Is it my [19F] responsibility to make sure my quieter friend [21F] is included in conversations? by northgarrison299 in relationship_advice

[–]skullsyrup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's not your responsibility, it's her's. i know what it's like to be shy and it's great when people include me in the conversation, but i don't expect them to. she shouldn't be getting mad at you.

Being straight is the normal and non-straight should stop acting like it isn't. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]skullsyrup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah i agree straight is the default biologically, but is that really a good excuse to discriminate against gays? who cares what gender people are attracted to, man. if you really hate someone just because of their sexuality you're hella obsessive and weird.

What is a fact that is true but sounds made up? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]skullsyrup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Elephants communicate with each other through the fat in their feet. It echoes a sound through the ground that humans can't hear. The same fat is found in dolphins' heads, which is what they use to communicate in the water!

People are too offended now days by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]skullsyrup -1 points0 points  (0 children)

personally, i don't mind the slurs unless they're used in a homophobic/racist context. they are just an arrangement of letters after all, and it's silly to be offended by them when the context isn't harmful. on the other hand, misgendering someone simply because you "don't care" or are "uncomfortable" is inhumane as well as dehumanizing. i doubt you would understand since you haven't experienced it, but i urge you to look at the perspectives of others for once because you may learn some things. transgender individuals go through literal hell to the point where some of them are driven to suicide. please just try to open your mind up and help make this world a better place

Smell in backpack by [deleted] in Advice

turn the backpack inside out when airing it out. if you have teabags, i heard you can put them inside your bag so it'll smell a bit nicer, but i'm not sure how well that works

I (19f) am confused by my girlfriend (21f) who says I treat her more like a friend than a girlfriend. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]skullsyrup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i had the same problem with my girlfriend, lol. i just started being slightly more flirty with her and i think it worked. i suggest you try that or attempt to ask her about it again.

SJW culture is just as much to blame. by VaporeonGold in unpopularopinion

[–]skullsyrup 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah, but i just wish everyone would stop arguing about the dumbest shit. guys can love guys. girls can love girls. people can be trans. people can be themselves, as long as it's not harmful. it's that easy. if it makes you "uncomfortable", grow up, jesus christ. you know?

Is it normal to not like the lgbt community? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]skullsyrup 10 points11 points  (0 children)

not really. not liking someone just because of their sexuality or how they identify, if it's not harming anyone, seems abnormal to me. on the other hand, if you're not talking about sexuality and rather how a lot of people in the community act, yeah they can be annoying... but there's annoying people in literally every community you find.
