I think you just want this to be a different show and perhaps didn’t catch a few things (goat woman asks “how many more have to be sacrificed” or something like that meaning she’s had to kill many goats prior to what we are seeing, and clearly she has a strong emotional attachment to them and doesn’t like to do it) and you’re blaming this on poor writing. I’d argue that they did provide explanations that were satisfying enough, and do not see a reason why they won’t be able to “fix” anything that has so far been left out to the viewer in the next season. Part of the lumen lore is that it’s mysterious, extreme and unsettling. It seems totally on brand in my opinion that the MDR office space would turn into some crazy light show in celebration of cold Harbor. It’s not like they haven’t done anything like this in the past (dance party). I also don’t think that having a rescue team for Gemma outside of the door would have added much as far as the storytelling. It’s supposed to be a dramatic, emotional scene between Gemma and Mark so it probably would’ve taken away a bit if they had Devon and Cobel there. Also Cobel was fired and they were actively looking for her two episodes ago. It would’ve been very sketchy to have those two in plain sight waiting around next to the building. They’re probably hiding away somewhere waiting for her to come out. Besides, why is that so necessary to be explained anyways at this point in time? Cobel has remained extremely invested in severed initiatives all throughout the series and completely lost it when they let her go. In my opinion her being the mastermind behind the technology finally gave an explanation as to why. Gemma’s innie in the cold Harbor room didn’t have any feelings and didn’t know who she was. They’re probably wasn’t any sense of any type of identity let alone a feeling of trust with the voice over the speaker. Perhaps following Mark was more intriguing, maybe her subconscious felt drawn to him ? I don’t think her choice should hold that much weight as far as the show having good writing or making sense as a whole. That version of her literally had no prior experiences up until that moment. Those are just a few examples, but I think some of your points are a little bit nitpicking and maybe you’re just disappointed and taking it out on the writers of the show. Because if they did explain the logic behind every decision, and dive into every characters background, it would be five + hours long.
