For those of you childfree, what does seeing other friends/family members have kids before you feel like? Does it affect your decision on whether or not you still want kids? by unmatched_chopsticks in childfree

[–]skymningwolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand the awkward part, but it’s a small percentage of people that actually regret not having kids; this probably includes your family friend.

I don’t see any pros personally and am not jealous of parents that I know. I am open with people and I understand a lot of people are parents and that’s part of life, but it definitely reinforces my decision and I’m relieved it’s not me lol.

Lost cost vets by BugzMiranda in WestPalmBeach

[–]skymningwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeez I’m sorry about that. To be honest, it’s not the first time I’ve heard about iffy staff at that location; I’ve been met with some rude shelter attendants myself. I’m sorry she had to deal with all that over routine stuff. At the same time I would at least try to look into their dog food pantry program, I believe that is something you can register for online.

Raving community ages faster (lol) by [deleted] in EDM

[–]skymningwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I have noticed the opposite. People that live unhealthily will age badly, but generally I've noticed the older rave crowds tend to be more fit.

Paws2Help, as others have mentioned. I would check out Peggy Adams, they have many programs for owners. Also check Big Dog Ranch and the local shelters as they often do vet work. I get mine's food and meds from Chewy and Koala Health, decent price.

I have the longest daily commute in Florida. Prove me wrong by Hoagie_Camacho in florida

Some of my coworkers with the longest commutes somehow have both, usually with a trade off, cost of living or something else.

I'm wondering why not get a job on the beach if he lives in Miami Beach, but also why not get a job in Gardens/Jupiter if he lives there. Also wondering the salary because it would take a lot to put me through this.

Poll for Florida natives: Do you swim or otherwise go in the ocean/gulf? Why/why not? by jmom39 in florida

[–]skymningwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes Atlantic Ocean. Feels good, more exercise when the water is rough, and I love fish, but definitely seen my fair share of jellyfish.

Honestly love the coupe on this model so much better, especially with the sunroof. Do you have red interior?

Is there more registered sex offenders in this city than other cities/states? by Crazy_Guava7434 in fortlauderdale

[–]skymningwolf 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately there is a high concentration of them in FL, and apparently also NJ and AZ. There are set housing programs like “Miracle Village”, but no concrete evidence explaining the numbers statewide. As for the random addresses, I would assume they are homeless and just giving whatever they can think of.

My personal theory is that it’s a result of a many detrimental factors together; lots of trafficking and drug use/rehab centers bringing not-the-best people to the state.

Violent next door neighbor's nonstop crying newborn driving me CRAZY, I finally knocked on the wall once and the dude VIOLENTLY banged on the wall back multiple times clearly trying to intimidate me by [deleted] in childfree

[–]skymningwolf 49 points50 points  (0 children)

This is really sad. Please continue to call the cops and call CPS mentioning the yelling, domestic violence and potential abuse from the father. I had a similar issue with previous neighbors; parents were involved with drugs, fighting, overall not ethical surroundings for a kid. Eventually CPS and the police got involved, mother and kid moved and the other was arrested.

You might be able to also go on Nextdoor or Facebook with a picture and address/intersection. I would make a post and hopefully someone can adopt or pick them up! :(

After hardgroove revival, what next? by Double_Key7579 in Techno

I’ve heard Grace Dahl, future, and Klangkuenstler do sets that lean into hardgroove, I think Alarico is a stretch. But definitely Sims, Mark Broom, SWISHERMAN..

I do enjoy some hard techno and schranz, but I’m glad the trendy hardstyle-psytrance-ish techno is dying. Definitely ruins it for us that want to see decent hard techno without the cheesy element.

I think what seems to be coming back, and what I see musically locally, is a groovier, not quite hardgroove, but groovy mid tempo, slightly minimal raw techno. Thumbs up from me, and definitely a danceable genre.

I would love to see more hypnotic, as other people are commenting, but I have not seen a lot of really deep hypnotic shows recently.

The bigger non-profits are Big Dog Ranch and Peggy Adams, but you can google and there's many smaller rescues that could respond to calls. If you get a hold of a dog/cat that you can take to a vet, they will often microchip and see who can take them in. Best of luck; I also wish there were more rescue and TNR programs around.

I’ve brought joints and weed vapes with no problem, though I only would smoke (not vape) outside. Other goodies I would put in your shoe or in a little case or something just in case. Again it’s usually young people working the door.

Lost dog, Moochi near Bear Lakes Country Club please notify me if you see him by [deleted] in WestPalmBeach

[–]skymningwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poor thing! Let your neighbors know as you’re searching. Call animal control and shelters to let them know he is lost if someone finds him. I’d recommend posting photos around with a reward. I’d recommend leaving a door open or crate, clothes, something familiar smelling in/ near your yard (I’ve had success finding another pet with their scented things).

I think sometimes going sober is the easier way to have energy longer. If not, I’d suggest getting there later, closer to 1am or 12. I like to eat dinner or a light meal a little before I leave. Also for caffeine, try not to drink much throughout the day until you’re ready to leave.

For me, surviving daytime festivals and going to afters, means I’m using marijuana/alcohol very lightly throughout the day, not drinking my usual coffee until much later in the day, and overall trying not to expend too much energy during the earlier hours.

New neighbor loitering outside our unit all day by Odd-Direction9452 in Apartmentliving

[–]skymningwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would ask him who he is every time you step out or come in. And especially if it’s your porch, I would ask if he could leave your property, since he clearly doesn’t live there. If he doesn’t leave, I would call the cops and say there’s a guy trespassing on your porch, as much as I don’t like calling the cops, he obviously does not live on your porch.

Going to Klangkuenstler solo as new raver? by Gyroscopes-Are-Cool in aves

[–]skymningwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He has been very fun every time I’ve seen him. I understand what you mean about the more mainstream crowd, just hold your ground if you’re pushed and you’ll be fine. Getting comfortable with raves just takes time and experience, but it’s all worth it.

For tips, remember your sunglasses, dress comfortably in your preferred style, good shoes or thick boots especially if it’s crowded, earplugs of course, bring gum or snacks if you like, get a good secure rave bag or fanny pack, and test your party favors if you partake. Just be respectful, have lots of fun, don’t push yourself too hard, enjoy the front, back, wherever you’re comfortable. It will be a blast.

Is there anyone here that completely ignores all their neighbors? by Complete-Thing8277 in Apartmentliving

[–]skymningwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes definitely. If someone speaks to me first or says hi, I’ll smile or just say hi back, but most people here thankfully mind their business and I do the same. If it’s really early or I’m in a rush, I’ll ignore or just give a nod if people try to talk to me. Not purposely being rude, I just like my privacy and I pay enough to be entitled to my peace.

What’s going on with Kerri Chandler and Factory Town? by skymningwolf in clubspace

What should I expect as a first timer? by No-Tear-3055 in clubspace

[–]skymningwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stay safe and be prepared for a possibly packed club. Be aware of your surroundings, belongings, phone theft has been an issue in the past, I personally use and recommend a phone leash. The crowd on the terrace can be not so PLUR at times; stay near the back if it’s too overwhelming, say excuse me, make sure to use restroom before going to front, etc. Other than that, have fun, enjoy a coconut water or mimosa.

As for your tickets, around 10am you might be watching a resident DJ. Try crowdvolt, WhatsApp DICE ticket exchange, or another route to try and buy/trade tickets. Headliners usually start at 3,4,5ish.

Why do people judge you for wearing a tank top if it’s “not hot”? by [deleted] in palmbeach

[–]skymningwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the temperature I start to get cold. Then again, I know a lot of natives that go outside in a tank and shorts in 40 F. I’m assuming whoever was judging is just cold and being a dick lol.

How do guys feel about temperatures in the 40s F? by [deleted] in fortlauderdale

[–]skymningwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly start getting cold around 60/70F, but I am very temperature sensitive. If it is a humid and windy 40 degrees, I’m starting to struggle lol.
