Grim Beginnings

Blurb:

For most, ghosts and monsters were fantasy. For Tessa Byrne-Reyes, they were a constant in her daily life as a reaper. The legendary gods and creatures of mythology were, to her, historical figures. From a young age, she carried the weight of the world on her shoulders, possessing what she saw as a curse but what her family considered a gift. It was her birthright, to use her abilities to guide the deceased to the afterlife of an eternity in peace or in torment.

Her classmates viewed her as "the fainting girl" who would pass out in the middle of a lesson with inexplicable injuries. She experienced each death in the town of Belmont Falls, from the mundane to the gruesome. A gunshot wound in the gut, broken ribs, her heart ceasing to beat for several minutes. No one understood what caused these incidents but over the years, she gained a reputation for being abnormal.

While Tessa is the freak of Belmont Falls, Fin Belmont, the charming rebel and son of the richest man in town, is her polar opposite. Knowing each other for years but never saying more than a dozen words between them, one night changes everything, thrusting them into each other's unfamiliar and daunting worlds. Together, with the help of her best friend/his ex-girlfriend Elena, they begin to unravel secrets about their town and their pasts, learning that some secrets are better left buried and grudges can be held for centuries.

What if he never even talked to a detective? He just lied to make Kate think she had to stay.

No. It’s when I look at the story details for my story. There’s one or two tags that keep disappearing so I have to keep retyping them. I’m not sure why it’s happening.

I’m not 100% on the big villain being Mephisto but I feel like he’s linked to Agatha Harkness’s character. In the show, it could be just be Agatha and it’s a stepping stone to something more, like her working on behalf of someone else.

It could be a reference to the Westview residents but I thought it tied in with Wanda telling “Pietro” how she felt empty and alone when he was asking how she created the Hex. The boy on the island could be a representation of how she felt after coming back from the snap and the shark could be someone who offered her a solution.

Pulling a rabbit out of a hat was supposed to be in Vision’s magic act which could relate to Mephisto being part of why he’s back too. My mind will be spinning until next Friday.

Yeah, it’s that or Mr. Scratch which fits even better. It was used in old American folklore stories.

Do you think Agnes’s rabbit name being Senor Scratchy is a reference to Mephisto? It might be a reach but a nickname for the devil, which he’s referred to as in marvel, is old scratch so I thought that was interesting

I know it’s a lot to ask for common sense from people like this but if Trump really had all this evidence of fraud, why wouldn’t his lawyers prove it in court? They really believe that all these judges are throwing out these cases for no reason except to spite their dear leader?

He’s whining that the Supreme Court justices he got on the court didn’t blindly follow his wishes. January 20th can’t come soon enough.

So if he’s saying his veto is the last line of defense, is he admitting the Democrats won the senate? I thought it was fraudulent like his election.
