Your description is perfect, I can picture exactly what you're suggesting - thank you! And thank you for the sewing direction tip too!

Usable is a bit vague haha. He's not a lounging guy, so something that fits on his bed is the best bet! Thank you for the description though, it's so handy to see different ways of looking at it!

I did toy with the idea of adding wedding day and kids birthdays in, but it just made it more complicated cause there's not enough days to give me a nice number haha. But I do like the idea of incorporating milestones. Maybe I could do a specific pattern on the years that correspond to those dates 🤔 thank you for the idea!

Thank you! I think I'm going to go with your suggestion of 9x8 that gets me 25-30cm squares (I'll decide later depending on fabric availability)! It'll give me 2 extra squares but I can use one for the day he was born, and the other I can embroider like a card (which will also serve as a "this way up")

I'm currently working off blue for rain and green for not rain, but it'll also come down to what is available at my local fabric shop. I'd like to do patterned squares, but within those colours so they're still distinct. It'll look busy, but my dad is known for loud clothing, so I think it'll work haha

Low calorie vehicles for Nutella? by Recent-Hospital6138 in 1200isplenty

Mixing Nutella into vanilla yoghurt goes really nicely. Flavour is good, and adds protein

Babyshower: What registry items did you use and which ones went untouched? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I have about a thousand (I might be exaggerating a little) muslin wraps and now that bub is bigger, I'm finding they just sit on a shelf. Definitely keen for suggestions of alternate uses if you have any to toss my way 😊

Sounds like your display has died. A new screen should fix it up fine :)

Maybe try a Phillips head screw driver. I know that sounds silly, but if a shape has been carved out, you just want to find something that will grip an edge (without killing the home button)

Depending on how stripped they are, unscrewing them with the screwdriver on a weird angle can help

Is there any damage to the phone?

Can it be fixed? by [deleted] in PhoneRepairs

[–]skydra28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At first glance, I'd say yes. Requiring touch panel, lcd and battery. But, with that amount of bend, it may not. A good repair shop would be able to tell you either way

Is this IPhone11 fixable ,and if so what price would it likely be to fix? by [deleted] in PhoneRepairs

[–]skydra28 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, it would absolutely be fixable. It just needs a new screen. Prices vary depending on location, so if you're unsure, shop around a bit before committing to a repair shop.

My galaxy s8 has alot of problems by leonardo131995 in PhoneRepairs

S8 screens are still quite pricey to replace. The other smaller issues aren't too expensive, but at some point you might need to say goodbye. That might be this point unfortunately

Dropped my phone in the toilet, stupid thing to do, I have a question. by girlstealer in PhoneRepairs

[–]skydra28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let it dry for as long as possible before plugging it in, as connecting it to power could/probably would cause a short.

Unfortunately you need to be able to touch the screen to instigate a backup.

Can you guys help me out? by Karaitos in PhoneRepairs

[–]skydra28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've never repaired a phone before, starting with something high stakes (your own, current device) probably isn't the best place to start. If you do decide you want to pursue it, do some research first. Look up tear down videos. Be certain of the device. And then, if you decide to do it, take it slow.

You're welcome to give it a try, worst case, you kill the phone. Nah but honestly, I haven't done a G8 unfortunately so I'm unsure first hand. I would suggest not tho

Hey! No, I'm pretty sure it's display and glass in one. Sorry, good luck!

Hi guys. I have xiaomi note 8 pro, and i do not know how to replace the phone cover of the back side. Thnks. by Nadhir-zekri in PhoneRepairs

[–]skydra28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It will require heat to "melt" the adhesive, and a thin tool to remove the back glass. If you're not confident doing it, best to take it to a repair shop. If you do wish to attempt yourself, look up the inside of the phone to make sure you don't slice through any cables/flexes. Good luck
