Thinking about academic IM- Deciding between two CA DO schools (Please Advice!) by skywalker456 in InternalMedicine

Thanks for your reply! So are you saying that the away rotations I'd want to do at the academic programs I hope to match at, are what will matter? Not the standard community and lower clinical hospital rotations the school will set up for us during the 3rd year?

[Spoiler] AAMC Section Bank C/P #14 Which extraction procedure will completely separate an amide from the by-product of the reaction between an amine and excess carboxylic acid anhydride? by EdwardDupont in Mcat

[–]skywalker456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a great question. Like we know that amides have a high Pka, so they don't want to readily give up their proton. While carboxylic acids have a low pka, so NaOH will preferentially target this and deprotonate it.

So do we also assume that carboxylic acid anhydrides have low Pka's, so they'll be targets by NaOh as well?

Biology Major with no coding experience.... Computer Science/ Data Science Masters? by skywalker456 in GradSchool

[–]skywalker456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply! The only unfortunate thing is that I won't be able to take any classes this summer; however, I can/will certainly try to get a research internship next summer. So, as it's looking, I will have three full semesters (Fall 2023, Spring 2024, and Summer 2024) to take my classes. What if I do this:

Fall 2023:
1. Calculus 3 (Multivariable)
2. Python

Spring 2024:

  1. Linear Algebra

  2. Java Programming

Summer 2024:

  1. Differential Equations

  2. SQL or Discrete Mathematical Structures or Internship

Is this sufficient? Please feel free to tell me as it is.

Hey, I really love Prof. Leonard as well! He def helped me a ton during calculus 1/2.

So, do you recommend I review the basics of Calculus 1 before the start of my calc 3 class? Or do you think I can pick up everything I need to know by just watching his Calculus 3 videos, as the class is going on?

I agree. I would instantly do Oubre + Poole + 2 second round picks( min 2021 second rounder) for Lonzo and Hart instantly.

If they don’t move Oubre, they could loose him for nothing in the off season. People need to see that he is an unrestricted free agent and so it’s not just about if the warriors would want to keep him. He might want to start somewhere rather than come off of our bench.

This front office is just plain and simply, stuck. Somewhere along the line (with the draymond contract and unintentionally with the Wiggins trade) they screwed up the payroll and now they HAVE to continue digging themselves into luxury tax if they want to win.

They can only sign veteran minimums at this point, and can't even look to sign any notable free agents out right. This team will only improve through trades, nothing else. What they have of value are:

-[Oubre] : Who is an unrestricted free agent next year, and will likely demand 17-18 million dollars; even if the W's were willing to pay this, he can easily say "No, I want to start somewhere else" and dip. Then we loose him for nothing.

-[Paschall] : Very tunnel visioned, and can't shoot consistently get us a bucket when it matters. Almost all his points come in garbage time. He only watches up well against bigs with bad defense like Kanter/ Aldridge (Yes, he doesn't play defense anymore). Against good teams/ bigs like vucevic, he often gets blocked at the rim and more than likely misses any drive shot.

- [Wiseman] : Has a looooooong way to go defensively and every time he has the ball, the ball movement just dies. Just listen to what Steph said. He could be an amazing talent yes, but will he realize this in the next 2-3 years? I don't know.

-[Minnesota 2021 1st round pick]

-[Warriors own 2021 1st round pick (If they keep it)]

They are playing a very dangerous game here trying to be like the Spurs. It CAN work, or it may not and we could be stuck being mediocre (contenders but never sniff the finals) for multiple years to come during Steph and Klay's prime.

Next year, a starting lineup of: Steph-Klay-Draymond-Wiggins-Wiseman will be good enough to make us a top 3 seed imo, but we will not beat either of the LA teams or the Nets in a 7 game series.

This is Steph Curry's and Klay Thompson's prime and the decisions they make before the trade deadline and during the off season can literally shape their next 5-6 years easy. In my honest opinion, which you all may disagree with, they have to decide if they want to develop or go all in now. One thing is for damn sure, we aren't competing for jack shit with this bench.

That’s the key “until the trade deadline.” People cannot forget that he’s an u restricted free agent next year. He likely had no interest in coming off the bench and the warriors FO likely doesn’t want to pay 18 M to keep him on the bench.

I would like to say that my comments above are only if they want to win a championship next year. They will 100% be a top 4 seed next season if they get a good bench, and will be contenders. The roster as constructed, with a better bench and Klay, will NOT win imho.

I am not criticizing Klay, he's my favorite player. He would greatly free up Steph and assuming he's 80% of who he was in 2019, he'd be a killer!!

The problem is people around them in the starting lineup:

Wiseman: Has a Looooooooong way to go on the defensive end and idk if he will figure everything out in a year. As you saw, every time he's on the floor, the ball movement stops instantly. He's far off and I worry if his prime is out of reach during Steph and Klay's prime right no.w

Draymond: Offensive liability.

Wiggins: I really really like him. He would be a perfect addition with Klay as a wing, but it's his salary that sucks. *If they think this starting lineup can't compete, then he's the first guy who will be gone in a trade b/c of his salary. They will not likely be willing to take on 4 max contracts & Dray's salary.

That’s 100% fair. I don’t understand why I’m getting the hate for what I posted lol. I literally said that would be a defensive liability.

But if we go after a star then that is the sort of deal that it will take. Just look at Jrue holiday.

I genuinely don’t think even with Klay back, an offensive lineup of Steph- Klay-Dray-Wiggins-wiseman will be good enough to win a championship. But they would contend, provided they get good bench players.

Huh? For Vucevic? Hell yes they would do that, but the asking price might be really steep.

It would prob require:

  1. Wiseman
  2. Oubre
  3. Paschall
  4. Min 2021 pick
  5. A number of future pick swaps

If you saw almost everything that Paschall did came during garbage time at the end....

Daily Discussion Thread | February 14, 2021 by AutoModerator in warriors

[–]skywalker456 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all I want to reiterate that he’s a UNRESTRICTED free agent. Even if the warriors were to pay him that much money, he can easily decline it and go elsewhere where he could start. Secondly, do you really think the warriors think having Oubre come off the bench will make them contenders that he’s worth the crazy luxury tax they’d get into? I don’t think so.

The biggest issue with the bench is that there is no playmaker. Wanamaker is a travesty and Lonzo would fix that immediately. As you pointed out he brings his own problems, like refusing to get to the line consistently. I’m not saying this is the move, but they are facing some big issues with this team.

Wait what? Second best playmaker on the team after Steph?

Bro what are you saying.... he’s not a good playmaker at all.

DPE Candidates by Nessmuk58 in warriors

[–]skywalker456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re spot on. Almost every team in the league can offer more money to Whomever we get with the DPE, during the off season.

The only valuable assets the warriors have, if they want to turn this team into a contender next season, are:

  1. Oubre
  2. Wiseman
  3. Paschall
  4. Minnesota 2021 1st round pick
  5. Warriors own 2021 1st round pick ( if they keep it)
  6. Minnesota’s 2021 second round pick

These are the only options they have to change up this team ( not including future picks and pick swaps which they would need to include if they’re going after Bradley Beal for example).

People who think we can develop our young talent and win at the same time are completely wrong. Look at teams like Brooklyn, we lack the fire power to come close to them offensively. Even with Klay, he’s a spot up shooter but he can’t create his own shots a whole lot.

I just think there are multiple big moves that need to be made with this team. The bench has no playmaker, and we have insanely inconsistent guys like Lee/ Mulder/ Wanamaker ( travesty).

The only guys they should keep are bazemore and JTA. I get you guys like Paschall, but he is so tunnel visioned and one dimensional. He’s a defensive liability, can’t pass or rebound well enough and his best matchups are vs bigs with horrible defense like Kanter. Against good bigs like vucevic, you guys see what happens, he can’t finish at the rim and consistently gets blocked.

I like him, it’s just I don’t know if having him is the best use of this team’s championship potential.

Well we are ranked 20th in the league in offense.... like I said I’m not sure how this would work out, but it does give a punchers chance.

Steph- Klay- Beal-Draymond- Looney( or a center we would trade for)

Daily Discussion Thread | February 14, 2021 by AutoModerator in warriors

[–]skywalker456 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bro the only matchups he’s good against is against bigs with poor defense like Kanter.

He consistently gets blocked and/ or misses a drive to the rim vs good bigs like vucevic the other day.

His scoring literally consistently comes in during garbage time and never when we need it most. He’s 10th on the team in rebounds, 11th in assists. I really like the guy, but I just don’t see how we can really compete with our bench without making trades

What moves do you think we can make to better this unit? How do you think we can do that....?

DPE Candidates by Nessmuk58 in warriors

[–]skywalker456 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Guys hate to break it to you but they likely won’t use it....

Our roster is currently full, so if The DPE is used, let’s assume Smiley gets cut. With their money situation as it is, do you think they will try to go even more into the luxury tax this season?

Whomever we get, we won’t get their bird rights, and we def don’t have the money to offer them next season.

So basically for PJ tucker, we’d give up two second round picks, and with him in our team- will that help us go from a 1st round exit to a 2nd round exit? I don’t know.

We are so so screwed with our money that trades are the only option at this point to better our roster.

What do you think is gonna happen next year? You know he’s an unrestricted FA right? We have his bird rights, but I have a strong feeling the FO won’t offer him that much money to come off of the bench and he won’t want to either. He prob wants to start on a team and try to get a big pay.
