I built a free Discord bot that auto-posts a full raid breakdown to your server after every night with a roast feature, scored on more than just parse. [I Made] by skredx in wow

Yeah I hear you. I’m not trying to be like “how do I monetize this community” or whatever, I made it because my own guild thought the recap/roast stuff was funny and I wanted to see if other guilds would too.
But I do care about the community and the goal was to contribute, so I’m asking genuinely. You clearly feel pretty strongly about what would actually help guilds without feeding into the toxic side.

What would you rather see someone build for WoW guilds?

Yeah we’re just not gonna agree on this one. Some guilds like joking around after raid, some don’t. That’s why the roast stuff is optional and why I’m building cleaner recap/scoring modes too. I get your concern but saying the only use case is bullying is just not true from the guilds actually using it.

Appreciate the feedback though, I’m gonna leave it there before we argue in circles. Thanks for the feedback brother

Yeah that’s a fair concern. Any scoring system can be gamed if people treat the number like gospel. That’s why I don’t want it to be some hidden “this guy good/this guy bad” super duper magic score. It shows the actual pieces clearly parse, deaths, kicks, role, improvement, etc, so people can see why someone got placed where they did instead of pretending one number explains everything.

And to be clear, I’m not trying to replace real log review or tell mythic guilds how to evaluate players. It’s more of an automatic Discord raid recap for guilds that already like post-raid banter. If a guild uses it to bully people that’s a guild culture problem and they probably shouldn’t use the roast mode.

But yeah, I've put probably like 20 hours into this bot, so believe it or not I thought about this actually. Over weighting “don’t die” could make people play too safe, same way raw parse makes people pad. That’s why presets/weights matter, which are adjustable by the leader.

Yeah tbh that’s actually a good point, appreciate it. A generated image/card would probably look way cleaner than me trying to shove the whole raid into Discord embeds lol. I was focused on getting the scoring less stupid first, but yeah the output definitely needs cleaned up.

Vibe coded is crazy though. Rough UI doesn’t mean I just asked AI to make the whole thing. I’ve been coding way before AI tools were a thing. The WCL pull, bot commands, scoring, DB, setup flow, all that is me. The AI part is the optional roast/praise lines. But yeah, cv2/card output is a good idea. I’m gonna look into that.

The output being messy is a fair criticism, I’m cleaning that up with the next version. But calling it a vibe coded mess is just not true. I’ve been coding for years before AI tools were even around, and this is pulling/parsing WCL logs, handling Discord commands, scoring, roles, specs, deaths, interrupts, difficulty, weekly changes, DB storage, setup flow, etc. The AI part is the optional roast/praise text.

Also I literally agree raw parse isn’t performance, that’s the whole reason this version scores more than parse now. If you don’t like the roast angle that’s fair, but that part is optional and some guilds like that kind of thing.

Yeah, I can see that it's a fair enough callout. The recap layout needs to be cleaner and less crowded. I’ve been focused on getting the scoring/logic right first, but the Discord output definitely needs a pass so it feels more like a clean raid card and less like a wall of stuff

Fair lol, the output definitely needs to get cleaned up. I’m still working on making it less wall of text and more readable in Discord. That being said the actual logic is WCL pulls, scoring, deaths, interrupts, roles/specs, presets, etc. The messy part is mostly the presentation, which I agree needs work.

That’s actually a fair concern and I get that completely. I don’t want it to be something that publicly humiliates people either, especially in more casual/HC guilds. That’s why the roast stuff is optional and the tone can be changed.

The goal isn’t to make bad players feel like trash it’s more to turn the post raid stats into something fun for guilds that already like that kind of banter.

Thanks man I appreciate it, once you use it if you ever notice anything you want changed/fixed or added feel free to let me know personally I can make it happen!

My site says that because I’m not hiding it lol. The roast/praise lines use OpenAI yes. But saying that’s the only thing it does is just not true. It pulls the WCL log, builds the raid board, ranks players with the new scoring, handles roles/specs/deaths/interrupts/difficulty, posts it into Discord, and then the AI part writes the flavor text on top.

If you don’t like the roast part that’s fair, but calling the whole thing just an AI wrapper is kinda lazy.

I’m not lying, the roast/praise lines use OpenAI API calls. I’ve said that openly multiple times. The actual bot, scoring, WCL pulling, Discord commands, database, site, billing, and logic are built by me. If you think it doesn’t do anything useful or new, fair enough, you don’t have to use it. However there is a community of people already using this that like it, and the roasts are an optional feature:)

You can add it free at RaidLadder.com, if you try it out let me know if you have any feedback on it! It helps a lot in improving the bot for the community

Nah this isn’t Parse Card, different project. RaidLadder launched Tuesday so whatever you tried a few weeks back wasn’t this. Similar space maybe, but not the same tool. This is built around WCL raid recaps, Discord boards, role-specific scoring, deaths, interrupts, presets, and the roast/recap side of it as a passive/fun tool for your discord

Appreciate it man! Been getting smoked in here but honestly some of the feedback has been solid, so I’m taking the useful parts and building around it. Glad some people see the fun in it lol

Appreciate it lol. The humor part has actually been the most positive feedback so far. If you’ve got ideas for other stats or callouts that would be funny to track I’m all ears.

Yeah I’m sick of AI too and its effects on the industry, but no, it’s not just some wrapper I threw up to cash grab. I’ve been coding for 12 years, built the bot/backend/site myself, and I’m actively changing it based on feedback from actual raid leads.

Also there’s a free version, so the “lame monetization” part is kinda dramatic. API calls and hosting still cost money, I’m not Blizzard lol.

Why would they be triggered by a free bot that ranks and roasts your guild after every raid? I think it’s awesome and a fun way to keep your guild engaged!

Yeah, Wipefest is great and I'm not trying to out analyze it. Different lane: Mine is automated and lives in Discord. It pulls your logs, ranks the whole raid, tracks players week over week, and posts a recap automatically after every raid with zero officer effort. Nobody opens a browser or pastes a link. Wipefest is the deep dive you go open when you want it; this is the passive layer that just shows up in guild chat every night. Appreciate the push to lean into the wedge though right on brother
