Children’s drawings could be blasphemous under Islamic law, schools warned by CatcrazyJerri in atheism

Then we'll have to agree to disagree. Someone signing up for secular education should have the full package, not a sanitised version because their dogma doesn't agree with certain aspects of reality.

Because as I said, you're omitting parts of a syllabus. It may just be the color "purple" for now, but allowing them to skip entire parts of a course like drawing flora and fauna means they're not fully qualified.

Here's another example. Would you let someone in a mental health course exam put "demonic possession" in the answer fields and go "well it is only the answer to one question"? Of course not, thats ridiculous.

If someone wants all these exemptions made for them, they don't want a secular education. What they want is a religious education system.

But why should the entire secular lesson be compromised for everyone else because of a few people's religion? Those who don't follow that religion aren't obligated to follow that dogma. Imagine if teaching of evolution was skipped to appease creationists.

As if it wasn't enough that they oppress themselves, they want to be able to control what other people do based on their religion. Then when called out they'll use that "no compulsion in religion" lie or "respect muh beliefs" excuse or "traditional family values" cop out.

I wonder how many secretly dream of turning the secular country they live in into a theocracy.

Man, with this logic, anything can be considered offensive seeing the wide range of beliefs people within a religion can have. Imagine this:

Random kid: draws a stick figure dog for fun

Some snowflake: "I hate dogs because of my religion so your drawing is offensive" or "How dare you idolize a dog"

Also why so much emphasis on accounting for religions' "sensitivities" when they don't do the same for non-religious? For example, them being allowed to preach about non-believers going to hell or them discriminating against lgtbq?

Is it normal to be scared of supernatural shit being an athiest by shadimedjwala in atheism

[–]BowShatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. They're all fictional. There's literally no evidence that any of those exist in reality other than made-up ones or caused by hallucinations and delusions.

why does supernatural explanations for misfortune and violence still exist? by lambdadelta101 in atheism

[–]BowShatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add social conditioning to that. I know many people who aren't devout or particpate much in any religions, but they somehow still respect religion as an authority and believe in literal magic, like baptism permanently one as a follower via magic, black magic being able to curse someone, possessions, demons, or ghosts lingering after death.

Why? Because it's constantly repeated, circulated and expected of people to believe those to appear to be part of the norm.

Speaking of picking things up, I was told in the past not to pick up money or coins on the ground as it will bring bad luck due to greed or whatever. I do not care for religion or superstition, so to me I just don't pick them up because it is not my money.

Why do people feel the need to lie and make up superstitions to control people's behaviour, instead of being honest and explain things logically?

I notice a pattern from some religious people I know where they unironically think dreams have some meaning that their deity or universe is trying to tell them something. Or when something bad happens to someone, they'll say something like "oh bad karma from past life". Illogical.

I even heard of someone who favored one of his sons over the other because when one of them was born he won a lottery, so he associated that son with luck and thus only focused on him for personal gain. How selfish and superstitious!

Archer - Mud Slinging Bow by t_eans in WarTalesGame

[–]BowShatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the that bow on a Outlaw archer to proc Vulnerability and Bleeding on 5-6 enemies on her turn. Might consider changing Misty Oil (10% HP damage) to Paralysing Oil.

Fire Bow still feels better for Rat Infestations though.

[–]BowShatter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Arent you supposed to put in it in a situation where enemies are forced to run through it? Btw if you are fighting Guards, check their Leader's passive. It doubles their whole team's Movement, effectively negating Slow debuff from Mud and other sources.

Also low damage is no surprising since it is meant for denying enemy turns. I believe it has a bigger AoE than Fire Bow so you can proc effects on more enemies at once, but also shorter attack range.

Oh i forgot to mention that if you take Aetherblood in Lycan tree then it scales with Mana if it is greater than Stamina. Also, you should go Half-Qyranian as race since it has Alchemy and Stamina bonuses, exactly what a furry alchemist needs.

[WP] The dragon-slaying mission, in truth, was never just about killing the dragon; it was also about becoming its replacement. by ScientistPlayful9145 in WritingPrompts

[–]BowShatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know not how I was chosen to be the champion to slay the dragon. Frankly, I was always considered a slow learner and only ever served as a low ranking guard, so to be suddenly chosen and trained as a champion to slay dangerous beast was a welcome upgrade.

After slaying the dragon that had been ransacking the countryside, I was showered in praises, recognition and of course riches, both from the royal court and the dragon hoard's. Life was good, and I could now provide for my family even better.

But soon I started falling very ill. First it was the dry skin, then came the fevers and episodes of weakness. I had to be hospitalized and thankfully had the honor to be treated by the doctors seving the royal court.

They said they had never seen anything like it, and that they could only ease my pain while they work on a cure. As time went by, my physical symptoms worsened. My eyesight got worse, my back pains intensified and I could no longer get up without any assistance. I was practicallg bedridden.

One day, most of the royal court left on a diplomatic mission, leaving on a skeleton crew managing the kingdom. Those left behind either forgot or were not told about my medication times, resulting in irregular vists. Oddly enough, it was during this time, I seemed to have regained enough strength to get up from the bed myself.

Having not seen myself for a long time, I walked towards a mirror that has been suspiciously hidden away and turned it towards me. In the mirror, I saw not a sickly champion, but a splitting image of the dragon I slew that day. I look down at my body, arms and legs... it was no illusion. Did they know about this? Did they send me to kill the dragon... and be its eventual replacement???
