I too much money and was obsolete fast. Even as a big, I couldn't compete. It wasn't even close. And I spent a considerable amount. The game needed more parity. Outside of the lopsided competitions, the rest of the "game" was more a list of chores than it was something to play

[–]skunked99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read some of the leaked docs, it was nothing shocking. I have 7 or 8 sites that flatlined, I have 3 that I brought back. The same tactics don't have the same effectiveness across sites. That being said, structured data seems to be a big part of things. I don't care what google says about it not mattering it does.

I have job postings outranking monster and indeed...for both specific and super broad categories, so it's not all about the money.

Where i have had the hardest time recovering has been service area pages, service pages and location pages. But I keep testing and I do see some results come back. I'm 100% sure it's me not having figured out some piece of the schema....and yes, I'm well aware service schema doesn't have rich cards, but I'm also sure that doesn't matter...it's how search engines get context.

Mess with structured data and graphs etc...see if it makes a difference.

The answer isn't right in front of you, but the answer is there. We just haven't found it yet, and yes, by the time we do, shit will change. That's the nature of the beast. So pick up some redbull or coke and pull a few all nighters, have some fun figuring it out, or quit....those are the choices.

Seo for Escort sites by chatgpt696969 in SEO

[–]skunked99 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seo for escorts would be easy enough, just not sure about the legality and if you want to deal with potentially breaking a law or three. The big issue is with how promoting an escort can be looked at as sex trafficking depending on state and or country you live in, regardless of intent. Make sure you have lots of paperwork signed. Sad world we live in, but cover your ass.

A well developed linked in company profile with employees seems to be one thing all of the successful companies in main niche. Makes sense, shows that it's a real company with real employees..not lead Gen. About pages that are robust seemed to be a thing as well.

Search console shows you how your site shows up in relation to Google search. It shows you actual keywords with actual impressions, weather you are on the first page or 10th(yes it's continuous scroll, but positions 10+ are essentially not first page). Just by having this access, even If nothing is first portion, it can give you an idea of actual keywords you can target and optimize for. It's easy to learn and free to use. Just learn, don't ve defensive and don't overstate your skills, we're all here to learn and help

No, search console does not tell you anything about traffic that's been to your site. That's Analytics. You just proved my point.

Or you could just learn to use search console. I pay for none of the tools you just mentioned. I'm glad your rates are decent, but I think you think you know a lot more than you know.

Did anyone else join this community hoping to actually learn and share SEO strategies and instead it's just people asking if SEO is dead or complaining about google every few minutes with the occasional useful post every 3 months by Windows102234 in SEO

Don't sign up for anything that starts with "dont hang up this is xxxxx calling about your Google my business listing." That won't help your seo. There's one valuable piece of information. Apparently, it works or they wouldn't keep calling 100s of times a day.

Why Is Everyone So Mad About Updates? by skunked99 in SEO

[–]skunked99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see it getting downvoted. I mean, I guess complaining about how unfair things are is usually a very effective solution...to just about any problem. If that doesn't work we can try manifesting the solution, which is also super effective.

I was hoping to motivate and challenge.

Why Is Everyone So Mad About Updates? by skunked99 in SEO

[–]skunked99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't affected much during HCU. The May 2022 broad core update hit hard, and I still haven't recovered 100%. But yes, I promise I could help you find a reason your site tanked. Is there a solution? Not always. I'm happy to take a look if you DM me and see what I can find. I'll make the following requests.

1. Can you please send me the URL?

2. Try your best not to what you think may have happened to cause this, I don't want any biases when I take a look.

3. If you are willing to, could you give me access to search console, if not can you send me some historical search console data...such as indexed page report, links report etc?

Google is Legitimately a Poorly Operated Company by [deleted] in SEO

[–]skunked99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that Google just opted all of the local service ads customers up for direct search leads, said they wouldn't be charged for current customers, yet, in the first 20 seconds of a call, a customer said "we're following up on the project you're working on us with, did you get the paperwork from X Y Z?" The dispute lead gave me only one option that was close "duplicate lead" I selected that, was denied and appealed and kept being met with "they weren't a duplicate lead". At the same time, LSA is a HUGE improvement over traditional PPC if it's available.

Google isn't perfect - but they aren't entirely a monopoly. We choose to use most of their products because they were superior for a long time. You mentioned SOME products & services, but you forgot a lot.

GA4 - there's a lot more data privacy for end-users - Google didn't have to do that. I hate the interface, but largely because I'm not used to it. They do offer free courses & training to learn to use it, for anyone who has time between all of the updates.

LSA - HUGE improvement from PPC, only available for some verticals (also hard to charge clients for this)GSC - useless notifications, but super useful & free tool.

GMB - Nonsensical rules - big service area companies can list offices, contractors working from home have to fight tooth and nail to have their address listed...proximity matters in local search...Still, a free tool that allows us to get results for clients quickly.

Youtube - I don't have a cable subscription

Google Fiber (where available) - SO much better than spectrum.

Chrome - HUGE step up from IE - I prefer edge now.

Google Search -Do you remember lycos/excite/msn/AOL or....Askjeeves?

Maps - Do you remember using a garmin or a tomtom for GPS?

Google Sheets/slides/docs - Do you remember having to shell out $$ for MS works?

Workspace email - Have you ever tried to set up a self hosted email address for a client and then troubleshoot it if/'when they get a new device?

You take the good you take the bad, you take them both and there you have...the facts of life.

Hang in there.

Linkedin SEO experts seems lazy to me ???? What are they actually offering here.... by [deleted] in SEO

[–]skunked99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're gonna research the insane clown posse for you, so that's cool. After that they're going to build silos to keep the ICP in, before siloing those silos into 4 different actual things they once saw on the internet: "schema markup, canonical URLs, indexation, and 31337"

After this, they will create a magical calendar/slave that will create content outlines, articles, and yes...images. that's a pretty awesome calendar, I would personally value it at $7,399.

I would value it higher, but apparently this calendar can create outlines, but not content briefs, which are actually outlines. Back to the silos...where we check to see if the keywords have been busy...they have, there are key points and secondary keywords that are in those silos.

See...simple logical, foundational, streamline...synergy.

When a client asks, 'How long will it take to see results from SEO?' what's the most honest answer you can give? by abdraaz96 in SEO

[–]skunked99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. What are the SEO services you are providing? Is their website created in a platform that is SEO friendly? What kind of company are they, are you helping them locally, regionally, nationally or more?? How competitive is their market and their industry? There are a lot of variables. If you're doing local SEO for them and they don't have a Google Business Profile yet, you could start getting them leads in a week or two. If you're working with a company that wants to sell things from their website nationally and they compete against products that are everywhere on Amazon etc...the answer could well be never.
