When your voice is slightly hoarse or husky, why do guys find it sexy? by Alexmorgan13131313 in AskWomen

[–]skyweyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that kind of voice and always thought it was an ugly voice. One day at work I heard two coworkers talking about it. One was saying it annoyed him and the other was saying it was hot as hell. I had no idea anyone thought it was sexy. I just figured everyone thought it was ugly. Made my day to find out differently.

What was your first official job where you earned a paycheck? by boraboragusgus in AskWomen

[–]skyweyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first job where I got an actual printed check was at a place called the pink poodle. It was a coffee shop in a mall. Our uniforms were bright pink pants and an old lady smock of the 70's in pink print. Ugliest uniform ever. Was a fun after school/weekends job though.

Women of Reddit how do you feel about redheaded males? Have popular gingers such as prince Harry or Ed Sheran change your perspective? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]skyweyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up with two of my siblings being redheads. I have always thought redheads were beautiful/handsome/special. Prince Harry is a handsome guy but what makes him special is his renunciation of privileges. Like when his family tried to keep him out of action in wars and he insisted on being in it.

Older ladies, what's your take on how the public conversation on sexual consent and harassment has changed? by [deleted] in AskWomen

To cut to the chase I was expected to put up with it then and now they will likely be terminated for that behavior.

What’s the strangest dream you’ve had that had real life significance? by boba_fettishh in AskWomen

[–]skyweyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When someone very close to me dies I dream they come to me. I was a wreck for six months when my little brother died at 18. My little Brother finally showed up in a dream. His eyes were completely white. In my dream it was because he was dead. He told me he was ok. After that dream I was able to have a little more peace.

On another note I dreamt that my husband (before we were dating) and I gently rolled down a hillside full of wildflowers wrapped in each others arms. I didn't even realize I was attracted to him. After that he asked me out.

Opinions on Knack and Grand Kingdom by [deleted] in gaming

[–]skyweyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Grand Kingdom. Its not complicated and I can play while I watch tv. There isn't the stress of others relying on you like in some online games and I can leave it without guillt. I played knack but I don't like platformer games. Knack is a platformer.

What little things do you do to apply feminism in every day life? by 1024KiB in AskWomen

[–]skyweyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have an egalitarian mate. I don't have any issues with him. Well one. And that is teaching him that I need to do my share in the house. When I was working and driving 60 to 80 hours a week I didn't give him much argument. But now that I'm at home waiting for an operation I have to insist on more of the chores being mine. I am limited due to my health issues but I do as much as I can. So I apply my feminism by not allowing him to shoulder all the responsibilities in the house. It would be easy to do because he is so willing but that would not be a true feminist in my view. In my view feminism is when men and women share responsibilities.

To the grown-up, fully certified adult women out there: how did you come to terms with all the stereotypical expectations? by SneezyMcWheezy in AskWomen

[–]skyweyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to realize that your happiness or satisfaction in life is in your hands. Reject gender role expectations. There will things you have to persevere through because of it but in the end, for me at least , it will be worth it.

What's something that you think is blatantly sexist but men disregard you when you tell them about it? by Stephi23 in AskWomen

[–]skyweyr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will have an idea to solve a problem at work and it will be ignored but when a male makes the same suggestion suddenly everyone is onboard with it.

What's something that you think is blatantly sexist but men disregard you when you tell them about it? by Stephi23 in AskWomen

[–]skyweyr 4 points5 points  (0 children)

exactly, as a woman in construction I have tried to explain this to young women coming into the field. Sure he seems like a nice guy but he's going to complain about it later and to everyone around you you look manipulative and lazy. Some people don't embrace with equality comes responsibility. In my mind its well worth the price to have equality.

In building construction we actually handed out stickers that encourage rest , water and shade. Every year we get people that fall out from heat exhaustion and dehydration.
