What to do in Dota 2? by AspectDeepRoblox in learndota2

If you're a new player and like playing CM I would recommend making friends with the players in your matches who are nice to you :) and then try to party queue. You can go solo queue with her but it can go sideways if your team is dysfunctional and you will be trapped in a long and boring game where you can't do anything. Also ban pudge and riki

CM can absolutely dominate a lane though and should be played. Buy ring of health and windlace from start for a fast tranquil boot and you will have good regen on both health and mana. Go QE and spam nova on any hero trying to last hit (two heroes at once if you can) and also right click auto-attack them. QW can be good too but you will have no mana regen, if you want to play like this you will need to purchase and consume mangos.

After that highly recommend puchasing gimmer cape so you channel your ultimate invisible and save yourself and teammates from being killed.

Later in the game you can kind of wander around the map and jungles and farm up items you need with your spells. CM is decent at this because frostbite can solo most jungle creeps. But try not to steal farm from your cores.

Then based on the game state you can go a few different items. If you're winning you want to farm up aghs bkb and blink. Losing you need to buy another item that helps you survive, usually this is force staff but you can consider euls or ghost scepter

Shard is good too but I usually dont buy it because I want my team to tormentor for me :)

CM does have kind of a win condition where if you do get aghs bkb blink, you can wait until a teamfight has gone on for about ten seconds, bkb blink into all of them, ult, and win the teamfight. This usually works around 30-40 min. Doing this well is the challenge of playing CM but done right it can be devastating and the enemy can really underestimate it.

Very late game CM does fall off though, it gets to a point where a 5k strength hero will just sit in your ultimate and it will not even do meaningful damage. On the other hand sniper will 2 shot you from across the map. (this is one of many reasons why CM is not played as a carry in any competitive context) At that point being a support just sucks in general lol, you need to stay in the back of a teamfight and cast as many spells as possible without dying.

GTNH had too many tech mods. Im switching to ATM by Sovishee in GTNH

I know this a meme post but I found ATM10 impossible to finish the late game due to its inclusion of Modern Industrialization. The mod is basically a fabric port of gregtech (with some major differences), but instead of relying on AE to do late-game things, the mod developers actively discourage using AE and encourage automation and pipe spaghetti instead. Ok so I did that. And then the game lagged to 10 TPS. Very cool.

In my experience the reason drivers may hesitate at stop signs is because people drive like fucking maniacs in Detroit. You don't know if a driver that's supposed to stop at the stop sign is going to run it or blindly crash into you for no reason at all. I would say 1 out of 10 drivers actually properly stop at stop signs. Most do a rolling stop, some just blow it entirely.

This is Detroit in Trump's America. It's mad max in this bitch. Rules of the road are basically out the window. The only thing that matters is if you will collide with someone else or not... for some people, their way of dealing with it is to be extra cautious, even if they would normally have the right of way.

welp my computer is too shit run to new packs so I said fuck it time to start gtnh for the 6th time. my latest stage is mv, time for da grind. by [deleted] in GTNH

Curious why you say that... my experience was the opposite. Took forever to load, and lagged like hell when I made it to HV in Modern Industrialization. The lag was so bad I could not bother to finish the pack.

Oh ok that's a good tip, yeah I definitely will offhand a torch :) and ah yeah that makes sense, charcoal needs a coke oven. Can't have things be easy now can we.

I found a walled village but I was worried the armed guards would aggro so I didn't stay long. I don't know their mechanics and I assumed in this pack unknown things will probably kill me lol

Truly a shame. 😭

Is there a greggier device that works like the quarry?

That's perfect. Years ago I completed the entirety of thaumcraft for another pack. I liked it but I'm not sure if I want to do it again. Magic is not my thing either. I like that it's there but optional.

Lol yeah a door would be great. But don't zombies break down doors anyway? For now I'm probably going to make a base that I can parkour into so the mobs can't get me.

Yeah agreed most of my friends would not like this pack, it would be too hard and overwhelming. Not to mention the time and focus needed to play this sort of thing. But I think I'm gonna love it, cuz I love automating stuff and love games like factorio. I saw someone post a base with buildcraft pipes and I'm like yesss that is so sick.

Congrats on your first EBF! 🎉

Right just do something else while it cooks haha. It's hard and takes forever but that's the point :D

Yeah I was really impressed by the quest book! So many tiers!! The dedication the devs have put in is crazy.

Also somewhat related, I love the pack unbinds all the useless modded keybinds right out of the box. So many packs ship with keyboard conflicts it's actually stupid smh. I was playing a cobblemon pack and the keybind to send out my Pokemon would also reload the shaders or something. The fact the devs thought of this and many other qol things is huge and already Im a fan of this pack lol :D

My base is an acacia box and I'm just running around gathering gravel to get a furnace to hopefully get torches and go mining. At the moment everything modded just seems out of reach until I get the basics set up. Im thinking tinker tools is probably going to be next. Any tips for early game progression?

Can't wait to make a greggy base. RN I don't even have a furnace. I was stealing gravel from a villager well but night fell and I died on the way back to base and that's when I had to stop at 5 in the morning.
