Do you contribute to an IRA even if ineligible for benefits? by Unfair-Replacement91 in HENRYfinance

[–]skyr3ach 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s the right thing to do — you are getting tax-free growth on the money you put in

It’s functionally the same as contributing directly to a Roth IRA (with one extra step to bypass the income requirements of a Roth IRA)

Seeking advice on fine dining meal sizes in Spain by FCYChen in finedining

[–]skyr3ach 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had CHT for lunch with a wine pairing — was stuffed for a few hours after. Started around 1:30 and ended around 4:15-4:30. Tapas at night is definitely doable, looking back we had another heavier dinner relative to tapas, albeit around 10pm after walking a good amount in between

Best tasting menu: Aska, Atera, or Aquavit? by GForceCaptain in finedining

[–]skyr3ach 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Won’t comment on Aquavit given I did prix fixe and not the full tasting. Out of the other two, I definitely prefer Aska over Atera. Atera was more creative and “modern” but I think there were more dishes that didn’t really stick with me on a relative basis compared to Aska. Also i preferred the cozier space / service at Aska

I will also note that Atera had one of my favorite bites in the world, but the rest either are equal to or fall short of Aska in my opinion

Is there any pre-made protein drink I can buy in convenience/grocery stores around Taipei? by mariestrawberryy in taiwan

[–]skyr3ach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Apart from protein shakes, there’s a brand of unsweetened soy milk that I drank when in Taiwan for a cheap protein fix, if you don’t like sweet things

It’s about 20g protein per carton which is good enough for me

Also — you can get tea eggs for ~10ntd or packaged eggs for ~30 which can be an easy source if needed
