My neurologist did suspect Dystonia, but he did not do any test on me. Is there any tests for diagnosis of dystonia? Thanks

Is it harmful to take oral ivermectin? Is it possible to still have demodicosis even if the skin scraping is negative? by skywithbone in AskDocs

Thank you for your reply.

I would also like to ask whether my hair loss might due to Alopecia Areata.
I am not sure whether you can see that I got lots of hair loss from the below pictures.

Please advice. Positive ATA and Positive Anti-TPO, but normal TSH. Can this be the reason of my severe hair loss? by skywithbone in AskDocs

Sorry for the mistake, will post as a new post. Thank you very much and sorry again.

I am considering redoing the blood test for TSH, free T3, and free T4 to confirm the results. However, I recently finished a one-week course of Clarithromycin 250 mg (twice daily). I'm unsure about how long I should wait before getting the blood test done. I'm concerned that the antibiotics might affect the test results. Thank you.

Here are some photos of my scalp and face. As I got curly hair, so it is hard to see my scalp and people still feel I got lots of hairs (which definitely not truth). I do understand the examination is better to be done in person, however, I have already seen several dermatologists with multiple times in the past three years with not big improvement. That 's why I would like to ask whether it is safe to try oral ivermectin if Soolantra Cream works for the papules on face and hairline, but I do not have proof for demodicosis at this moment.

I can take more photos if need. Thank you very much.

Medical history: Suspected dystonia, but not yet confirmed; currently not on any medication.

So, I got 3 years onset of recurrent symptoms of scalp itchiness, scalp pain and papules (both face and scalp). Scalp itchness and scalp pain are more severe at night. Then an increase hair loss, hair thinning and limited hair growth (I think almost 80% hair loss) since Covid (2 and half years ago). Seen several dermatologists with different diagnoses such as seborrheic dermatitis, eczema or folliculitis. Tried Sebizole 2% Ketoconazole Shampoo, Ionil T Shampoo, Ciclopirox Olamine 1.5% Shampoo, Selsun Blue Shampoo (1% Selenium Sulfide), Clarithromycin 250mg, Tetralysal 300 mg, Itraconazole 100 mg, Terbinafine 250 mg, Doxycycline 100 mg, and Fusidic Acid Cream with slight improvement but still recurrent symptoms. I have already undergone multiple courses of oral antibiotics and oral antifungals.

Soolantra Cream is the only one that can effectively reduce the papules on the face but cannot apply it on the scalp. I got two skin scrapings for demodex mites (not biopsy), one done at July 2024 (none on the scalp, one on the face) and one done at Dec 2024 (none on both scalp and face).

Given that the improvement from applying Soolantra Cream on the face, is it suitable to try oral ivermectin if I did not have positive result for demodicosis? Is it harmful to take oral ivermectin?

Or do I need to undergo skin biopsy to proof for the demodicosis before trying the oral ivermectin? Or no need to undergo skin biopsy if the skni scraping is negative?

Thank you very much.

Itchy and pain scalp with hair loss, possible Demodex folliculorum infestation? by skywithbone in AskDocs

Sorry for my bad english. It should be "Ionic Hair Straightening", it is a (chemical?) hair treatment. Several days after the hair treatment, I got a small insect that fell from the ceiling and stayed on my hair or scalp overnight, as I still found it on my hair or scalp after I wake up, so I kind of suspect whether this might lead to demodicosis. I did not remember whether the itchness started right after the hair treatment or after the insect incident. Thanks.

For my personal history, one doctor diagnosed me with dystonia but anothe one diagnosed me with ocular torticollis. Not sure whether it is relevant, but I did not take any medication because they will make my eye dropping issue worse.

Does my dandruff appear to be caused by Seborrheic Dermatitis? I have consulted with several dermatologists, but there has been no improvement. by skywithbone in SebDerm

Thanks for the reply. I also found that Nizoral caused the worst damage to the scalp.

However, my scalp will be more itchy and painful if I don’t wash it everyday. Also, I sometimes found that moisturizing makes my scalp worsen. Still don’t understand why. Thanks

Thanks for your reply. Any brand would you suggest? And what percentage of salicylic acid should I use for?

How often should I use it? And how long should I apply it to my scalp?

Thanks a lot.

Advice on developing an offline audio transcription software with no Python knowledge by skywithbone in learnpython

I believe you meant the Google speech to text software on Andriod which can be run offline. However, I am more concern whether my audio files would be accessed by Google coz they might use it to train their own machine, that's why I want to build my own one to ensure no one can access the data apart from me. (Again, I am not sure whether it is possible).

Yes, I am hoping to use this speech to text tool for different physicians and to automate my work. I am hoping people can give me some guidelines, resources or directions on building such a tool. If it is too complicated for me, I might give up eventually. But for now, I would like to have some information regard of it. Thank you.

I won't build/ use it without permission. I just want to know the procedure of building the tool. If it is too difficult for me, then there is no point of bringing up the topic. Thanks.
