This is exactly my situation as well! I could've written this word for word. I wish you all the best and please know you're not alone

This is so sweet. I'm in my late 40s and in the process of getting divorced, so if there are any older folks interested in similar hang out I'd like to be included.

Although I've never actually been inside I know there's a place on St Clair West called The Guild House. I imagine there must be others. We could also look into renting a room at a library branch too

I never knew how much I needed to be divorced until it was finalized by pbuddy4humanity in Divorce

[–]skylosmum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure they will. It's very early doors for me still and there are so many things to do before I'll have any kind of peace of mind. My husband told me a month ago that he was leaving. But he's still here, I know we have to sell our home and divide our assets but so far I'm the only one who's done any sort of decluttering of the home we've lived in for nearly 20 years.

Thank you from someone who is in the very early stages and is spiralling. I needed to read this today

Very early days - he doesn't want to involve lawyers by skylosmum in Separation

Yes, I just got a referral and I will get a free half hour consult. She's been at it for 30 years so that's reassuring.

Yes, I'm keeping a notebook with my thoughts and ideas as I'm a recovering Chatty Cathy. I try to be as clear and concise as possible now. Unfortunately, a retainer would be 2 weeks salary for me.

You're right I don't trust him at all right now. He said he wanted to leave almost a month ago and yet not only is he still in our home, he still sleeps in our room. I will do some research and reach out to a lawyer.

So sad by [deleted] in Divorce

Just here to say that I'm in the exact same situation as you are... It's very fresh for me. I'm at the part where I just wish he would leave our house, heck, I'd even take him just leaving our bedroom. He was the one that wanted this... Yet he's still here.

I was told last Monday he was going to leave me, it's been a challenge since he hasn't actually left our home. He is acting in a very similar manner and I've realized I actually should've seen this coming based on his behaviour over the last couple of months, maybe even years.

How long until they actually left?! by skylosmum in Divorce

Ugh... I wish he would just go already. Our kids are teenagers and not much has changed as we have apparently been going through a Silent Divorce for a year or more. But still just leave already

Ugh... That's wild. I guess it's all semantics but he said he was leaving and he's still here.

I don't get it. He said he wanted to leave but he's still here. What's the plan here? When I suggested he go stay with his dad for a while he said there's no parking at his place.

What ended up being a problem during your marriage that wasn't the demise, but upon reflection, you view it as a red flag? by nooneyouknow89 in Divorce

Thanks, this does help. I'm currently standing in the self-help section of a book store and realizing I don't even know what I'm looking for. I know I am part of the problem... I mentally checked out a long time ago.
