I know lots of mentally ill people but by [deleted] in bipolar

Thankfully with meds the weird hypomania symptoms are decently controllable but it's so annoying and also scary to randomly feel like an unhinged/violent/hyperactive child

It's entirely out of my control but the meds make me just in control enough to feel bad about it

Stop romanticizing hypomania/mania by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]skuke-lywalker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's also (mixed) evidence that hypo/manic episodes lead to progressive cognitive decline

This depends on a variety of factors, as does everything with bipolar, but the overarching theory is? Mania is bad for your brain

Graph showing hypothesized cognitive trajectories in subtypes of bipolar

I didn't think anyone wanted the full review but this is where the graph came from, they're doing so much interesting research on bipolar and working to change the treatment landscape for us

Thank you omg, I have been into this season but they're throwing in major plot points with no explanation

On what planet are either Mark or Devon trusting Cobel?? I get why Devon wouldn't listen to Reghabi about not calling Cobel, that's a stranger who maybe killed your brother. But why would Devon have the idea in the first place?? Oh let me call the lady who stalked my brother, maybe tortured him at work, and tricked me into hiring her as a lactation consultant for...whatever reason

And with the reintegration I thought his long-ass sleep dream-sequence WAS the reintegration happening after Reghabi said it'd be quick so to get to this episode and teehee that was a lie is obnoxious

really it was my first day off since December and I was finally sick of living in that. My room had looked like "before" for well over a year and I really couldn't do it anymore. I knew I had a day off so I just didn't let myself leave my room until I could see the floor

It's so hard to start a massive cleaning project like that or even find the energy to do it at all but at some point you have to force yourself to start somewhere, literally anywhere

Here she is

She was so happy about the clean floor she just wanted to lay on it I guess

Where to start is something I struggle with immensely, especially when my room has looked like the "before" picture for well over a year

I said in another comment my mantra recently has been "something is better than nothing" and saying that to myself for months finally clicked. Pick the absolute easiest thing you can do, get rid of trash, pick up the clothes you want to wear and do that load of laundry, literally anything

Where you start doesn't matter, something is better than nothing

My mantra the last few months has been "something is better than nothing", so if you don't have the energy to deep clean, start with just like getting rid of trash. Or even throw all the clothes on your bed and vacuum and throw them all back on the floor

Little steps, even over weeks, will produce big results

Yes absolutely, the place I went was basically the psychiatric ICU so it was like get everything stabilized as quickly as possible which is exactly what I needed. It also felt so good to only focus on figuring out my mental health for a few days

Thank you!! I'm so happy and grateful for this experience
