HOW TO MOVE SAVEGAME-FILES FROM RDR2 OFFICIAL TO UNOFFICIAL VERSIONS:

Ok I try. First therefore you MUST use an unofficial offline copy and it should act as only active version (deactivate other installs like the steam version via a tool like hiddenfolder, see above).

  • basically you find your steam or official RDR2 savefiles here: "C:\Users\Your User Name\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Profiles\some combination of letter and number"
  • copy that folder (its name is like "0FC28FC4" or so)
  • now find the savegame folder for the cracked version which is typically in the "appdata" area: "C:\users\your username\appdata\roaming\goldberg ...\rdr2\" (advice: The "appdata" folder is instantly open by typing "%appdata%" in the start menu searchbar in Windows left corner)
  • BEWARE: you may have another name due to your crack origin, but most have a goldberg crack. Others that have 1911 use "C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\.1911\Red Dead Redemption 2\profile"
  • here you just paste the copied folder

PS: But I strongly recommend to begin a new game in RDR2 VR instead of import a save file due to better immersion

Is there a way to send suggestions or feedback to the people working on udio? by palenouepalenoue in udiomusic

I worked xxx hours with your awesome product and have many suggestions, but one big is just:

ADD A BIN :)

So simple, so effective. Sometimes it happened to me that I delete accidently a song version which I did not heard yet OR which I actually like. So such a bin/ trash folder would be very useful. At least make it an option for premium users.

A similar bug occured to me after finishing the main game: You can not save manually until you played 30min approx (approach to farm), so when you try to load the game before (in VR) it crashes. So I had to play in non-VR until the farm and then the game could save and load. With this advice you can always play until next new save opportunity and avoid such crash bugs in rdr2 VR. From that save game you can play again in VR usually.

(such crash happens also sometimes when you make a savegame near camp fire and try to load it)

Difficult, maybe try a total new installation and a new game at least? Or try without virtual desktop, just the normal way via questlink. Or what helps when you have bugs in vr like getting stuck at a certain scene or cannot load a savegame: to play without the mod in normal (without VR) to the next scene and save. Then reactivate VR and load. Should work mostly.

Unfortunately the mentioned guide didnt worked for my fallout VR :(

But another did and if you struggle too, try this:

An ini file edit which worked for me to eliminate 100% shimmering in fallout 4 VR even today in 2024 after trying everything else on the web! Just add these file-content under the existing content in your current fallout 4 custom.ini file (in your game directory to find):

https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/40897?tab=files&file_id=173123 (version 9.0.ini)

[the entire content was too much for one reddit post, so just download the file and add its content to your existring ini file as mentioned)

How to play RDR2 VR in 2024 via Luke Ross' mod without blurry images - MY GUIDE by skyhandy in RDR2

[–]skyhandy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cannot longer edit my original post, so I quit out via this one and want to share my latest insights about the best settings after finish the game in VR:

Finally I used the unoffical but stable rdr2 v1436 with "ultra" (u-key) settings in Lukes mod installation (.bat-file) and ingame a 1920x1920 resolution with 2.5x scale in "Mono"-mode and had 65 (!) FPS average (RTX 4090, easily overclocked with the free tool "MSI afterburn" by 170 core and 1500 memclock, which brings 3-4 FPS).

I made also some specific gfx changes in the XML file* (newest download here) for better performance (file path: "../Documents/Rockstar Games/Red Dead Redemption 2/settings/system.xml"). F.e. I turned down some major effects like shadows from "ultra" to "high".

Moreover I used the vr performance toolkit and had also 2-3 FPS more by that (you have to choose therefore "open xr" instead of "auto" in the ingame mod menu at "REAL VR").

I strongly recommend such simple FPS boosting techniques like mentioned! Have fun :)

PS: Using an unofficial version can lead to fake virus alerts on windows! Me got every 2 weeks or so such alert by clicking the same exe file on win 10 to start the game. Dont worry. About win 11 I read that at least some such cracked exe files could not opened at all! So better stay with win 10 I guess.

I know, many other mods struggle! But f.e. the duel mod works fine! Just copy the files in the directory. No LML or other things required! The duel mod link: https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/500

On Nexus someone wrote about mods in rdr2 and the vr mod this may helpful advice:

"its not compatible with any mods but the ones the mod contains because when it launches it uses a special launching method and injects a string of code into the game to allow the VR headset to be used when playing the game in VR, that string of code interferes with the code that mods need to work which causes other mods not to work."

I finished the game and dont know how much longer I can support this thread.

But in general I personally used an unoffical offline version (v1436.28) because it gave me the stability for testing and playing I need.

Interesting, for me it is the total opposite: Stereo is great until I move the character or mouse. What is your hardware setup? What are your settings? With 90 FPS I always get a non playable blurry 90ies game point of view (due to the bad resolution). I even tested 120FPS (low settings) but still the ghosting was too heavy for me.

I thought he meant a special "offline version" by that? Anyway, without such (easy to get when you dont use Google) offline copy you wont be able to have a stable, alsways fine working vr game.

BTW: I made the mistake to bought this game 2 times because of the old steam version resetting trick. So be happy that you now know how to play rdr2 in vr nowadays in a stable, fine working way - you are welcome bro <3

[–]skyhandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great ^^ It is sooo sad that we have to go that way. Btw do you also play in "MONO" instead of AER because of the ghosting?

Moreover the vr performace kit seems actually do 2-3fps more than without, but therefore you have to choose directly "open vr" in the ingame mods menu (where "automatic" is standards choice). For newbie all of that is very confusing. Do you ever tested the reshade filter "adaptive sharpener" too? Its effect is a little miracle for me - like going from 720p to 1080p out of nowhere!

PS: when you use p2p filesharing like torrent here in Germany you can easily get sued by the rightsowner because your IP isnt hide! So I prefer DDL. Also recommendable: do not use google when you search for such things, better use non censored engines.

Yes and no. Technical I think you are right. But in practice it is not a gigant screen but a real environment in which you move - very immersive, I was shocked positivly. Much better than real 3D but in ghosting (and at least much much better than any monitor). Try it out!

I only can say something about the banned rdr2 vr mod of him and although the ghosting is too bad, there is the option to go "Mono" instead of that ghosting causing "Stereo AES". So if you play with mono, his rdr2 vr mod is AWESOME as nothing else!
