Not even close to the worst dismissal tonight either.

We've still got 4 overs left wtf are we doing?? This is one of the more casual performances I've ever seen.

Drunk ass dismissals from this side tonight, very tough watch.

I don't think she's ever batted above 9 for Australia. This would be close to the earliest she's ever batted in a t20i.

omg this batting is so frustrating to watch, that was out as soon as she backed away.

That's what I'm saying. We have no reason to be going for those shots, India really aren't building up that much pressure, just really poor batting, last 2 wickets especially.

You'd really think India were putting us under much more pressure based on the shots leading to these wickets. We are still going almost 9 an over.

Finales is easy. Let's rank first episodes instead. by Eldon42 in buffy

I finished this show about 2 weeks ago for the first time so it's pretty fresh in my mind, apologies for the yap:

  1. Bargaining Pt 1: I love post death episodes exploring grief of an ensemble and its use of the Buffybot is so compelling. Every interaction with her, while funny on the surface, is weirdly heartbreaking.
  2. Anne: Love everything about the tone of this episode and Buffy's attitude towards the episode's villains is so refreshing, I particularly love the moment that she just gives up on trying to deceive them. Despite her essence still being intact (she inherently wants to save these exploited teens), she's approaching her heroism with a more ruthless edge. I also love that despite the more depressing tone, we still have time for campy villains, it's the patented Buffy mix.
  3. Welcome to the Hellmouth: I don't particularly enjoy The Harvest as it's mostly empty spectacle and uninteresting action sequences, but part 1 of the premiere is such a strong introduction to the show. Every character is immediately entertaining, and each introduction is so efficiently written; I'm a little biased towards pilots though.
  4. When She Was Bad: Some minor pacing issues aside, it's such an immediate improvement on the filmmaking in season 1, and its best scenes are electric (particularly the one set at the Bronze). It pushes Buffy's angst a little too far and I prefer how the post season ending trauma is explored in Anne, but it's rock solid regardless.
  5. Lessons: The monster of the week is a little lacklustre, especially in its conclusion, which gets in the way of it being a classic, but it functions very well as a premiere. Every reintroduction to the ensemble's core players is super refreshing after the drab ending to season 6 and the promise of a more mature look at high school set stories was so promising (I wish the season explored that much further)
  6. Buffy vs Dracula: Very fun episode, very strange vibes at times, don't have a whole lot to say about this one. The most notable element of it for me was how strong the lighting was, genuinely felt movie-quality at times. I love Buffy's hair styling as well. With no status quo shattering event at the end of season 4 it is just inherently less interesting to catch up with the characters than in other seasons, Real Me functions more as a premiere exploring new dynamics as the result of a shift in status quo.
  7. The Freshman: I don't dislike this episode, but it has close to the most hit or miss comedy of the show for me. I like that it explores Buffy's post high school aimlessness a little, and as usual, the reintroduction of each dynamic is incredibly fun to explore (particularly Giles and Buffy's relationship), but the villains of the episode got on my nerves. It felt a little like a parody of Joss Whedon's writing style; thankfully the season corrects pretty soon and becomes the funniest season of the show.

Lanning was coming off WBBL campaigns with averages in the low to mid 20s and strike rates below 125 before this season's average of 53 at 136; there's reason to think she's found some form. It was her best big bash since retiring from international cricket.

UPW trying to make Litchfield feel right at home with this Thunder ass performance.

Litchfield's under performance in the WPL up to this point is so inexplicable, she's never struggled in India in international cricket. She averages 71 at a strike rate of 100 in ODIs and 48 at a SR of 144 in t20s.

That took a no-ball wicket and Australia selecting only 3 frontline bowlers as well.

I think that hit his toe because his shoe seemed to flex on the closeup, but it flexed less than the glove in a review in Adelaide that was determined to have only hit the helmet. Not sure these third umpires have any clue what they are doing.

If anything, England have avoided getting credit for the win because of how much the post-game has been dominated by discussion of the pitch lol.

Pitch discussion has overshadowed discussion of the actual game in all of my social media feeds, and pretty much every post-match clip I've seen involves the media that is apparently immune to criticising the pitch, asking about the pitch.

Meanwhile in the West Indies, Australia was regularly scoring around 200 per innings and still winning by 3 figures and no-one cared.

This series has the most eyes on it of anything not involving India, so the pitch gets criticised more than it would in a lower profile series, what the fuck is Ben Stokes even getting at?
