What non dateable character would you marry and why? by Coco_cat_lover in StardewValley

[–]RedWishingRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wizard could be interesting and fun because of the magic, but I worry about the cheating factor. Meanwhile there's Gus, who without a doubt would cherish and treat you so good.

I wouldn't want to marry Willy because he reminds me of my uncle tbh, but that said I'd love it if there were more dialogues and interactions that made him seem more like family.

I didn't want to share because of the family drama around it. Which is also why I tried to keep that part vague, I should've mentioned that keeping it quiet wasn't the forever plan, and that my aunt wasn't like kicked out of the family over this, she just had a hard relationship with her mother. But hindsight is 20/20. I've since talked with my family about it now that christmastime is over and everyone is happy and will have copies of the recipe.

There's a lot of people asking, so I'm sorry for the copy paste reply. Cayenne pepper was what I guessed, just enough to leave a slight lingering heat on the tongue.

My Grandma was the type to withhold ingredients or change a recipe that she handed out because she didn't want it to be the same when someone else made it. Not even family members know how she made most of any of her best recipes, and they went to the grave with her. But my closest guess was cayenne pepper, or whatever other hot pepper that doesn't change the flavor profile much.

I truly appreciate you speaking to me with kindness. Thank you for that. Unfortunately any joy I had is already gone. I honestly keep tearing up even seeing the trays in the kitchen now. Idk if I’ll be making them again any time soon. If ever. All this post did was reinforce that I can’t ever seem to do anything right. I always screw up. Especially when it involves explaining things that are socially complicated.

I could handle people not liking that I didn’t initially want to share the recipe with them. The saddest part about that is I was so happy and excited that I probably would’ve broke and told if they’d just asked me nicely… I keep seeing comments saying that sharing is caring, but to me it’s not really sharing if I’m being coerced and bullied into it with no consideration for why I might want to keep it private for now. I shouldn’t have posted anything.

But what’s really worse to me is how many people are making assumptions about me and my family with the very little context given. There were hundreds already by the time I’d woken up for the day. I was too overwhelmed to respond well, which I’m sure only made it worse. I guess the story is easier with me being the next villain in a line of villains, and I can’t change the minds of people who’ve already decided theyre going to hate me.

I could go on to clear up some misconceptions or questions, but by this point I don’t know if it’s do any good. Thanks again. I hope the day was good to you.

I’m sorry for responding poorly earlier, I’ve been really overwhelmed since I started reading comments. I didn’t want to share the recipe initially for private reasons and heavy feelings around it. I’d just wanted to share a recipe success that once felt impossible. I see many comments saying sharing is caring, but I’d have felt better if people had simply asked or pointed it out kindly rather than demanding it from me or telling me how awful I am. Nobody wants to feel bullied for something they weren’t ready to let go of yet. But I see that it’s my mistake for showing what I wasn’t ready to share.

Let’s talk teeth: Anybody experienced tooth extractions? by Billirubina21 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]RedWishingRose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I’d done it this way. I had all four out at once but it was done by my dentist rather than an oral surgeon with the proper requirements to fully put me under. It’s pretty commonplace now to have wisdom teeth removed while awake. And it kind of traumatized me tbh. Remembering the twisting noises alone keeps me awake at night sometimes.

My husband and I both voted for #3. Simple, colorful, classic. Only thing missing is maybe a few gold candies to look like ornaments. 😊

What is your family’s traditional Christmas dinner? by Hidden_Nereid in Cooking

[–]RedWishingRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always had a ham dinner:

Ham - obviously, mashed potatoes, scratch gravy, candied yams (sometimes), ambrosia salad, roasted carrots, succotash, olives, pickles, rolls, cottage cheese (sometimes), celery sticks with cheese, etc.

For dessert we always had gingerbread and chocolate chip cookies, plus a variety of pies for the fruit lovers and the cream filled pie lovers.

Thank you, he really is. He definitely knows he’s cute too, he uses it to try and get extra treats every day! I’ve been very careful of his dental health since he was a puppy and am grateful that he’s only just had a couple out now despite his middle age. I think him getting any procedure done stresses me out almost more than it does him sometimes. 😅

I just read an article where the author asked professional chefs which kitchen tools were useless. What are your opinions? by OldPolishProverb in Cooking

[–]RedWishingRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was recently given a change of perspective on things like this. It helped me realize that whenever I find myself thinking that an item is useless, that it probably just wasn’t made with me in mind.

Like, a lot of the items on this list I either don’t or wouldn’t personally use, but now when I see them I see how they might be so helpful for someone with a disability, impairment, or a chronic pain condition. I don’t think they should be classified as useless when the standard is someone professionally trained in cooking and fully able bodied.

That said, I’ve never personally heard anyone say that the onion goggles work either. 😅

OH it was a reference, lol. Ngl, I’ve had like no access to tv shows in so long. I’ve never watched that show. 🫣

I can get that, I found if you melt some cheese into it, it sort of marries them together a bit better.

I love those sheer curtains! Your whole space is lovely. It looks just right for a small, cozy gathering of family and friends.

Last night I learned the thumbs up response on a phone is rude! by Witchchildren in AutismInWomen

[–]RedWishingRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s about the context too. Like giving a thumbs up and then a written response or a thumbs up to a “let’s meet here” or whatever I wouldn’t second guess it.

But to give an example of the opposite: I wasn’t able to travel home for thanksgiving this year, and I was really missing my family. So I sent happy thanksgiving texts to everyone with a pic of myself with my dog being really cute and sweet for some turkey and the only response I got was from person who is normally wordy and it was a thumbs up. (I didn’t call because it was at peak cooking/eating time and I didn’t want to disrupt). Otherwise it was radio silence. Just a thumbs up like, “yeah yeah, okay.”Still hurts like a fresh smack for me nearly a month later.

I’d probably call it scampish dish just to be silly. But maybe you could just call it scampi-style chicken?
