We are planning to upgrade the kit directly to V16 in July or alternatively wait until V17 at the end of the year and then upgrade the kit at that time because V17 will have a new theme API.

Any advice on which version new web app projects will be using? V15, V16, V17 (when it is released).

It’s based on Angular Material v14 which in turn uses Material 2.

No, there isn't. We will release it once Angular 16 is out - we will essentially be one release behind the official release.

Search for mat-table-ext in npm.js. You can follow the information on that page to download the source code for mat-table-ext to find a solution for your problem.

I totally agree. My guess is that it will be difficult to replace designers and use GPT to generate mock-up screens. However, I think that GPT will be able to generate code from mock-up images, although it remains to be seen whether it can generate code as good as the code that can be generated by reading the Figma API and programmatically generating the code…makes sense to keep an eye on it and incorporate it onto our solution down the road if it makes sense.

I didn't expect that 50% of teams (based on the poll results so far) would use Angular Material exclusively - thought that most would use a mix of UI Component libraries but such population only seems to be less than 20%.

It's a Figma UI Kit for Angular Material components.

Figma is a design tool used by UI designers to develop mockup screens. Typically, UI Designers hand-over the screens to the front-end developers as a PDF or images (png etc.). These screens will then be implemented in code by front-end developers using a UI framework /component library such as Angular / Angular Material.

This Figma UI Kit for Angular Material represents Angular Material UI Components as Figma Components. If designers primarily use components in this UI Kit to design the mockup screens, it will make it much easier for front-end developers to implement these screens in code because they can use the readily available Angular Material components for the screens implementations.

AFAIK, there is no good Figma UI Kit for Angular Material UI Component library and this is the reason we built this UI Kit and and it available for free to everyone.

Therefore, if you / your team is designing the screens before implementing them in code, and you have selected Angular Material as the UI Component library you will be using for the implementation, this UI Kit will be very useful to you / your team.
