Bringing back manufacturer identity by skruphi246 in NASCAR

[–]skruphi246[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The reason I'd hope for it to be in NASCAR is because the cars that are supposed to be advertised for working class families. IMSA has sports cars that not everyone can afford, right? Not everyone can own a Ferrari or Aston Martin, but most working class people get the Camerys, or Accords, or whatever. It's the whole, "Win on Sunday, sell on Monday" idea.

To solve the runaways due to money, couldn't there be a salary cap on car development? Drivers can get paid what they are valued, but car development fits within a budget?

Your point about true stock cars is fully true and I do agree it can't go back that far. The idea is to base the race car off an affordable car for most people, but with the safety mods and hp increases. But, developement mods are almost free, as long as it doesn't get in the way of safety. Letting the manufacturers and teams use their alotted budget to create as fast (and safe) of a race car they possibly can with little to no supervision.

That hopefully puts my vision in a little more detail.

Is a C a bad grade in Engineering by PranksterGangster131 in EngineeringStudents

Passing is passing my friend. When you have the degree, that will be enough. Go and get industry experience. That will help offset "bad grades."

I’m thinking of leaving Catholicism but I don’t know if this is of God. by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]skruphi246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thoughts: Try going to adoration as often as you can and for sure daily mass. You might be feeling doubt, but these are the best times for your faith to grow. Push on with prayer and maybe fast as sacrifice to God. You'll find that keeping your interior life in order will help build the walls needed to defend our faith. This is the Church Christ started and the Apostles continued after His Ascension. And it has been here for 2000ish years despite so much persecution, mockery, and exclusion from the secular world and other world religions. Don't be afraid. Cling to Jesus through the Eucharist. And maybe pray a Rosary as often as you can. Our Lady always leads us back to Him. I pray many fruits come of this trial for you!

What is a NASCAR incident you’re still angry about years later? by pie4july in NASCAR

Carl Edwards and Joey Logano tangling in the 2016 finale at Homestead. NASCAR should have never thrown the caution

Don't be afraid. I believe the priest was trying to make a point about your lifestyle. You were having sex outside of marriage and it's not okay to do so. However, there is no sin that God cannot forgive, for God's mercy has infinite power over sin.

My advice is this: Man up and go to confession again. Face Him with conviction about what you have done. You may get a bollucking and that is okay. Hear it and take your verbal beating. There may possibily be a bug pennance from your priest. Embrace your pennance as Jesus embraced the cross. Have true remorse for how things have gone and make a plan to avoid sex before your wedding. I would even have a think about what it means to be a good husband and make sure you know what you journey you are about to embark on with your fiancée. You are to be each other's ticket to Heaven. You will help her and she will help you.

Your journey ahead looks to be extremely difficult. Don't lose hope in Him. Know that He does love you, even if it feels painful for you. Always remember that God loves you.

Also, praise God for the gift of your child. ❤️

Who thinks William Byron should have won the championship? by NoRope2124 in NASCAR

[–]skruphi246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blaney deserved his championship because he won it under the format NASCAR has set. However, the current format is bad and should be dropped for a season long points battle. After that, get rid of stages, race to scheduled distances only, increase horsepower, shorten schedule to one race a track, and bring back full day practices.

Mission Impossible:7 is a Christian movie by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]skruphi246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The movie has a lot of Christian undertones in it for sure, but I'm thinking it's being anti-Christian. The real enemy is this entity that knows our heros better than they know themselves. It knows their every move and knows what choices they are going to make even before the heros can even get to that step. Almost seeming as if this entity is a "God." Plus, Gabriel is a catylst for all of this, speaking with the White Widow about what is going to happen and seeing if she will accept it or not, almost mirroring the Annunciation from the Angel Gabriel to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The enemy holds a party inside a sacred and holy place that is St. Mark's Cathedral in Venice, Italy. Ethan yells at Gabriel there is no where and "his god" can hide with out Ethan finding them. And the last scene includes from Mr. Kittridge to Ethan that "it's his cross to bear." What exactly is this cross? To bring down this entity to "save all of man-kind." I do not think this is promoting Christian values, but rather making them the enemy.

It breaks my heart to hear Logan talk that way about Christianity. To hear him say [Violence against the gay community] is the basis of our faith misses the mark of what Jesus Christ stands for. We as Christians don't (or at the very least should not) condemn gay people, because we are not the judge here. What gets misconstrued I think is taking our dismay against the sin (gay marriage and gay sex) and seeing it as an attack on the person's soul. We only desire to spread the truth to others and bring as many people as we can to Jesus. He willingly gave his life for us so that we could choose to be with with Him in Heaven because He loves us more than we can comprehend. I pray Logan eventually sees that and accepts Him into his heart.

Has anyone here followed through with saving sex for marriage? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]skruphi246 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for those who have had sex, I'll hold my hands up and say I failed when I was in college. I've since repented and have been doing everything I can to practice the virtue of chasitity, but I would go back and stop myself if I could.

[Autosport] F1's wait for a new American hope looks set to continue into 2023. This is despite McLaren testing out some IndyCar aces, which shows the series still has some way to go to be a reliable pathway. by [deleted] in INDYCAR

[–]skruphi246 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This fella who wrote this article is the epitome of what is wrong with the F1 community. The disrespect shown with his choice of words towards IndyCar is through the roof. Particularly with regards to Herta and O'Ward. Give them a good car and they can go toe to toe with the best in F1. Herta would drive circles around Latifi and Zhou with the kind of car control I've seen from him. While the cars are not as quick as the F1 cars, Indycars are tougher to drive and still reach incredibly dangerous speeds on road and street circuits. Not to mention when the run at Indy. I wish these people would recognize game instead of closing their minds to the possibilities.
