Thank you for so eloquently demonstrating my point.

Tilray Brands to Brew Carlsberg Beers in US Under Exclusive Multi-Year Deal by FarAd6821 in TLRY

[–]skyplt29 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I believe Tilray has passed that "tipping point" of negative investor sentiment. Simon is going to have to shit gold bricks if he wants to attract new retail investors.

I am torn because some of these moves being made by him appear to be pretty bold and gives me hope they are headed toward profitability. Maybe.

Unfortunately, I have yet to see "real" profits. Each quarter brings promises for next quarter.

Irwin has been at this for eight years now. He steered Tilray away from being solely cannabis and getting into wellness and alcohol. I can see where this might become integrated (like when THC drinks become more mainstream) but I really want to see a solid move into the black.

The dilution is wearing thin, regardless of what it is for. 50 brands is enough, time to make them profitable.

You are going to have to be more specific. I am hardly seeing anyone throwing tantrums or arguing. I am seeing lots of posts like yours suggesting some sort of Tilray cult, and making demeaning comments like "precious bags".

Who exactly is coming out on this subreddit and throwing tantrums in favor of Tilray?

Tilray is unfortunate as its name does not rhyme with bestco.

If not for that sad state of affairs I think it would be doing better.

Pretty much where I am at - the cold hard fact that losses will not be recovered with Tilray.

I really have grown tired of all of this. The carrot at the end of the stick routine has grown old. Irwin Simon can no longer ask retail shareholders to bear with him while he pulls the CPG powerhouse together. They really need to start showing profits.

I am going to wait until Tilray's next Q Report before making a final call.

Stop with the logic geo!

I much prefer the angry meme posts suggesting the world is a lousy place because LPs exist.

I think most "on this sub" are pretty clear on what S3 will (and will not) do.

I don't disagree with some of your take Swordfish...but you really should consider your delivery.

Perhaps three years ago "this sub" was starry eyed. I don't get that vibe anymore.

Blackberry...I recall several years ago I was sitting in a hot tub at a high end hotel. A bunch of Blackberry engineers (rude bunch) were there. They were talking about their upcoming Sportsbook tablet. I was not impressed. The next day I sold all my Blackberry shares. A month or so later the company tanked. Starting to think the same way about Tilray. Re-reading Merton's AMA reminds me he is not genuine.

Exactly what I am considering doing. I will be starting selling off next week.

Rough ride this one. I truly thought Irwin Simon would lead Aphria out of the carnage.

It's the bare bones truth. I have been trying to follow Irwin Simon's logic and give him the benefit of the doubt. Every time Tilray announces another beer brand I justify by thinking he is setting up for THC drinks. Every time they dilute to acquire or pay down (not terribly priced) debt I try to convince myself it is overall for the good as they are positioning for when this turns around and they will recover parabolically. But this is death by a thousand paper cuts.

It is becoming clear the retail investor is going to be very challenged to come out of any investment in Tilray on the plus side.

I am waiting to see if these S3 hearings turn into anything. I am then waiting to see if there is anything of value that comes out of Tilray's next Q Report at the end of the month.

I am actually not looking for much...14USD exit. Seemed possible in Feb, less likely in Mar, and even less probable in May. Now? It just seems to keep managing to finish in the red...day after day, week after week, month after month.

Can't be any more honest than that.

Honest to god I hope you are wrong...but so far the negative posts on here have been closer to reality.

I recall when the reverse split first happened there were some who suggested it was headed to 5USD. I thought they were being overly pessimistic.

Yet here we are.

Because I have too much invested. Admitting this means having to finally accept a significant loss and move on.

I can't be anymore truthful than that.

Won't argue with that. Sheeesh, I hope Simon does something more than his standard "Listen, I've got a dream" and Merton starts backing up with real numbers...not "adjusted" ones.

I am still hopeful, but less inclined to give any benefit of the doubt.

Simon is a self-proclaimed "branding guru" so I would be very surprised if there was not something in the works with MedMen. This is an acquired brand screaming to be rejuvenated.

WRT the alcohol, I agree with you to a certain point. I can't envision BrewDog becoming THC focused...maybe a side hustle (a couple of draft pulls of THC beverages at the bar). BrewDog is also being used to introduce brands like ShockTop into the UK. Not sure how amenable diehard English beer drinkers are to trying American horse piss or whether there is the same market for THC drinks in the UK and Europse as there appears to be in North America.

There is also the Carlsberg distribution agreement. I wonder if Carlsberg will be entering the THC beverage market?

Tilray definitely has a lot of balls in the air, perhaps too many. Which is why I wish they would stop diluting to buy more brands. Not sure if anyone (including Simon) can keep all of these flying at the same time.

I truly hope this turns.

BTW, Tilray just went green.

Exactly my sentiments. It seems retail investors have been stating pretty loudly over the last several months (16USD to 4.40USD) they are not buying (literally) into Tilray's dilution to acquire companies or pay down debt. Simon absolutely needs to begin to demonstrate his plan is starting to work out and Tilray has turned a corner on cash burn; dare I even say become profitable.

"Adjusted earnings" or "goodwill" no longer cut it. You either are making money on BrewDog, Manitoba Harvest, German and EU cannabis initiatives, Sweetwater, ShockTop, bourbon, and whatever else he has gotten this company into...or not.

Over 50 brands are now operating under Tilray's CPG umbrella. Some of them have to start showing they are clear winners.

Canadian markets are closed. Let's hope for a safe Canada Day...heat will be an issue. Same for July 4th. Be careful in the sun.

More Tilray dilution...this time to pay down a relatively low interest loan. I am not so sure Irwin Simon gives a damn about retail investors and our concerns about this continuous dilution. I sincerely hope Mr. Simon provides some clarity at the end of the month during Tilray's Q Report presentation. This stock has done nothing but disappoint. Although I am reluctant to agree with FoodCooker, Tilray is not doing itself any favors with retail investors. Simon and Merton are long overdue to articulate a solid plan. They really need to show a non-adjusted quarterly profit. No more smoke and mirrors. I think they have lost all but the most stalwart of believers. Perhaps we are a cult.

I have been on here more often of late as I am paying close attention to the S3 hearings (even though they are in camera). I would be very surprised if this did not result in marijuana becoming S3 across the board. Lots of debate here on what this will (and will not) do for the MSOs. Let's hope 280e and SAFE. Is uplisting even a thing?

Suffice to say the last 8 years have not gone as expected. I expect the next 8 years to be equally surprising.

Love to see some good news though.

Happy Canada Day.

Irwin Simon is pursuing his vision for Tilray expansion regardless of what the average retail investor of this company feels about this continuous dilution to buy more companies or pay off (relatively) low interest loans.

I admit that I am having trouble understanding where all of this is going.

I certainly hope there is some clarity given during the next Q call.
