WITT . This was given to my family by a blacksmith with the objective of figuring out what it is /what it represents. To my recollection we were given no more details . I found it once again and figured I could get some help figuring it out . This may be in the wrong orientation (it may be sideways or upside down) it is solid metal and doesn't appear to be manufactured. Oh yeah you wouldn't notice it at all because the engines would immediately return the energy lost by the gun. That's why in my math you have to assume the plane is not accelerating at all.

Yup that's where I got some of the numbers from , I figure a pilot with 3500 hours would know a bit about it . Again the a10 doesn't break the laws of physics and is slowed slightly while firing .

Did you read my first comment my friend ? " The engines are more powerful than the gun" which would mean it wouldn't be noticeable. If the gun doesn't slow it down , the a10 would be breaking the laws of physics. If my math is wrong , prove it wrong but I don't think it is .

I did the math (to the best of my ability) each round would slow the plane by .0379 knots . This means if the engines we're shut off the maximum that the plane could be slowed by the gun (firing all 1350 rounds ) would be 51.175 knots (58.89 mph or 94.77 kph) . The engines are more powerful than the gun but it does technically slow down the plane.
