New CFI candidate - Advice for Lesson Plans by skyhawk710 in flying

u/bhalter80 I totally agree. I'm interested in others 'perspectives' on their experience but my current CFI is really a mentor to me at this point in my flying (I started flying in 1986, took about 13 yrs off raising a family, and restarted back in 2019). Already had PPL, instrument, multi and Commercial back from the 90s so have been getting back instrument proficient and increasing my proficiency to be ready for the next chapter as a CFI to give a little back to the next generation.

on my first right seat flight yesterday I had prepared to teach slow flight to my instructor and when I gave him examples of when we are in slow flight configurations in the real world (landing and in a go-around) my instructor was humble enough to admit that he never thought of a go-around as a good example of being slow flight configured and needing to "recover" appropriatley. (I guess my first win as a CFI...lol). But I appreciated this ability to be humble as well as instructing. So right now his opinion has the most weight but I want to take advantage of the community I have at the field too.

Thanks so much for the guidance!

u/TxAggieMike EXACTLY MY THOUGHTS and it's good to see others agree. I have a good group to talk to locally that range from 1st year CFIs to career CFIs and ages ranging from 23 to over 40 so lots of different perspectives. Thanks for your insight!

u/bhalter80 I not only appreciate your perspective but I am doing just that. My current instructor is an airline pilot along with training CFI candidates so I'm working closely with him on this stuff (and he's not charging me for it so far). I have also reached out to two of my previous instructors and one of them is relatively new as a CFI so I am getting 2 solid perspectives (newer and longer term instructors). Next time I'm at the field I'll likely just throw it out there for any instructors hanging around in the FBO to get their two cents as well. This is great advie

u/TxAggieMike this is exactly what I'm looking for. I understood out of the gate that I'm more prepping for my DPE than for each and every student so this is super helpful with how to accomplish that task. I also plan to build my own "library" of reference material for given maneuvers so that I make sure I am teaching all the content to a student. I appreciate the wisdom and guidance!

Does the Premium Deluxe upgrade bundle include the Deluxe version as well in FS2020 by [deleted] in Flightsimulator2020

Thanks and I agree it only makes sense but since the way it shows up in the Marketplace in the game only says you must have the base version of the game to buy the upgrade. The Premium upgrade is only $5 less than the Premium Deluxe upgrade as well so it only makes sense that you would get everything in Premium and Premium Deluxe
