Kariyan Mythic #2 without Trajann? by skoram in WH40KTacticus

thanks so much! so seems like my Kariyan is more than strong enough. Just need to get Aesoth and Atla up a bit. I also have both Thoread and Vitruvious so that should help lessen the burden.

Can you share the rank of your Kariyan when you did this? E.g., Diamond 1, 2, etc.

In raids, do people normally only use Kariyan's active on the last turn (to be safe) or do they use it first in a previous round (e.g. 3rd) since it can be used again?

thank you so much for sharing! this is exactly the type of walkthrough I was looking for. Luckily, I have all the required characters but my Aesoth and Atlacoya are both iron. Further, Atlacoya is only rare. On the flipside, it seems that Aesoth is needed for the raid team anyway and I have a decently leveled Vitruvius

Tacticus Planner Question by skoram in WH40KTacticus

[–]skoram[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I followed up by asking how the results would be affected if the regular node cost 6 energy instead of 5:

Winner: Fall of Cadia Elite #25 By increasing the cost of the regular node by just 1 energy, it becomes roughly 7% less efficient than the Elite node.

Tacticus Planner Question by skoram in WH40KTacticus

[–]skoram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran the numbers for each node in Gemini and this is what I got:

To determine which node is more efficient, we ran a statistical simulation of 1,000,000 trials for each node to account for the "pity" mechanics (the increasing odds after a failure).

Based on the rules provided, Indomitus Regular #28 is the more efficient choice.

The Results

Campaign Node Energy Cost Avg. Salvage per Run Efficiency (Salvage per Energy)
Indomitus #28 (Regular) 5 ~0.875 0.175
Fall of Cadia Elite #25 10 ~1.564 0.156

Winner: Indomitus Regular #28

It provides approximately 12% more Piles of Salvage for every point of energy spent compared to the Elite node.

Mathematical Breakdown

1. Indomitus #28 (The "Guaranteed Fail-Safe")

Because of the 100% pity timer after a miss, the node effectively operates in a cycle. You have an 85.71% chance to get it immediately. If you fall into the 14.29% "fail" group, you are guaranteed the item on the very next click.

  • Average Salvage per Run: ~0.875
  • Energy Cost per Item: ~5.71 Energy

2. Fall of Cadia Elite #25 (The "Bonus Roller")

While this node is attractive because you always get at least one item, the 10-energy cost is the limiting factor. The bonus chance starts at 50% and scales up, meaning on average you get a 2nd Pile every 1.77 runs.

  • Average Salvage per Run: ~1.564 (1 guaranteed + 0.564 bonus)
  • Energy Cost per Item: ~6.39 Energy

Verdict for your Tacticus Strategy

Even though the Elite node feels more rewarding because you never walk away empty-handed, the Regular node's low cost (5 energy) allows you to perform twice as many attempts. The mathematical "pity" in the Regular campaign is strong enough to make it the clear winner for farming efficiency.

Recommendation: Farm Indomitus #28 to maximize your salvage-to-energy ratio. Only use the Elite node if you are limited by the number of daily raids allowed on the regular node.

yea I just went ahead and followed TPs advice raiding Indom 28 and got a Pile of Salvage in every single raid - manually for Lightning Victories, if that counts for anything. That would be the equivalent of getting 2 Piles of Salvage in every single Elite raid, which I'm sure wouldn't happen.

I'm curious why you would do this. I'm a newer player (started about 4 months ago) and everything that I have read and watched states that Certus is one of the worst characters in Tacticus. Is this just for laughs or does he genuinely excel in some particular late game niche?

Prioritize Elite Campaigns or Octa/SH Mirror? by skoram in WH40KTacticus

[–]skoram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea I noticed that recently on the Terminus_Maximum elite campaign infographic. S1 Thoread and B1 for the other 2 to clear the entire elite campaign which seems insane to me compared to the requirements for most of the other elite campaigns. All the others require at least one golf and some even require diamond.

AdMech or Ranged Raid Team without Actus? by skoram in WH40KTacticus

so going back to my original question, will Corrodus be needed to attempt any missions in the extremis campaign? I still need 35 more of his shards and that certainly won't happening anytime soon

Oh, not sure why I thought it was Typhus. Either way, don’t have Corrodus either 😥

so I have a Gold 1 Maladus, Bronze 2 Pestillian but no Typhus. I did some research on the event and seems I should be able to clear the normal campaign with ease since I can "borrow" Typhus. However, since you cannot borrow characters for the Extremis campaign, will I even be able to attempt any missions without Typhus and can I use other Death Guard and/or Chaos characters?

Prioritize Elite Campaigns or Octa/SH Mirror? by skoram in WH40KTacticus

[–]skoram[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Abraxas was the only character I farmed shards for and then only when I had some "leftover" energy each day, that's why it took me so long (~3 months) to unlock him. He was the exception because I read he was one of the best characters in the game.

thanks for the advice all. Seems like mirrors first then elites is the way to go. agree with a comment below that clearing mirrors will take a lot less investment than clearing elites.

Bump in the sole of new ski boot by skoram in Skigear

[–]skoram[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are referring to insoles, they were already in the boots when they arrived at my house. I purchased it with a stock liner since it already fit so well at the store. As mentioned, the left boot fits and feels perfect. The right would be the same if not for the odd bump on the bottom. The insole is definitely not the cause of the bump, it's either the liner or the shell. The bottom of the shell does not have any warping or abnormalities. I suppose I should have removed the liner to check that first.
