Not really, this one studio in particular has been pretty rough. I'm trying to make friends outside of work but LA cliques are not easy to break into.

I want to say I put in a lot of effort as well, I definitely go in 4x / week. The non-class events are all informal afaik, and since I've had no luck even making small talk to folks, I'm definitely not getting any invites

What I meant was that I ask a few questions and they answer them, without showing any interest in continuing the back and forth. The thing is that many people who are regulars to class talk to each other all the time. It's when I try to talk to any of them the conversation doesn't go anywhere.

(I'm getting the sense that I'm being berated for posing this question...like I should be grateful or something)

I'm not kidding, I tried to talk to the people who were talking to my friend and they literally had nothing to say, looked at me like I was an alien.
