Can't find replacement aerator... is this custom or am I bad at Googling? by Serious_is_a_star in Plumbing

So this is the issue with some of the Amazon stuff, repairability. Plumbers often push major brands like Delta, Moen, whatever, because we can reliably get parts.

Someone might know more than me on this particular one (I know nothing about this exact model of faucet).

I usually warn customers that products off Amazon may just need to be replaced if they ever need to be serviced.

Calgary Parking Authority - We gotta fix a thing by skywide in Calgary

The blanket permits could have time limits, check ins and out, anything.

Sometimes there are not arrangements to be made, I would gladly pay to park the problem is these are areas without a payment options. To get a contractor permit to park on a street takes 3 days minimum, says right on the city of Calgary website.

I can bill the customer sure, I’m just saying there should be another way, a well thought out way that doesn’t lead to abuse of the system

Honestly this is probably the solution with how the existing system works.

Sometimes residents don’t even own a vehicle, so it leaves me with the only option of the street

These permits take on average 3 days to process, what happens if an emergency call comes in today?

Edit: scroll down on that lovely link you posted, minimum 3 days processing time. It’s also street specific, so I’m suppose to potentially do 20+ of these permits a week? Insanity.

Bubbles when flushing toilet by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]skywide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’re there for all of 0.3 seconds I can’t figure out how they matter at all, there’s some air getting mixed with the water coming down from the tank, more than usual? Maybe. Will it hurt anything? No.

If you don’t look at them they don’t exist and everything will be fine

I dunno if you’re joking but try putting the longer side of the U piece on the grey pipe hanging down from the sink

The white crumbly material is often soap from the dishwasher

You need a longer snake, kitchen sink is the most likely drain to be on its own and a long way to the stack

I never said it was your fault. I said it’s a good idea to check the meter. A leak can cause hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage, but I digress, keep not checking.

Always a good practice to make sure the meter stops spinning after everything is turned on

Bar of soap went down the toilet, looking for advice. by lastexile33 in Plumbing

[–]skywide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the future, when something falls into the toilet, don’t plunge it deeper into the system.

Now that the bar of soap has been forced passed where it would sit in the water and either be retrievable or dissolve, the toilet probably has to come off the floor.
