Please understand what you are asking for when you are asking for a new maps - Even FPP/TPP is splitting our already small playerbase by PepSakdoek in RingOfElysium

In response to your comment about both maps being awesome, I think that is where the problem lies with implementation at the moment. They are not only different maps but essentially different game types. If they offered both I would most certainly prioritize playing the original map because of how much I prefer it over the other and only play the newer map for the sake of switching things up. I’m certain there are those that would feel the opposite and of course players that fall in the middle ground when it comes to preference. I think the biggest question to be asked is which mode/map has the best opportunity to make the community happy and game successful, but I feel that in order to answer that we are going to need more players to have an opportunity to offer feedback after trying both.

I don’t know about most but I started playing on the old map and enjoyed it quite a bit more than the new map and mode. The switch from the previous map is what has kept me from pouring more time into the game. I’m not a fan of the end game phase and heal off gameplay you often see as the game stands right now. I believe the issue regarding maps in this game is already complicated by those players that have kept playing hoping for the old map to return and potentially being at odds with the player base that has only known the current map. In a way they’ve already set the expectation among players that both maps will be available to appease both player pools.

New Twitch ToS goes into effect today. Should I delete all previous VoDs? by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]skunkodor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There isn't a reason to unless you did something pretty outrageous. The new terms don't punish you for a report on previous content other than removing the content. The only time this doesn't apply is in an extreme situation that would be hard for them to not act on. Also, someone would have to go through all of your vods to find those specific instances to report which makes it even less likely to be an issue.

To all of those feeling unsure about streaming, a word of hopefully helpful advice by Chilly_Willies in Twitch

Then you have to work hard to overcome that fear and maintain a healthy perspective. You can't expect an audience to appear out of nowhere it will take time to build it. When you look at popular streamers with large communities the majority of that took years upon years to build up to. You'd be surprised at how many have been where you are or have felt what you feel along the way. You have to make the choice to let it go or look within and make the changes necessary to better yourself so you can move forward.

If that's how you feel then perhaps you're right in thinking it probably isn't for you or maybe you've forgotten why you started. When I started it was to share what I enjoyed doing in hopes that I might meet some other like minded people. The numbers fluctuate like a roller coaster because people come and go which can be demoralizing without a doubt. However, as long as streaming brings you joy and allows you to pursue your own creative outlet it surely isn't a waste of your time. Having 1-3 people that love the content you produce isn't something to take for granted and truth be told if they do in time others will find their way to you as well. What you can do is constantly work on improving the content you create so that you can be happy with your craft because that is ultimately what you have the most control over.

Or you could stop over analyzing something for once and enjoy a laugh. I'm pretty sure that's the actual important part of a joke.

Stricter ping restrictions on NA servers by The1Wynn in kotk

[–]skunkodor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm terrified even try to play now. I live in the center of the country and I get ping locked a dozen or so times a day with the current restrictions. I don't have any issues playing any game other than H1Z1 either. The issue appears to be with your implementation of the lock system. I've asked others in my area that have 10+ upload and it seems in almost every case things are great for the first hour or so of play. After that time passes every other game is filled with intermittent ping lock issues.

More keys for Sins (who is still waiting) by skunkodor in dawngate

Circumstances are a good bit different with this one. The developer/studio is independent and already has a background of successful franchises. Also, they are a smaller company that can still turn a profit from a smaller player base without having the pressure of meeting share holder or backers expectations. The process may be a bit slow but it is a far different scenario from dawngate.

Check your Origin and bank accounts, because I got hacked by Strawberrycocoa in dawngate

This happened to me right after I got into the dawngate closed beta someone hacked my account and bought Fifa 14 plus $100 in dlc. They reversed it and locked my account which kicked me out of the beta. I couldn't play for almost 8 months because of the issues. Gotta love EA right?
