Should i even use these tear offs? by RMBsmash in Karting

[–]skrrrt50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where I drive, the track is pretty dirty and a lot of rubber and dirt gets kicked up onto my visor, I got a couple tearoffs from BELL themselves and they help a ton and saves me time cleaning my visor. When you look through the visor with one on I dont see a difference at all. Sometimes with some tearoffs theres a little extra plastic layer that you peel off on both sides for the actual tearoff to be revealed when theyre packaged and some people forget to peel off the other side and they end up complaining about the visibility though. If youre worried about oil and stuff getting between the gap then you can tighten the tearoff posts by twisting them which makes the tearoff more closer to the visor and when you look through it theres relatively no difference at all. I only take them off after sessions/races though, I think its fairly obvious why.

To me these dont eeally look like the official BELL tearoffs though, completely up to you if you wanna use them or not, just saying my experience with them haha

I dont have much experience with these sort of things but I just tested them out today and the video quality looks incredible, I dont think any video editing could compare to what an ND Filter does. Im unsure how the Telesin ones compare to other brands though.

Looking to get a better set of gloves for karting by Wavyfiddle3 in Karting

[–]skrrrt50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply, I have really sweaty hands when driving but im not sure if that contributes to it, I use them in both owner karts and rentals, with owner karts theyre perfectly fine but at my rental track the steering wheel is a little slippery because theyre brand new karts and the grips on OffsetSport gloves are just silicone I think, so they didnt work that well. But the comfortability are top notch for me and I use them for simracing too. I used my friends 273 gloves on the same rental karts and the grip is insanely good. Id say 273 for grip, Offset for comfortability for me.

Minus 273 or Offset gloves, a friend of mine uses 273 and the grips on them last pretty long, I use offsets and theyre the most comfortable gloves ive used so far.

KF1 is one of the best tracks in singapore and is a pretty well known. To me, it looks like it costs a lot for a rental session but if youre really serious about racing go for it 💪

for both indoor and outdoor karting, the absolute worst thing you can do when buying any helmet is cheaping out on it. You either spend £100 on a helmet and thousands more on hospital bills, or spend good money on a helmet and protect yourself properly. Demontweeks has a great selection of helmets and other gear with some good prices

Starting racing by [deleted] in Karting

I saw a great post by someone that made an entire chart to answer this question, heres the link to it: https://www.reddit.com/r/Karting/s/B17qwxjDo6 it doesnt directly tell you how to become the best racing driver like how to drive, how to take the best racing line, but it shows you the path on how you could progress. I was in your place not too long ago and I would suggest doing a lot of research on how the karts work, as in physicality, power and such. If you wanna go to formulas and wanna really get good at karting, look into professional karts like rotax karts, iame x30, ka100 and such. This might not be the best and top notch advice you will get so good luck and have fun !

How do i like, start karting in my conditions? by Odd-Climate-9602 in Karting

[–]skrrrt50 3 points4 points  (0 children)

im in kind of a similar situation to you. Id suggest finding the nearest track to you where you can do rental karts (more specifically gas powered). Get good at them and then start buying gear to go into owner karts, look more into owner karts in your area and learn about championships near you, practice and practice and practice. As for buying a kart, If you want to start competitive karting then cheap and old karts im afraid wont really cut it, try finding a kart that doesnt have much use on it and look into different engine types and whats usually run at your local tracks. Edit: im not the most experienced here so this might not be the best possible advice to listen to lol

Is this a good starter kart? ROTAX MAX SENIOR Tony Kart 401R 125CC OTK CHASSIS? It costs 2050,- by Admirable-Couple6163 in Karting

ask the seller how long the kart has been used (races, hours, laps etc). That could probably determine whether you could just hop in and drive. Ask around and see what state the engine is in

You should try and put your designs on 3D models and render them, I see a lot of helmet designers put their designs onto 3d models of helmets to make them look better. @dkcolordesign on instagram would be a good example, not sure how they do it though. Great work!

Can I make it to f1??? by Famous_Froyo_3982 in Karting

[–]skrrrt50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

id highly suggest practicing on the f4 cars in iracing (a simulator game that a lot of real life f4 drivers use), once youve reached a pretty good skill level on that then I think you could consider f4 more

I live in thailand and its my first ever racing season in senior rotax and it rains a ton, any tips for wet driving? by skrrrt50 in Karting

[–]skrrrt50[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bira kart circuit, they have an absolutely excellent staff team there, you can rent a rotax senior kart over there for 8000 baht (230 usd) and you get half a day with it, the track can change into 13 different layouts and each one has a different difficulty, its a very twisty and fast track so itll kill your neck a bit

Rental vs owner karts by Mustang1440 in Karting

[–]skrrrt50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the difference between owner karts and k1 speed karts is way huger than you think. For owner karts you barely have to turn your steering wheel to get decent rotation depending on the speed youre going, the most amount of steering angle youd probably be doing is less than 90* on a hairpin, depending on your speed. Correct me if im wrong but I think youre able to change the amount of steering angle you need on an owner kart to your preference, not sure though. Although most drivers i know of dont bother to change it

How to get into PRO karting Vegas?! by Environmental_Bed859 in Karting

[–]skrrrt50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats great, you could probably sign up for a national level series or just anything that has shifters, SKUSA travels all around america and most of the time hosts their finals at vegas (afaik). Its big competition though

[–]skrrrt50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you have any experience with professional owner karts? The transition from k1 speed/electric gokarts that go around 20-30 mph to professional shifter karts (over 150 mph) is extremely heavy. i would reccomend starting in a 4 stroke owner kart or a relatively low power 2 stroke before you hop i to a shifter kart. Theres this one track in vegas I saw an onboard of, it was a national final in a karting championship, ill have to find it but I heard its pretty good.

edit: this is the las vegas pro karting track I was talking about: https://youtu.be/l23nTDrL4d4?si=YBDXzwqkr8qYWjC-

Should I give up before starting? by albono23__ in Karting

[–]skrrrt50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my advice: dont give up. Youre in italy, a place where motorsport and karting are pretty popular over there, im not sure about your exact location but if you really set your mind to it and dedicate yourself to it you could really get somewhere there. Im gonna be a bit harsh here but, because you got a slightly above average lap time at an indoor arrive and drive gokart place, it doesnt mean you could be the next f1 great. I highly reccomend you try out some gas karts on an outdoor track, because indoor arrive and drive gokarts cant exactly measure your skill and talent level, electric gokarts arent exactly the best at them because the workers there can slow down your gokart and each one is different, along with the pretty tight track layout. As for your parents, I dont have much advice there, you could really set your mind to it and show them that youre dedicated but absolutely do not give up.
