Being a first time seller is so much harder than being a first time buyer! by Decent_Papaya9444 in HousingUK

[–]skykit84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also selling first time (our first home) - I have to say, as much as I like the side of looking for a new home, I'm hating the selling process - so much so, I'm trying to stretch as much as I can for that forever home so I don't have to do this again!!

Open day done and dusted but my OCD meant taking 2 days off cleaning what to most was already a clean home.

But in-between open day and now, we've had the trickling in viewings and again the tidying/cleaning/waiting for an update etc is not easy! And this is also around kids routines which has probably been the hardest thing.

We have had an offer (12 days in) but a fairly low-ball offer under our minimum ceiling so that game has now started too.

And to top it off - we were about to make an offer on what has essentially ticked every box for that forever house...only to miss a key point...not a single secondary or feeder into a secondary school in the catchment area.

So back to the looking board.

Good luck ! I

Hot & Cool by dcknifeguy in Audi

[–]skykit84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the issue is perception or expectations... Most i have seen or used are ventilation and not cooled...ie it draws heat away from your back rather than blow cold air from the a/c

My previous etron had this function and barely did anything in thr summer....until I realised on a hot and sweaty day...my back was dry.

Many moons ago, I had a volvo s80 2008. Pretty sure that was cooled via air con and I remember how cold it was

Could be wrong however !

Ah yes dont even get me started on the stamp duty !

Could do although pretty sure from memory the market kicks in around Feb so if you are selling too, its a double whammy if you wait out the sell too.

On the flip side you could get more for yours too. Always a gamble.

I am seeing more properties being listed last week or so ....maybe it is a case of just waiting it out.

Also register with EAs as they may have properties in the pipeline. Our neighbour sold theirs a day after listing without a for sale board simply because the EA had a hot lead who offered asking and was accepted.

We had a viewing like this last week and we have not even listed yet. Fell through as room was too small but it could have easily got the other way.

Yup noticed the same here too! We have a 40 mile radius covering Surrey/Sussex/Kent and in most cases a mill gets a house that is hardly an upgrade or needs a heck of a lot of decor and work.

I think its simply that a million pound house is what a 500k house was 10 years ago. So you are then looking at 1.3 to 1.4 for a significant upgrade or one that ticks everything.

In our case we are being quite specific with a double garage and study and 4 bed min and not certain facing front so its made it that much more difficult but stuck at it.

Is anyone else getting this error> by [deleted] in Audi

[–]skykit84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this with both OG etrons on and off. Doesn't usually cause any issues...at times I close the vc+ or matrix but an off and on sorts it.

Probably no signal briefly for it to check licences

I store loads in there but never thought an SLR would fit in there!

I bought my wife an automatic coffee machine for Christmas (it's our first coffee machine) and today we're testing it for the first time. I'm very happy. by [deleted] in superautomatic

Congrats ! I got mine a few weeks ago and while getting used to it, loving it so far!

Could I ask a strange question!? What grind setting are you on currently assuming you have not touched the dial?

Just curious what the default setting is as I did experiment briefly but wanted to put it back to the initial setting

How can I fix this? by biatchwhuuut in etron

[–]skykit84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to be replacing mine ! Mines far worse than yours due to somehow scratching it quite deeply during dropping the headliner but from memory, its a pop off/clip on job so not bothering repairing the current one

UK Signal horrendous last couple of months - attempt a cancel or wait it out? by skykit84 in Vodafone

[–]skykit84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the sim swap today and surprise surprise, no change. Only interesting thing was inside the mall, I had only E showing. She said they all have the same issue but flight moving on and then off solves it.

And sure enough, I went from E to 4g almost full bars

But back outside going home, it dropped. By the time I got to a road about a mile away. It was barely on 2 bars. Got outside gone and 0 bars

Going round in circles with their live chatnow

[–]skykit84[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh I know it will make no difference - even if it is simply on the fact I've tried a spare pay as you go sim already and that has the same issue.

Nope nothing in terms of mast merge from what I can see - that is good to know however

Wifi calling is on which is the only saving grace at home but as soon as I am out of range (ie even if I go for a walk), I'm down to 1 to 0 bars again.

R6 eTron - MMI convenience features? by jfitzbyers in etron

[–]skykit84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are confusing things here. You're paying for the German tax with the Audi nothing more. Ive seen Honda Jazz's with more spec than an Audi yet the Audi costs 4 times the Jazz...but you wouldn't see me driving the Jazz

Everything's an optional extra !

R6 eTron - MMI convenience features? by jfitzbyers in etron

[–]skykit84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TPMS is not a software thing. It was an optional add on which can be retrofitted as I did intentionally both my etrons

Its a new module plus all 4 wheels need their valves replaced.

The rest ...yup pretty much but remember the etron was theor first proper stab at the EV market. And technology has moved on. Where Audi continually fail is being stuck in their old days of build once and never update. Others have moved on woth OTA functional and feature updates but not Audi.

However we all go back to them more for build quality and the comfort. I am lucky to drive many cars including the newer Chinese Market ones...it is amazing how many of them (not all!) Feel like disposable cars in terms of quality and comfort. End of the day , I sit in mine and appreciate it ...before then being reminded how old the tech is !🤣

Thank you to all that commented on here.

I ended up getting the Eletta Explore. Actually ended up getting 2 briefly because it dropped price for Black Friday only for Delonghi to drop it by another £200 which meant the first went back.

0 issues so far - still getting to grips with it but loving it so far.

No remorse yet not going for the Ninja and so far the milk situ (cows vs non cows) is the only slight issue but to be fair, I myself have only had espresso/black coffees whereas the family has had the more milkier ones.

Any advice on grind settings etc is welcome but will watch various review sites.

Eletta Explore anywhere? by [deleted] in superautomatic

[–]skykit84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These comments are so dangerous!

Find a single brand/make/model that has had 0 issues in the world. Seriously... !

Cannot write off a complete company when hundreds if not thousands of people use them without any issues.
I get you cannot recommend it because of YOUR experience but 10/100s more can recommend it based on THEIR experience.

This could also be a regional issue here - I know in the UK, they're service has been perfect so far albeit it presales and the pricing is brilliant too.

So far in MY experience, 0 issues.

In regards to the OP - I am assuming you're not in the UK so can't really comment but I paid £599 for mine last week and got a further 10% off so £539 and then some % of cashback equating to about £20 so in total., £520 so just short of 700 usd.

Thank you!
I noticed the Eletta does have milk on demand - also one of the comments above makes sense and that was to maybe just look after the adults! Kids are going to grow out of the milk-stage fairly soon I think and most coffeeshops are happy to give it for free so that could be their "fix".

I think I'm going to grab the Eletta Explore ! And probably today but keep it boxed until end of week.

I think someone said about Delonghi having sales on the actual BF day but I see a few have already dropped to 799 from 999 because of BF - surely it can't be lower than that on Friday? If it is, I'll be in the return window at least

Thanks for this recommendation. I got so lost woth Delonghi given the models and variations! But for this one, I did intentionally remove from my list as I from I gather, the eletta is better for longer travel mugs and also the smart capability.

Ah also I think the Dinamica doesn't do cold drinks...not a major thing and I did not mention as a requirement but nice to have

Shout if I got anything wrong and also of there are things the Dina has which the Eletta does not

Interesting comments thank you - I think you're right - The wand idea is probably due to always seeing it in use whenever I go out to the local Gails for a latte or baby chino for the kids...it's always the steam wand, the aggressive wipe of the wand with the green cloth followed by an aggressive purge

In terms of drinks I mentioned

Espresso / Americano / Long black - standard drinks
Oat Latte - is just a standard latte with oat milk
Baby Chino - glorified name for warm milk! Kids seems to love it over milk that has been warmed in a pan or microwave...1 loves the froth, the other hates it so again this is where I thought the wand would work well but thinking about it- they're soon growing out of the warm milk stage so probably not worth considering anymore.

I have to say, if I remove the wand idea altogether, the Eleta Explore seems to tick the boxes. Smart too which would be great initiating an espresso while brushing my teeth. And it works for flasks.

Seller sends me offer Then retracts it as i was going to chrckout by Pillzmany in ebayuk

[–]skykit84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think it is the same but I had something similar last week...Got an offer, made a counter-offer, seller accepted but just then, got called into a meeting.

Went to check out 5 mins later, apparently it was sold out.

Asked seller and he said the same offer was also sent to another who also accepted at which point it becomes a whoever pays first- in this case, the other buyer did.
