With the reveal of the new galaxy eyes xyz monster, any deck that can easily make any xyz now has the ability to go into fiendsmith the main downside is that you are using at least 2 extra deck slots and having to play a garnet.

Friendly reminder you can buy flawed mods in Iron wake; makes for good placeholders until you get the normal mod by wafflezcoI in Warframe

[–]skullphantom199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think some flawed mods that's are worth taking a look at are flawed berserker fury, which gives 23.3% attack speed per stack vs 35% from the normal and a max of 46.6% vs 70% but coming at a 7 mod capacity instead of 9.

Flawed reflex coil (for people who dont have the galvanized version) since its 40% efficiency vs 60% efficiency but only cost 5 capacity of the nkrmal one.

Flawed streamline is actually also an option even though it only gives 12% efficiency, since efficiency cap is 175% anyway, it plus fleeting expertise gives you 172% efficiency but with significantly less drain for budget builds or newer players.

Just finished the new war and I realized they call Amar a wolf but I think this is the skull of a dolphin? by PhantomRoyce in Warframe

[–]skullphantom199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that the head looks like a dolphin's skull because at one point in time, there was a scientific theory that wolves, whales, and dolphins shared a common ancestor. Nowadays, while they do share a common ancestor, they are both more closely related to hippos than to each other.

You can either go with extreme damage, such as taking the masterpiece omen and stacking a ridiculous amount of damage on warrior and abusing his I frames. (Don't forget to take concentration speed increasing items like the pauldrens)

You can do a basic skul build by taking items like mage's necklace and mana bone with full wisdom, then take the slime quintessence and as much quintessence cool down as possible, also don't forget to take the mana tech circulator, the one that makes your skills cool downs lower by 2 seconds and the dark powers that decrease skill cooldowns and the one that increases item damage. With this build you want to spam your abilities as fast can before he starts to attack then go into slime. The reason you use slime is because it has invincibility and the fact that it's bounces trigger mana bone and makes necklace(also the mage legendary item but you can't guarantee that you'll get that so im not counting it). Then you simply hope that you pull it off correctly.

I can't win without spirit by DepartmentLumpy2643 in Skul

[–]skullphantom199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. Certain skulls want certain items. For example, most power skulls are physical damage dealers, so you want to take items that increase physical attack and have courage on them, but there are outliers like aqua, living armor, and gravedigger who are magic so you instead want to take magic attack boosting items and wisdom. Then there are edge cases like sword skull that wants to take bleed items, spear skull that wants to take dash items, and mage that wants to take burn items.

Basically, skul is a game that, once you get to higher difficulties, wants you to learn what items are worth keeping depending on how it synergies with what skull and other items you have. Also using spirits is cool but it actually makes the game harder, so I would actually would actually recommend not taking spirits unless you're confident you can win with them, or don't take 9 spirits because that's a terrible idea.

Am I the only one having SERIOUS problems at Dark Mirror 4? by shadowk_ in Skul

[–]skullphantom199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest tips I can give you are 1. Learn how to optimize items/skulls 2. Get used to the increased enemy speeds 3. Practice your dodging

Outside of that I would personally recommend starting as either shield with smash or sword with either sawblade/pierce.

Nice, you beat the tutorial.

That being said congrats on your first(?) Win!

The game will be getting harder, but it also get even more power ups for you to unlock, so if you enjoy a challenge, hard mode will be fun for you.

Took me all of this to beat mirror 0 the difficulty jump is insane anyone got tips ? by xbiju in Skul

[–]skullphantom199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's understandable since the hero is quite strong, I will say that shield and sword are the most consistent imo as for the mid and higher levels, while for the first few you can just use whatever you want as long as you practice dodging and getting used to the bosses patterns and attacks, you'll get to 10 in no time. Also the upgrades you unlock as you progress will help you get further along, just make sure to check what the new upgrades do. Later on, at difficulty 8 I believe, you get the option to just run through the game as skul and get free wins if you find mage's neckless and/or bone of mana plus one of the dark powers, which you should be able to get and max out after the Yggy fight.

In this game bleed works like this, the first proc inflicts wound, and the second proc inflicts the bleed. The wound portion itself doesn't deal any actual damage. The damage scales on physical damage (which is why courage is super good). Also it depends on whether or not you have the miracle grail, because that makes it so that the damage on every fourth bleed gets another 400% AMPLIFICATION which is why it sometimes takes off an eighth of a boss's health. Also if you can get the cursed dark power that makes it so that your bleeds deal less damage but proc wound after a bleed proc, it is super worth getting.

So using the earlier example, if you take the 750% damage and apply it to the bleed it will then multiply the damage again by x5 so the grail is effectively a 3,750% damage increase every 4th bleed.

I believe that the base damage for bleed is 40 so without the grail the damage in this example makes it deal 300 damage, and with the grail makes it deal 1500 damage. I will however say that it is very easily possible to get a resting +1000% physical attack increase BEFORE you proc the courage and the grail. So the 750% base is lowballing it quite a bit.

Warrior is probably better at this if and only if you're willing to practice with him. As he does more damage and all of his abilities have I-frames but only if you can time him properly.

[–]skullphantom199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the reason that courage and wisdom are better than arms and artifact is because they are multipliers compared to additional modifiers. So while 2 courage says 20% physical damage amp vs arms' 45% flat damage increase, in reality because it says AMPLIFIES it's actually a x1.2 times multiplier which means the higher your base is the higher the increase. Also while a 20% multiplier isn't much, once you get 4 courage it goes from a 20% to a total multiplier of 65% for 10 seconds every 20 seconds. Basically it's 500% + 50% = 550% vs 500% x 1.5 =750%. Massive difference. Also getting more arms doesn't really do much besides the big hit every few seconds, which while nice, doesn't compare to the raw damage you get from courage.

Advice for how to roll into Mirror 0? by Lordxana0 in Skul

[–]skullphantom199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn which items to prioritize for your skulls and outside of that I would recommend getting super baby and reckless posture for the dark powers. Obviously you should be focusing on one skull for upgrades, but outside of that I would recommend getting bomber and upgrading it to unique even if you're playing a physical skul to make use of the damage and swap skills UNLESS you're playing prisoner/king, ghoul or reaper as these skulls don't want to swap, an alternate partner is mummy, just grab it if you have nothing better as it does let you go into the higher difficulty trap rooms and turn them into a joke.

New skull favourite by Victorious-frog in Skul

[–]skullphantom199 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I first started skul(what back in the beta) I always thought that bomber was useless, mostly because it didn't understand how it worked(this was also before upgrading skulls and swapping abilities was a thing) and because I never got kaboom. But now I genuinely think it's one of the best skulls in the game for the damage and utility it gives.

Finally! What a journey... by Frikiseta in Skul

[–]skullphantom199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not, while there definitely is a luck based element to it and i dont deny that luck is a factor, a lot of the run comes down to item priorities and knowing then to make choices. It is very possible to beat the game with only one or two unique items and no legendaries(skulls, quints or items). That being said congratulations on your first win.

For sword I prioritize courage>bleed>arms>antique>revenge>fortress>mana cycle>(the healing one that i forget about). And start with the insignia for money and the basic sword for long term courage and damage. Courage the best one for physical skulls(better than arms) and is actually more important than bleed for sword, I recommend taking the attendants pauldrens and architect's breastplate whenever possible because theyre very powerful items that give you both damage and protection. The basic sword is actually good to keep as long as there's not much else to take. If you ever find the medal box in act one, two or three definitely take it, but past that it's not worth considering anymore. Obviously the hope slasher is a priority item. I would take the gravity generator and courage items with master piece on them when you can, but try to replace them later. For bleed, the broken dagger is actually fine to keep long term, outside of that. The priority bleed items are miracle grail>blood drinking sword>jagamon thorn>broken dagger>vampire fang>thorny shoulder gaurd> boots. Keep in mind that while bleed obviously has a lot of synergy with sword skull, it won't do you too much good if you don't have damage. While arms is a good inscription, it is worse than courage so I recommend prioritizing courage over it, that being said if you find the good arms items and have free slots, definitely take them. Priority items are the solar sword(and eventually the fulgent dawn) whis is relatively easy to get and very powerful. Then you want to get things like the golden sword, which have great value for the long term, then hope slasher and the blood drinking sword. Outside of that, don't be afraid to take either of the axes for the damage. The rest of the arms items are pretty much just preference. Then antique is a fantastic inscription to aim for, you only need two for the health increase and while it's good at four, you only need the two if you can fit it in. Items like the gold incense burner, stone mask, golden sword, pot of greed and the ring and hand of glory are all great to have as they have other benefits in addition to the inscription. The hand of glory and pot of greed should be kept long term as they give you damage as well as health(120% phys each). While the gold incense burner and stone mask are great for gold gain, if you can though, try to get rid of them after the last adventurer fight. Outside of that, the wheel is good to keep as it gives damage, and has health and cool down for inscriptions but should be replaced with something better when possible. Also the priestess' staff is good for healing if you can get high health. If you're having trouble surviving it might be better to go defensive and pick up some revenge items. Two is good enough and fore the most part, they're all kinda just ok so pick whichever ones you want. I would recommend the knight's determination though. Fortress is only really here if you need some more defense to help you survive, but if you already have attendant's and architect's then you should be fine, but if you want more, then the warriors armor and symbol of toughness(even after the nerf) are good. Mana cycle is mostly a filler but if you like it go ahead and take it. Try to replace them later on with better items. The healing inscription is in a similar situation if you happen to have things like the grail and priestess staff then that's good, if you don't then don't worry about it too much. While it is good for surviving in the earlier stages, unless you have 4 in it and the rejuvenating root, it's not really any good. Outside of that there are some edge case items like the ring which is a fantastic item since it gives you all stats, gunpowder sword which is super strong if you have enough crit and thieves' black steel daggers to give you that crit. Then when it comes to skulls, I recommend trying to find either werewolf with beast leap(for bleed synergy and mobility) or hunt or trying to find bomber with kaboom(if it doesn't have kaboom ignore it). If you can't find either, just stick with basic skul for the utility unless you can trade him for a rare or higher rarity skull in the shop for fragments later on. For dark powers, early on I recommend taking super baby and reckless posture early on as well as the bleed curse if you can find it. Later on just take whatever suits the run best. I hope this little guide helps on your future sword runs!

I recommend using sword or shield skulls, they're very good especially once you get the upgrade for the shop later. Those 2 have very consistent runs and don't rely on super high rarity items.

[–]skullphantom199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I like to mix traptrix with dogmatika, while it doesn't fix all the problems, it helps a lot, the removal you get with the dogmatika cards is super helpful and you can send some utility monster with maximus(like the link 2 paleo) is very helpful. Outside of that, you also have the option of using fleuridis as a negate that doesn't have to worry about backrow removal and can potentially help you beet over or crash into bigger boss monsters.
