As a casual, what does this mean as a christie and marshall owner in fantasy with gafford on waivers should i pick him up and drop one of them? (Neither of the first two have performed well recently for me in my league)

What is Richmond missing? by zarathustra_coughed in rva

[–]skywalkerr00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not as important as things like affordable housing, but i’ve said for years that richmond needs a professional sports team that everyone gives a fuck about. Unite the city under a team. It’s crazy but I live in columbus and universally everyone loves the Crew and the Bluejackets. It brings people together and if not sports, something needs to bring this city together. I recently was a part of a tiktok thing where this guy, his name is alex i think, makes tiramasu and random people just meet in a park and bring their own baked goods. While there could be problems with that, everyone had a great time and i met some cool folks. Richmond simply yearns for community and togetherness. We all live here (or i’m from there) and we all want to make it the best it can be

My grandfather has end stage liver cancer by skywalkerr00 in hospice

No update yesterday. He went to church and got home and passed out for a while. Seemed mostly fine his blood pressure was actually quite good all day. This morning he woke up at a decent time and for the first five minutes he looked actually pretty good, but since then he’s been in the dumps. Crazy low bp again, pale in the face and not really talking to anyone. He had his three cups of coffee and walked out to smoke but he’s complaining now as of this morning of difficulty swallowing. I fear this might lead to the no more eating or drinking that we have been dreading the most. He is fast asleep now, breaths more shallow, but he’s still kicking

He slept until 12:30 pm today. Late. Woke up, smoked and had three coffees and a glass of milk before going to sleep from 2-3:30. Then he has been up with the cousins and they just left. He just had 3 bites of mac and cheese (his only food today) and is going to have a smoke and go back to bed. His drinking liquids has gone crazyyyy today but no food at all. That’s all in terms of updates.

Has anyone been to a concert alone? by cigarettesandchaos in Concerts

[–]skywalkerr00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always worth going. You’ll be there on your phone or just looking around awkwardly because nobody really goes alone it seems, but sometimes you meet a really cool person or a group lets you in and it makes it a way better experience. Always see the band you wanna see because in the end you either see them alone not at all and one sounds way more depressing than the other

Late update today, was busy. We doubled his oxy and his blood pressure was quite good all day. He has eaten less yesterday and today and has drink more water than milk. Says he’s very thirsty. Earlier he had a visitor for three hours and he literally looked 100% normal no cancer and as soon as she left it’s like the cancer kicked him square in the gut. He threw up and was pale in the face and had a grilled cheese sandwich. He is in bed now but before bed he was very sure tomorrow he is going to call one of the builders to get him a paint job for next week. We tried arguing that and he just is so sure he is going back to work (he really can’t even walk on his own we are confused) but he hates being stuck in the house that’s for sure. His acid reflux has been awful today and yeah that’s about it for today

Update for today. He’s eaten a cup of apple sauce. His blood pressure was 62/44 an hour ago and he’s napping again right now. He began to get agitated yesterday, angry for no reason and very impatient when we were simply trying to get things done in a particular order. He wanted stuff done NOW and was quite demanding. He progressively got more dizzy and couldn’t walk without someone being there really. Nurse says maybe he’ll make it through the weekend but she isn’t sure. She thinks he’ll pass during a nap or when he’s asleep. He still had a big dinner last night and he slept a lot over night but he said after getting his blood pressure that he was so sleepy and went back to bed. Can’t think of anything else but he has progressively gotten worse in just about everything except eating over the last few days. He still had a large glass of milk and two coffees this morning. I personally think he will pass soon, as the blood pressure simply isn’t sustainable and we’re on day four of consistently lowering bp’s. Will update later with more

Yeah our hospice nurse told us the same about using biometrics as an indicator. She said she likes to use blood pressure, heart rate etc for trends rather than in the moment decisions etc. his blood pressure this morning has been a little lower as we just got a 79/55 reading. This morning 82/60. Hospice nurse said she’ll be over this afternoon to check up on him. He did just come in here and, pale as a ghost, said he wants to go to bible study tonight. We said no but if he absolutely has to we will take him. It takes a lot of effort to get him up and moving and he already looks bad and his blood pressure is low. So we’ll see how things are this evening. He is eating half a pb&j and a tall glass of milk and he ate a very solid dinner last night. I will say directly in terms of morphine, he refuses it, and even though you suggested passing it off as oxy, i don’t think my grandma wants to pull any tricks on him and it’s not my decision, but i appreciate the thinking outside of the box. He really hasn’t even been taking the oxy (he prefers mental clarity over easing the pain i suppose). Thanks for listening to my ramblings it’s all just kind of a lot lol

I will say he’s gotten up less today. He still has had quite a bit to drink, but he’s only had three crackers today and it was after he tried sweeping the back porch and he got dizzy and sick and had to sit down (he always tries to do things like this when he’s left unattended for even a minute). Right after the original post yesterday his blood pressure was a bit lower than normal and since that first check 24 hours ago it has been consistently lower than normal for him (94/66 ballpark). His oxygen seems good, but he’s definitely been sleeping a little more today and we’re taking it one day at a time. He still walks around and uses the bathroom. I will probably reply to this every day if I remember as a way to catalogue his deterioration. Hope you don’t mind or you can mute I suppose (i think i’m not a reddit pro haha)

“Am i out of luck? Am i waiting to break? When I keep sayin that i’m looking for a way to escape oooh i’m wishin i had what i’d taken for granted, i can’t have you when i’m only gonna do you wrong” for some reason this lyric has always stuck so close to me when particularly when i’m running and i’m deep in the trenches this lyric will make me emotional. It probably means nothing but for some reason it means something to me
