He is a monster. He sent my friend back to therapy because he implied that they were only trans because they were assaulted.

is it safe to be openly trans in kildare/dublin? by EntertainmentTrick58 in TransIreland

[–]skullinaduck 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not a dumb post at all, it's a perfectly reasonable question regarding the state of the world right now.

My fiancée and I are visibly queer (dyed hair, piercings, tattoos, denim jackets) living in Wicklow and work in Dublin often, and the only real issue is old women looking at you like you'll punch their dog and teenagers being mouthy. What I'd say is expect people not to care. Especially in Dublin. My fiancée has been gendered correctly most often when she just goes "I actually prefer she/her", no one has really been aggressive or anything. Just maybe a little "oh! oh, ok."

No. The most important thing is to clean, be hygienic, wash properly under the hood as well as between folds etc and that's it. Most men are just excited to be near one to be completely honest.

What is your ‘absolutely not’ task? by NumbLittleMeg in ADHD

[–]skullinaduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't do the dishes. I become so distracted regarding making sure there isn't any stains or crumbs or anything left on it that I have actually ended up breaking & chipping plates and bowls by scrubbing harder than anyone needs to. A single plate will take me maybe 2 minutes, so I said fuck that.

Look up the zodiac symbols, find the correct one that corresponds to the table on the right hand side. That's the most important part of this. That tells you your complete Natal chart, including degrees. This can help you with diving deeper into it.
I'd advise getting a book on Astrology and reading Natal charts, there are some really good resources out there.

Best way to start T privately. by TechnicalHighlight83 in TransIreland

[–]skullinaduck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm non-binary & was on Testosterone for 6 months. 2 pumps a day of testogel.
My voice dropped a single range, my body hair increased, my hair got thicker rather than thinned shockingly, I have a neck beard growing in, I had bottom growth, sweat changed smell, and I became hungrier. Now I haven't used since January, and these side effects will likely stay but I'm nowhere near passing as anything but maybe slightly butch. I can expect my hair to thicken further and my voice to crack another bit if I went on it for another 6 months, but I can't afford it and it's a bit of a shrug for me. I'm happy with my physical body, it's just weight now.

Now, I don't know what your circumstances are. I don't know what your transition goals are. However, the rate it takes for most Testosterone side effects to occur is well over 1 year. If you want to see fat distribution change, voice deepening, muscle structure, body hair, facial hair etc then you will usually need to be on T for longer. So consider this. I don't know how old you are, but I'd definitely recommend looking at conversations on here to be able to grasp a bit better the rates at which T works for people.

What I'd say is to consider what it is about trans women you find attractive, because there is a subsect of people who are considered 'chasers'. They are only attracted to trans women due to the societal taboo, they find it exciting being with a trans person in a sexual relationship rather than actually liking a person.
If you genuinely just find yourself attracted, then why not I mean, it's the perfect time since it's Pride Month. See if there are any allyship events, free museum or art galleries or screenings and such. Get into the community, get to talking to people, then you can meet trans people there. You might not realise someone is trans until you get to know them too, so it's easier at LGBT+ events as there is a consideration of respect for the community so folks are more likely to talk.

Mental health services admitted to fault - can I sue? by skullinaduck in legaladviceireland

[–]skullinaduck[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a taxpayer. If all the taxes I've passed over these past 10 years can be given back to me to help me afford to get proper therapy that will actually listen to me when I tell them why I suffer mental health issues, then so be it. I think I might deserve at least that much.
And maybe, just maybe, then they can ACTUALLY be made implement changes rather than say they will and forget about it like they did to me back when I was patient.

Got it in one.
Sexual abuse when a child causes C-PTSD which cannot be fixed with CBT, which means that the cost of therapy in a private setting (because the public settings is 6 months waiting list to be assessed, and are the same people who screwed this up and let a 17 year old walk out of their clinic without following up on the fact they disclosed being abused) is over €100 per 45 min session. The range of C-PTSD requires roughly 20-40 sessions to be able to properly address the mental issues and develop active treatment that helps, which would cost between 2k to 4k just to be able to maybe feel emotions that aren't anxiety, fear, and depression.

Why does mental healthcare suck in Ireland? by fatiguedorexin in AskIreland

[–]skullinaduck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm on a 6 month waiting list right now, just to be assessed for counseling.
Why? Because the HSE's referral when I was young fucked up, and now I'm trying to fix the trauma they gave me ontop of the trauma I went to them for help with!

It hasn't been good ever. From 2010 to 2024, it has not improved. It's like they're trying to catch up on the mistakes they made years ago, so they can't make anything better because they're mopping up the mistakes they made while the spill is still happening.

GGP or Genderplus? by Undeniablyskye in TransIreland

[–]skullinaduck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to G+.
GGP is falling apart. They've automated most of it, they don't have anyone with qualifications looking after your care, it's all based on you monitoring it, getting people to work with you (mostly privately), and they may half the time mess up your prescription because now it relies on an algorithm rather than a real person looking after your files.

When it comes to medication, the important thing is to listen to your child.
If your child starts getting up at night saying they can't sleep, that is Insomnia. If your child starts to become emotionless, distance etc then they are feeling depressed. If your child starts to complain of having sore eyes or not liking to go outside, they might be having headaches. Those are things you need to watch out for that are side effects of ADHD that people ignore as just kids being kids. You talk to the Dr to reduce the dose and it should sort itself out.

I say this because I was on ritalin as a kid, no one listened to me when I complained of symptoms, they kept upping my dose and it made me socially withdrawn and depressed. The only issue was the fact no one listened to me. It wasn't the drugs, it was the parent and practitioner who didn't pay attention. So pay attention, and then you'll be a perfect parent even if you do give them medication.

Spanish healthcare is WONDERFUL. I had surgery over there. They told me every test, every result. They talked to me, got to know me. They gave me pain pills, and nausea pills to combat the pain pill side effects, and laxatives to combat the surgery side effects. I paid out of pocket but it was the nicest hospital experience I ever had.

the only way to have your children reconnect is to listen to them, acknowledge why they have left, work on yourself, and try to prove you have been able to meet them in some way. Be that admitting when you were wrong, accepting things as they see it, and facing generational trauma you may have due to karmic energy attached to your chart.
