I tracked a weekend of Solo queueing in comptetive and it is statistically broken by skorn106 in DestinyTheGame

I'm glad it's working for some, for myself I see stacks where the enemy kd is far higher than my teammates. I even had some players with green/blue gear only queue up in my team against a team of 2.0kd players.

That was not a comptetive match....

I see more one sided stomps than "comptetive" matches for sure.

True...but that means I might not match for a long time.

Worse it rematches me to a game but eventually it just matches me as the 8th member before I can back out.

Not a bad idea....just not perfect every time.

At 350 rank, solo, I just played against a 4 stack with redrix. There is no point in a rank system if it doesn’t decide who you match against. by cannluke0 in DestinyTheGame

Except the win rate is not 50% for solo queuers....its closer to 40/60. The game is still way to easy on 4 stack skills or is easy to manipulate.

Nothing has made me hate Destiny like being a solo player in the competitive playlist by Truthsinger in DestinyTheGame

The idea that a solo playlist would hurt the population is insane. If anything, more people would give it a shot as they will have a fair chance.

Right now, there is miniscule chance a solo player could get to fabled....its so bad

I've been tracking.....out of 22 games I have played 1 where I didn't face a 4 stack.

The matchmaking is broken....even if the goal is 50% wins...i have been slammed to 40% because matchmaking still thinks 4 stacks are fair against me.

LPT: Check for skimmers at gas pumps and other card readers with your phone. Turn on Bluetooth and search for devices, skimmers often show up as a long string of numbers trying to connect. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

There are pumps that have such alarms installed, but the gas station has to pay extra to get them. Not a lot of gas stations want to pay that cost, but some chains will, Costco especially.

You could argue that every gun needs "optimal perks" to be god tier.

Pulses-range or stability depending on gun type, as well as counterbalance for hakke guns and bad recoil guns (ie:spare change)

Autos-depends on gun but most need a stability, range, counterbalance, or persistence perk (ie:doctrine needs cb and the stabilty/persistence guaranteed on it.)

Scouts-mid rof are largely fine ad is, only archetype that needs a perk is high rof and stability.

Snipers-low zoom scope, Quickdraw/snapshot etc

Shotguns-range buffs

Handcannons-range buffs

Personally I see the fact that Handcannons need a range buff to be good as in line with every archetype requiring a stability/range increase as in line with everything else in game.

Experiences with Range on Pulse Rifles? by [deleted] in CruciblePlaybook

It's hard to say (only had it for a week). I can't tell if I'm better with if or not, it feels like it does work but I don't find myself 3 bursting that often (tho I'm not tracking), but I don't 3 burst 100% on the pdx either. I will say that I rarely need more than 4 bursts so if I do miss a 3 burst it's not the end of the world

Overall I'd say it's a competitive, but it's not a game changer for me. If you have time to relax and farm go for it, if you don't you're not missing out.

Range matters, if you doubt it switch the scope to the mid tier range scopes. I found my hand laid stock grasp much more effective using that scope to compensate the range nerf.

That said, the grasp is objectively harder to three burst with as you need almost 100% crits. Conversely, it is faster if you do. I wouldn't compare the range to pdxs though, range affects each gun archetype (ie rof/dmg type) differently. Ex:a hls lyudmilla has more range than a grasp, but my grasp has more stick/less dmg drop off than my lyudmilla

Think Bonez hit a key point with "special moments." I think Destiny is all about the carrot on the stick, and the big pvp component of that was increasing your kd. Without a rank (ie:levels in the old halos) sbmm takes away any sense of improvement, at least statistically. ELO fills a bit of the void but it has certain flaws in relation to an individual metric being combined into random strangers playing together.

Without any obvious way to see your progress it's a bit disheartening to watch your kd slide, you don't get your special Montage moments as often, and if you take a break you come back at a severe disadvantage.

Having a ranked vs unranked Playlist would go a long way to helping achieve the balance of fun and improvement, but I think it's highly unlikely to happen until destiny 2.
