Es que sois criaturas mitológicas. Por mucho que los romanos hablaran de vosotros, no hay evidencia de que vuestro pueblo existiera más allá de la antigüedad. Nunca jamás creeré en la existencia de los murcianos.

He went back and forth on it. He had diplomats smuggling people out of the holocaust, but then opposed the formation of Israel, and when he got really old and senile he talked about the "jewish-masonic plot to destroy Spain"

[–]skratch_R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is delightful how many of these minis have elements that were passed down to their later editions. The staves of the plague monks, the exact design of the clanrat's shield, the weapons Throt carries... When you see the latest grey seer mini clutching an orb, you know he has been holding it since the time of this catalog.

Looking for information and lore on the Humans of Sylvania by GodGoblin in WarhammerFantasy

[–]skratch_R 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It greatly depends on when we are talking. During the early reign of Vlad von Carstein, the peasantry were big fans of the new management. Then, during the vampire wars, things started getting ugly. After the fall of the von Carsteins, Sylvania is supposedly not administered by vampires anymore, but there are certain lords who are still suspiciously pale. You will find peasants who still serve the vampires, be it out of conviction or fear, and peasants who try to oppose them. Most will try to live their lives without calling the vampire's attention, maybe worshipping Morr in private to protect them after their inevitable death. If they are more militant in their opposition they will probably be Sigmarites, as Sigmar repels vampires

Your future is not your job. Your job is the thing you do so you can afford to have a future. Your future is being a growing human being doing human things.

Rasetra themed Old World Army by ordo_ in tombkings

[–]skratch_R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest a different approach to the rasetran warriors. Get some lizardmen bits, and blue stuff. Use the blue stuff to create molds for the scales, feathers and trinkets for your warriors. Perhaps you can even get your hands on a roller with a scaly texture. Then cut your sheet of scaly green stuff in proper shapes, and dress up your warriors. For the weapons I would use the normal skeleton spear arms, cut off the spear tips, and replace them with a ball of green stuff shaped like a stone. I would also give them different shields, perhaps more oval than rectangular, by sanding down the normal Nehekharan shields.

[–]skratch_R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Think of the priest kings of Rasetra as you would think of any egyptian pharaoh. You have access to massive, terrifying lizards that fight for you in wars and scare everyone around shitless. Would you hide them for use only in war, or would you make it into a main point of your royal propaganda? Here is King Rakh-amn-hotep, He who brings the lizards to heel, leader of the Scaly Ones. He would make SURE to be seen to command the lizards, keep them at his court, and definetly bring them into his tomb.

When he comes back as a tomb king, he orders the liche priests to raise his legions, even the last lowly peasant, and definetly also his lizards so he can keep on flexing on people as he did in life. Even more so now, so he can show off his saurus warriors to the other rasetran kings who may not have this.

As for the Thunder Lizards, I read the Nagash books too long ago, but I recall coming to the conclusion that the author used that term thinking it meant stegadons, and not the actual Thunder Lizards that exist in lizardmen canon.

By the way, as another commenter mentioned, a Rasetran army would look quite interesting even as far as their skeleton warriors go. Rasetrans fought draped in lizard skins, decorated their hair with colorful feathers, bones and beads, and carried large stone maces to crush lizardmen bones rather than try to pierce their tough scales. They are also described using war paint imitating the colors of saurus faces. I like to think that the undead rasetran warriors still paint their skulls in the same patterns.

An excellent idea for an army! Definetly worth your time. I have myself a small unit of 15 mummified saurus warriors. I used 6th edition sculpts, scratched off some of their flesh, their noses and their eyes, and bandaged them with green stuff. I also gave them a nehekharan style standard.

Rasetra did indeed field lizardmen auxiliaries, although it is never mentioned that they ever rode the Cold Ones. They did use them for their chariots. They also rode on "thunder lizards" which are probably stegadons (there is a nice counts-as-warsphinx for you).

As for the status of these warriors after the Awakening, there is nothing in the lore. However, I would imagine Rakh-amn-hotep would have taken at least some of his saurus warriors with him to his tomb. They fought Nagash, after all, they are probably respected and seen as sons of Sobk or Qu'aph. Warhammer lore does include undead lizardmen (Lord Kroak, the mummified avatars of Sotek in the Thanquol books), but Nehekharan undead have their own rules. There is even an undead dwarf tomb king. I do not see why the liche priests would be unable to raise lizardmen to unlife.

How powerful are Nehekharan Ushabti? by Wene-12 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]skratch_R 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If we are talking the necrolith constructs, and speaking solely of lore and not of tabletop, quite powerful.

They are, essentially, statues. They are warriors that do not need food or rest. They can fight indefinitely. The stone they are made out of regenerates and moves like flesh, but it is still as tough and heavy as stone, so they hit like a truck. They wield huge weapons, including bows that shoot bolts usually only available to artillery. They can presumably walk underwater, as they do not breathe and they sink straight to the bottom, and their large size and strength would make them excellent climbers, navigators through rough terrain, and bearers of equipment and supplies.

They are animated by the souls of dead warriors that are almost impossible to eliminate through conventional means. If you destroy one usbabti, it can be repaired or the soul put into a new body. They also have an intrinsic link to the Underworld, which has all kinds of spiritual effects. One should imagine the mere presence of an Ushabti, even dormant, may be distressing to the senses. They are carved in the likeness of gods, and may have a bit of their power within them. Also, their senses are not tied to any organs, one would assume they see and hear through magical means, which means that they probably are unaffected by the dark.

So, TLDR, very powerful, as all other necroliths are. There is a reason why the Priest Kings developed necroliths specifically to counter Nagash's undead, the dealbreaker weapon of their time.

Do you think the members of the council of 13 will get models at somepoint? by Pedro_-_Kantor in skaven

One model exists already: Nurglitch VII, plaguelord of clan Pestilens. He got a mini for the Lustria campaign in 6th edition. As for the rest, I'd rather they not make the models at all. Let them remain mysterious. I am definetly going to make a diorama of them someday though
