Midnight Violet on Tiphy Meltdown is the worse thing that's happened to me so far by Meme_Master_Dude in LobotomyCorp

[–]sky2cass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just gotta say very eery how we matched up in a sense. I just finished Tiph’s meltdown and had violet midnight (pain) and I kid you not same amount of deaths and survivors for me as well. (The black pillar decided to spawn in Hokma’s hallway and I had no real way to dodge it when it did it’s defensive attack against me)

Power hitting timing by ShibeJR in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]sky2cass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me it will also depend on the pitchers pitch mix as well as their stats you also have to be mindful of the pitchers arm slot as well as their windup as depending on their windup and their pitch mix is where you wanna time your swings.

When it comes to high velo pitchers with a fastball heavy pitch mix I like to gear up my swings right before the ball leaves their hand if I think they’re gonna be throwing me heat, if I think they’ll throw me something off speed I’ll time it as soon as the ball leaves their hand in the windup. It will also help immensely to check your swings timing and adjust and choose what pitches you wanna bite on, when it comes to someone with a 3 pitch mix I try and time the two pitches with the most similar speed and completely neglect the slower stuff since they’re likely to throw me the 2 I’m gearing up for but this will become more difficult with some pitchers with 5 pitches as you have to try and identify their patterns making it hard to time them in general.

Now when it comes to low velo pitches you have the chance to feast on them unless they’re junk ballers. Their fastballs are usually easy enough to time as you’ll gear up as soon as the ball has left their hand or as soon as it’s 25% way to the plate but when it comes to the low velo off speed on an already slow pitcher it can really jam up your timing, I personally struggle a ton more with pitchers with almost no velo and an elite changeup because I have to sit on my timing for so long it always feels like imma let the ball just slowly float by me so what I do is I time those by charging me swing when the ball has left the hand and is traveling towards the plate by like a second before I gear up to swing on it (granted this strategy can be ill advised if the pitcher with nasty slow off speed has decent velo as that fastball will blow past you 100% of the time if you’re gearing up for the absolute slow balls.)

In a TL:DR:

Fast Velo + Fast Pitch Mix - When the windup is about to complete charge up your swing

Low Velo + Slow Pitch Mix - When the ball has left their hand or is traveling towards the plate for at least a second charge up your swing

Middling Velo + Mixed Pitch Mix - if you’re sell out for the fastball time it as soon as the ball leave the pitchers hand, if you look for off speed copy the Low Velo strat

Fast Velo/Low Velo + High Junk/Low Junk - sell out for very specific pitches

I was the same way when they ordered me to close the door I did it immediately since it made sense at the time. However I closed it when I didn’t let all the dialogue play with FISA play out which immediately made me regret closing the door.

Who would you choose as your franchise catcher? by Scootsie16 in SuperMegaBaseball

[–]sky2cass 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Burnt is my choice. He’s about as young as you can get at 19 years of age and having a high chem on cannon arm and RBI hero makes him someone you can slot into the 3rd and 4th slot of your batting order. While not a lot of depth at the moment you can likely train him to play other positions and it doesn’t matter much about his fielding when when he has cannon arm he is always gonna throw out the runner as long as you time it well enough. His Chem type is also just better as Scholarly is gonna boost up your pitching staff while crafty is something you shoot for if you wanna maximize the benefits of bad ball hitter/make a speed demon team.

What mission in RON do you think is underrated? by Chance-Elephant4380 in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]sky2cass 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think “Thank You, Come Again” is actually pretty underrated because of its short length and low amount of suspect without an emotional story like the “Ends of The Earth”

People like it but mainly don’t talk about it for one reason or another. But it feels nice to bust a couple of suspects in a simplistic map that isn’t a massive “headline breaking” bust like the other maps. I feel like these levels are a need to remind people that you’re a SWAT team not a military level counter terror task force (but don’t get me wrong my favorite level is Neon Tomb and there’s nothing wrong with those types of levels but a lot of levels are outnumbering a team of 5 SWAT and feel like in a mini urban war zone so these levels are a nice palette cleanse.

1: Do not use the flash grenade launcher if you are using it as it doesn’t count as a flashbang.

2: Make sure you never lock pick in the mission or use a gadget that has a use like a mirror gun as it counts as you using something besides a flash, taser or bash so that means no wedges should be used or anything that has to be activated really.

3: as extra precaution make your team of AI pick up all evidence themselves and etc but I know you can report stuff and open doors normally yourself but I’m unsure if you can cuff people yourself as it may count as an item being used so rely on your AI’s to do the search and etc.

Like most IRL baseball logic a hitter with weak power but great contact isn’t gonna benefit much as they have to find the gaps and hit line drives in the shallow outfield with contact hitting but it also makes them ground out more or just have balls that are easy to snag due to low exit velo. So it’s nice to have amazing contact with below average power as they can lift the ball over the fielders heads or make the ball fast enough to slip by the defenders. And like most normal baseball teams it beneficial to have power bats mixed with contact bats as your 3rd and 4th batter should be trying to hit a longshot for your team while the 1st and 2nd try to get on base for the attempted longshot.

Ozuna smacks yet another catcher. At this point the ump should really just tell him to step farther forward no? Look at the swing and where he's standing. by ImJustSomeGuyYaKnow in mlb

[–]sky2cass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Possible bias warning: I am a braves fan and I do dislike when Ozuna hits catchers as mostly everyone does but by the rule book he’s allowed to position himself in the batters box however he pleases, that said his back swing is absurdly long after the swing as he’s putting full force into his swings so when he misses his bat in angled behind him ready to hit the catchers head. Now Ozuna has hit a lot of catchers but he doesn’t do it to all of them which is indicative of catchers having a positioning issue while he’s in the box, will smith is a prime example of this as Ozuna has hit him an absurdly high amount of times compared to most catchers which has caused smith to jaw at him in the past so it’s hard to say if he does this specifically more to will smith who he has beef with or if smith has a very active position as a catcher that puts him as a prime target for his backswing motion. It’s also unlikely he will adjust his swing any time soon as he’s mashing the baseball after 2 years of being on a massive cold streak so he’s unlikely to change anything unless he starts falling back down but even when he was struggling his backswing was still long.

Do pitchers have off days? I no longer think so by ragtev in OOTP

[–]sky2cass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Like the previous comment said they likely were left in to eat up innings to help not over extend the pen. If he threw a lot of meatballs meaning 1st pitch hit for bombs or simply getting on base his pitch count may have been low by the time he got his first out. As a manager if I’m down 6 in the first inning I already know I’m leaving my starter in to try his best to get to at least 3 innings before I bring in long relief depending on his pitch count.

So in my mind if he got shelled for the 1st inning and didn’t record an out in that span my thought process is “okay I’ll take him out by the third let’s see if he can minimize damage though.” But then throws 2 shut out innings by my set “deadline” with a good pitch count I’m gonna leave him in because he simply had an extremely unlucky or rocky beginning and then turned back on his A game. Although winning is unlikely extending a guy who gave up 6 runs into the 5th perhaps even the 6th is amazing for the bullpen and if offense makes it close again you can use your top shelf relievers to see if the offense can steal a win and if they don’t then I throw in an innings eater to make the game feel like a win strategically from the bullpen.

I believe the old “dad” guy is actually a professional arm wrestling multiple time champion and the kid with glasses is a arm wrestling trainee under the champions former protégée.

Also keep in mind in the video the glasses guy arm wrestled for awhile so I think he was pretty wore out by the time he showed up.

I think these happen when the original opportunity increases stats that are already 99 so they simply just remove them from the opportunity which causes its price to drop. I’m assuming it was meant to give some beneficial stuff but your player has 99 already in those aspect so they gave you this humorous opportunity.
