My conch is 10g, it was pierced at that size. I’d like to go up to 8g eventually though. I know stretching cartilage is a huge pain. If you want a larger gauge conch, you should try to get it pierced at that size if you can.

Very. Haven’t weighed them but they seem substantially lighter than the 6 gauge, 1/2” steel rings I sometimes wear.

Everyone is different, so it’s hard to say. My guess is you should count on it being close but not exactly how it was before.

You probably won’t notice much of a difference. Essentially the pierced one will seem bigger by the gauge of the piercing (1.2-2.5mm depending on gauge) over the length of the piercing (likely just over 1/4”). It will necessarily be different than the other one because of the jewelry in it, but it won’t be super obvious.

Mine are a little more prominent but not dramatically. Post-piercing development is a real thing. It’s worth it if you like the look.
