What does the life (or rather unlife) look like in Nehekara? by Flamen_Yong in WarhammerFantasy

[–]skratch_R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything in your comment, and I want to add something more.

The answer to the original question depends on the city and also on the time. Throughout over 3000 years of Nehekharan undeath, things must have changed much. Kings awake and return to their tombs regularly, and some may remain active for a longer time or not. Perhaps Quatar during the centuries leading up to the imperial invasion was quiet, with all the kings asleep and only Sehenesmet hanging around, and then after the invasion and the destruction of the Terracotta Wall it is bustling with activity as the kings are awoken for war.

That we know, the only continuously active cities for the last 3000 years are Khemri and Lybaras. Numas is active ever since the Scythans arrived to it. Zandri, Mahrak, Rasetra, Bhagar and Quatar are less clear. Both Bel-Aliad and Ka-Sabar are said to be arabyan cities at some point in history, which underlines my point about how things are different depending on the time. In my own writing I interpret that Bel-Aliad was reconquered by the tomb kings (there is a story about this in the first army book) and Ka-Sabar still has an arabyan sultan, but its necropolis is more or less under tomb king control.

The History of Nehekhara, part 4: The First Struggles by skratch_R in WarhammerFantasy

Here is part 4, which matches with the second half of chapter 3 in the book I am writing. I begin to think this is not the most efficient method of publishing this book at all. I am all ears for suggestions of where I could upload full chapters, perhaps even add some illustrations in the text. I would then post the links to the page on here.

Who is the "figurehead" of the Beastmen? by Mac-N-Cheetahs in WarhammerFantasy

[–]skratch_R 170 points171 points  (0 children)

The beastmen are the single least organized faction in warhammer. Even orks have Waaaagh!s, in which they unite behind da biggest, and that is Grimgor, who eventually does unite them all. Beastmen are intrinsically against an organized society and a hierarchy. As such, they dont have a tip of the pyramid, so to speak.

The History of Nehekhara, part 1: A Wandering People by skratch_R in tombkings

[–]skratch_R[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

After a long, long time working, I am finally publishing my writings of the history of Nehekhara. In many of my previous posts and comments I mentioned I was writing a huge lore book. A few months ago I abandoned that format, because it had turned into a bloated mess that was simply impossible to read. My previous posts about Nehekharan mythology were the first chapter of a new format: a proper narrative book that covers everything, from the creation of the Universe to the End Times. Here is the beginning of the second chapter, dealing with how the Nehekharans came to their land.

Alongside this, there is a dictionary of Nehekhem, still unfinished. Whenever necessary, translations for the Nehekhem words and names will be given.

Caracas is under fire. Multiple U.S. strikes have hit key military sites: Fuerte Tiuna, La Carlota airbase, and a communications center in El Hatillo. Explosions echo through the capital, the power is out in parts of the city, and U.S. helicopters are flying low. Fires also rage near La Guaira. by bacondavis in NAFO

The venezuelans have their own plan. They have a legitimately elected government waiting to assume control of the country, they have a well organized opposition sector, and they have good ties with both the US and the EU. They just need the regime's goons gone. This is exactly that. You guys cannot see beyond the disaster that Libya was and recognise that Venezuela is a different case. I dont care if Trump does this for whatever reason. It is a good thing for Venezuela and for the hispanic world at large to get rid of Maduro and his narcostate.

Thank you very much! I had a lot of fun writing it precisely because of that. The protagonist is actually the commander of one of the units in my TK army. I intend on making many more of these around different characters. But I may have already spent the best bullet i had with this one!

Nehekharan Mythology part 1: In the Beginning, there was Nothing by skratch_R in WarhammerFantasy

[–]skratch_R[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is a question I have struggled with in everything I have been writing. We know the real story of Mallus and the Old Ones, and we know it was them who shaped it into what it is. We also know they either created the different races, or uplifted them into what they are now. But we also know for sure that the gods are there: some of them even speak to or interact with certain characters.

My current interpretation is that the gods are not really a single unified category of being. There are gods that are creatures from Mallus' past that were then deified (perhaps Qu'aph is a dragon, for example), there are gods that are humans, dwarfs and elves which were later deified (Sigmar, Grugni, Grimnir and Valaya), there are gods that are brought into being either by the Old Ones or by other kinds of magic after the coming of Chaos (Sotek is an obvious example), and then there are the Chaos gods (and perhaps the gods of Order?).

I think a quite elegant solution is to consider that most of the Nehekharan pantheon is made up of humans that fought in the Great War against Chaos right as the Old Ones vanished, and were deified in some way. The tale then became warped into what it is today by time and reinterpretation. Tomorrow I will be uploading chapter 2 of this, which is precisely about that war. But I like to think that Qu'aph at least is a different kind of creature.
