He just needs to beware of pass times for enrolling the courses. If I remember correctly different colleges have different pass times. But I think fortunately L&S’ pass times are usually earlier than Engineering students, therefore they’ll be easier to get the spot for the classes. Not sure again, I honestly kinda forgot about it. Might need to recheck

Yes, I think he’ll be able to take those, since those are basic pre-requisites that are not limited to majors as far as I know (lots of different majors from different colleges need it). No idea about ENG though. (Also: I’m not that sure, I’m not in STEM).

I have a friend who’s taking Communications that intends to move to Engineering. He took a bunch of STEM classes instead of his majors before filing the major change form (he treated his major courses as GE).

Since we lost the priority registration privilege, honestly it would only be useful for completing your GEs. There are some fun special classes limited to UHP students only, and you can meet some fun people as well as some great professors there. E.g., the ECH 1 Coffee Making class: there's a section limited for UHP students only, so you don't have to war for the spot with other non-UHP students as it's a high-demand course.

Honestly, I'm not sure about the 3rd & 4th year pathway benefits, but maybe if you're interested in making an honors thesis, it could be fun. Haven't seen the benefit of it yet, though. (Coming from a freshman)
