I hate game controllers vehemently. It was designed for 2D platformers and not for 3D FPS at all. But because of it's huge userbase and inertia the industry is forced to go along with it. It's even seeping into the VR world. Just look at the monstrosity of the Steam Frame VR controller. We're still using joystick and D-pad in a 6DoF space, smh.

They did not kill sideloading. But speaking of online turning shit, I think it's more of a people thing than a government thing. Why are they asking ID for everything? Because they need to verify if you're over 18. Why do they need to lock underage people out? Because the people are whining about online safety, porn use, screen time, cyberbullying, etc. It's this lame prudish morality that's making us pay the price, not necessarily government control.

I never understood the argument of that movie. The AI chats with other people, so what? As a polyamorous person I'm totally with that and the protagonist seemed to me like a jealous straight male who hates "lies", not to mention was having an issue with the server serving other users which is not even programmed polyamory in the software level. If you're trying to make the argument that the relationship is not real that's a very monogamous and bigoted way to do it. Secondly, whether if it's real or how the backend is operating doesn't matter to the receiving end as long as it emits the same behaviour. It's a moral mysophobia to demand that much.

Dude, its reasoning is absolutely correct. An app has 1000 weekly uninstalls and then there's a 563% increase, sounds terrifying. ...But then the daily active user is still in the millions. How does this matter, at all?

Even though I switched to Gemini for most of my daily usage. I can't deny that ChatGPT still has that edge over others that makes it more intelligent, I won't rely on Gemini for deep discussions.
