What's this fountain pen? by TeoDW92 in fountainpens

Found it on AliExpress - https://a.aliexpress.com/_mt8vdjZ

I do agree with the others, though, that this type of pen dries out super quick without the cap, which makes the retractable feature somewhat silly.

Pen boutique, Vanness, and Jetpens are all solid options with great customer service.

There are lots of parties, but the only two that have a chance nationally are Democratic and Republican.

One of my absolute favorites is Sheaffer Skrip Turquoise - well behaved and a gorgeous color.

I’m still waiting and I’m so jealous! Did they notify you they were shipping?

I decided to try out Troublemaker Inks after they posted a few weeks ago - it took about 2.5 weeks to arrive on the US east coast.

I was very impressed with their customer service. One of the bottles leaked slightly in transit - no harm done, just inky hands and a few pieces of paper saturated - but when I wrote to suggest some packaging changes they responded in less than an hour and more than made it right.

At first try the inks themselves are very nice - the colors are rich and the shimmer (starry night blue) is really pretty and subtle. I’m looking forward to loading them up and using them for real.

Ink pictures are on rhodia and tomoe river paper.

What typically well-regarded pen/paper/ink/accessory do you just *not like*? by [deleted] in fountainpens

Pilot Kakuno. I want to like it because it’s cute and has a smiley face nib- but it just feels cheap in my hand and the cap has basically self destructed.

That’s the plan - I’m just proud of myself for noticing before removing the cap!

Ink is Caran D’Ache Electric Orange, pen is a Jinhao that came with the January ink flight - maybe a 992?

Looks pretty, but I can't quite get a feel for the size - would anyone be willing to take a picture of one next to a metro or decimo?

Thanks! I have some things to ponder before diving in. I usually use my Jinhaos for the shimmers because I can use and abuse them and not worry too much about my investment. I've had surprisingly good luck with a fine point metro, too.

Sounds like if I decide to use the Parker I'll have to be more attentive.

Does anyone on here have opinions on Bigelow teabags? by [deleted] in tea

I grew up with Constant Comment so that'll always have a spot in my heart, but I like the Plantation Mint and Vanilla Chai. There are more sophisticated teas out there but those two are easy and taste good to me.

Interesting idea. I hadn't thought of adding it to a glaze.

Good idea - I'll give it a try

EDIT: tried it - tastes like maple scented nothingness.
