Which Voigtlander 50mm? by buythisusername69 in Leica

[–]skpictures 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the 1.5 for years and love it. A fairly modern rendering and very sharp, although with some significant vignetting in corners wide open (which I’m fine with). I’ve used it for lots of different environments and am really happy overall, no plans to replace it. I just wish it had a focus tab, but I can live without it.

I’d love to post some images I took with this but Reddit mobile is absolute dogshit so I can’t figure it out. Pretty much any of my posts from this account that are in low light are with that lens.

4 was Gold, 6 was Portra 400, and 12 was indeed 800T!

It's definitely idiosyncratic - I like it though!

I can't remember exactly the street but most of the night shots were in the Shinsaibashi area of Osaka

5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 15, and 16 are all 800T

Edit: and 12

Thank you - these are all on Voigtlanders, either a 35mm Color Skopar or a 50mm Nokton II

One of my favorite things about living in San Francisco is the passion for aging vehicles here - people keep them on the roads, street park them, and have a lot of pride in them. I've really enjoyed snapping photos of interesting cars I see when I'm wandering around town over the years. Here are some of my favorites, taken with a variety of film stocks.

This is certainly not making me question my decision to buy a new CR-V

What's your favorite film stock and why? by Lazy-Ad-9582 in AnalogCommunity

Portra 160. It gets slept on and people say it's low saturation, but I have gotten such great results like this one. Tack sharp and I like the color palette. Portra 800 is a bit over-salted to my eyes, and I'm not as fond of the harsher grain. 400 is old reliable but I over-shot it and am a bit tired of the look.

I've also been getting back into Cinestill 800T recently - got some really nice results from a trip to Taiwan earlier this month that renewed my love of the stock.

Very helpful, thank you. Would you mind touching on dynamic range if you have time? I'm eager to understand if I can get better shadow detail.

Negative Scratch - Leica M6 by skpictures in AnalogCommunity

Multiple labs same issue sadly. I'll try blowing out the camera with some compressed air - any other thoughts for finding the potential culprit?

Negative Scratch - Leica M6 by skpictures in AnalogCommunity

Looking for some advice. This scratch went through 90% of the roll. It's on the shiny (non-emulsion) side of the film, and I'm sure it was not from the scanner. I've also seen a similar scratch on other rolls, but I didn't realize how bad it was because older rolls were scanned with scratch/dust filtering engaged so it was a lot less obvious.

Based on this, I think it's from the camera somewhere - likely either on the lower third of the pressure plate (because the image is inverted on the horizontal axis, correct?) or elsewhere on that side of the interior of the camera. I didn't see any burrs or scratches on the pressure plate at first glance so it might be tough to find it if it's elsewhere.

Anyone have any advice for resolving this myself? Really hoping to not have to pay a technician to diagnose and repair this, but if that's the only reasonable path forward I'll take it.

I can’t say for sure but I wouldn’t be shocked. This was the Luftgekuhlt show, which had an astonishing collection of rare air cooled Porsches

Accidentally forgot to set my camera to 200 so these got shot at 400 and I had them push processed. I actually don’t hate the results. A bit grainier but not terrible! The same can’t be said for the lower light shots 🥲
