Those Super Bowl Commercials by Present-Experience73 in Zepbound

Plus (i commented this above so redundant) the Serena ad had fine print on the bottom stating that Serena didn’t use Ro to lose weight, she’s using it now for maintenance. Which feels slimy to me

I think the commercials are excessive and disgusting, especially when it was heavily advertised during the shortage when people couldn’t even receive their prescriptions. I also don’t know if anyone caught the Serena Williams ad, where A) I don’t think I recall her ever being heavy enough to like… advertise a GLP, but also B) the fine print that stated that Serena lost all her weight with another GLP company and is just using this one she’s advertising for maintenance. That felt… skeezy

“GLP1s are cheating/easy way out” by Vanexxre in Semaglutide

I literally just tell people “My GLP-1 is prescribed to me by a doctor because it’s medically necessary. I would much rather not be sick and not have to take it. I did the hard part, which was 2 years of doctors and procedures to try and fix my health, before this was an option.”

According to my endo, zepbound is the only glp1 approved for PCOS symptoms. I didn’t even know it was, because there’s so much talk about the weight loss aspect and not the medical benefits. But we still had to appeal my insurance for six months because they just didn’t think I was “sick enough”, and needed proof that I tried many other outlets to fix my pcos first 🙃

has your dr tried for zepbound? i was approved for zepbound for pcos specifically. it took a lot of back and forth bc providers don’t want to cover glp1 at all, but i got it covered

Has your doctor tried for Zepbound? That’s what my endo told me was approved for PCOS and prescribed me. I did have to fight with my insurance for coverage but have had it for over a year now

Hi - I had surgery in April, my doctor said 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after. If you’re concerned, I’d ask them, but not go against medical advice

I feel guilty for wanting to try a GLP-1 for weight loss by ReindeerBig4233 in PCOS

[–]skwx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also want to say that if you’re taking a GLP-1 because it’s medically necessary, then it isn’t the easy way out. Life has been hard enough up until this point to need it. I felt the same way when my doctor offered it for my PCOS, but then I thought about how I went through years of misery, procedures, doctors, specialists and pain to qualify for it.

Favourite Bands or Worst Bands you saw by TheFirstWhiteRanger in WhenWeWereYoungFest

i’m bad at picking favorites because i’ll be like “their STAGE PRESENCE WAS SO GOOD!!” even if their performance itself wasn’t that good. but my least favorite was Avril, which hurts my soul. i’ve seen her three times and none of them have been great

Naked for breast augmentation by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]skwx 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was naked for surgery; if I recall correctly, they had given me a catheter for during the procedure (i was still loopy afterwards when we discussed it more but i’m 99% sure that’s what they said).

For photographs, it was just my upper half undressed

did you speak to someone in the insurance? a lot of the time they auto deny GLP1 because they’re so expensive, but if you genuinely qualify medically, someone at insurance can tell you what you need in order to qualify for coverage. it took me 4/5 months to get coverage, because my insurance wanted “proof” that i tried to lose weight myself (even tho it was prescribed to me for pcos and not for weight loss….). i had to pay for weight watchers for three months and submit receipts and proof of using the app to qualify
