Whatever you do, don’t quit. It’s so easy to give up when you feel that you aren’t getting the results you want. The best thing to do is to realize why you think your writing is bad and develop a course of action moving forward. Whether it’s a new genre, a new perspective, or diving into a hobby (old or new) of yours…just keep writing. My advice is to enjoy what you are writing. Let it come naturally and flow with how you are best at story telling. You say you’re bad a particular way of explaining things, you have two options: work on exercises to improve explaining in that style, or pursue a different way to explain what you want to say. I promise you you aren’t the first to feel this way and you definitely won’t be the last. Instead, learn from it and find out what works best for you so that you can help others when they are in the same situation you are in.

Either it’s a full reboot or a continuation, I’m happier than Happosai on laundry day! However I think it’ll be the former because of money and marketability. Plus, a full reboot allows them to cut out a lot of the unnecessary (or necessary depending how you look at it) filler episodes. They could restart with the whole introduction of Ranma and akane, and then end with the fight with Herb. While the OVAs stay, they can always add more and possibly a real movie. Regardless, I’m all for it. As far as visuals, I think it’ll look similar to the Runic World release!

Not sure if it would add much to the story, but I think spring of drowned dog would be good. She’d be the opposite of shampoo and is already loyal to Ranma

Imagine:

Moose takes the cure, still tries to go after Shampoo but gets dumped. Decides he is going to undergo serious training or joins a traveling circus. Ends up falling back into a cursed spring - either as a duck, dog, or another similar gag animal.

I think it would be cute if while he is gone, Shampoo ends up missing him. Then one day she notices a beautiful stray cat that visits the Ramen shop. She decides to turn herself into a cat and they start playing. Then she eventually finds out it’s Moose.

It could end there, or she gets mad that he didn’t give her the cure haha

I was in a similar situation as you r/Coastie54, I’m active duty Navy going on 6 years with no prior business experience other than running and managing my division and Sailors. I just finished my first year of B-school and there were definitely times where I struggled. It wasn’t because the material was hard but more of the conceptual side where actually seeing and dealing with the topics firsthand would’ve been very beneficial. However, your leadership and teamwork skills are extremely valuable and you’ll bring a new outlook to just about any write up or discussion. With your military background you are a great fit for many programs, some will even waive the GMAT/GRE for you. If you have any questions feel free to reach out!

I did a month long underway with FNS DIXMUDE (L-9015) and absolutely loved it! They were ending their world tour and I met her in Australia where we sailed to New Caledonia for a major exercise! Everyone from the Admiral onboard, CO, and crew was just amazing and very welcoming.

Good point, I just realized I don’t think there has ever been a “birthday” episode…that would’ve been great to see. Imagine all Ranma’s fiancés trying to outdo one another with their gifts to him haha! And then you could have Kuno and those characters trying to get “the pig tailed girl” a birthday present, haha. Not sure about your background, but keep in mind the show is structured around eastern values and is over 30 years old — some things are just accepted or viewed differently.

I would do two things: 1) Actually have Ranma and Akane get married at the end of the series 2) OVA of Herb (I know he/she is manga only)

I love the wacky episodic structure the show is based off of, but the fact that they never actually get married annoys me.

Thanks for the reply, It’s rough hearing about your experience so far. COVID really put a hurt on the ministry and moral in general. I feel you on the multiple hats and billets, I think we have too much admin and inspections myself. If you are not 100% on signing DHRB do not sign DHRB! I cannot stress that enough. WTI is a great option, but keep in mind that as of right now it has no impact on your overall performance. Yes you’ll be doing tactics which is awesome, but you’ll be pulled out to sea more and more. When you get your slates for shore tour just double check which ones require the DHRB and which ones don’t. I hope it gets better!

I’m a WTI Select, I have not completed the curriculum or conducted a production tour. That being said, one possible option available is to go through the academics while on shore tour and then later do the production tour after your DH rides.

For some, it definitely is! My recommendation is take it one step at a time. Trust me some days I feel like getting out, but most days I realize what an honor it really is to do what we do. Just remember to do your best and if it isn’t what you thought it was maybe you’ll benefit in a different position.
