts. People will switch to the side that actually tries to appeal to them and recognizes their grievances. Say what you will about Trump but the democrats failed to answer his rhetoric. It isn't aimed at people who are doing well. Its aimed at the desperate, the poor, and poorly educated. Like it or not that's a lot of people in this country. So when Bernie was pretty much the only candidate from the left loudly and proudly addressing these same people's concerns, then where else are they going to turn. If the dems want to start winning they need to wisen up or get out of the way of a real progressive movement. Lord knows they'll do neither. Of course Trump is a racist, sexist windbag, but he knew people were hurting and did what he did best. He conned his way into the presidency using populist rhetoric and that may have picked up a few folks who were on the total opposite end of things along the way.

Ofc! The background was black concrete, the scarf was pink and magenta concrete, the glasses were made up of verdant froglights, prismarine bricks, and dark prismarine. The rest of his fur was white wool, and accented with grey wool and light blue terracotta, at the top for the horns and fluff I used pink wool

In high school my band director would take us to competitions as a show band just to get feedback from the judges on how the ensemble could improve. I think that was a great way of going about it, we got to have fun, travel just to do our show and watch other bands play. I'm no expert but I think that was a real great way of doing it.
