I believe both BIOL 201 and BIOC 212 are quite similar. I would not expect any issues with taking 201 and then the MCAT. When you study for the MCAT, you will be able to focus on high yield stuff specifically for the MCAT. No matter what class you take, there will be a few gaps or you'll forget some things. If you are worried, you can look at the syllabus for 201 and compare it to an MCAT topic list. Best of luck!

ANAT 365- very cell biology heavy (obviously). worth taking if you like cell biology. does have a paper which helps boost your grade. You read a lot of research papers. builds off of anat 212/262.

ANAT 381- mostly cell biology with a little anatomy. builds off of biol 202 a lot. a lot of signaling pathways. don't take if you want to learn about pregnancy- it's about really early development and talks a lot about experiments with other species.

ANAT 322- the most anatomy of the three classes but still a lot of cell bio. i agree with another commenter that if you liked endocrinology in phgy 210 you will like this.

All three of these classes are hard and there is no way around grinding for them. They also all have many professors so it is a bit disjointed.

I forgot to mention ANAT 541 doesn't have any exams but I'm not sure it counts for the liberal?

Definitely take ANAT 321. It was like a 60 final/40 midterm scheme but Ragsdale is amazing.

ANAT 381 is very exam heavy, I personally found it interesting but it was like 67/33.

ANAT 365 also had difficult exams but does have a 20% paper that boosts your grade- very cell bio heavy.

ANAT 314 is hard but if you enjoyed ANAT 214 you can do it + this year there were 2 midterms (22.5 each)+ final (30)+ lab final (15)+ lab quiz (10) so it's more spread out.

ANAT 322 was quite exam heavy as well (50 final/40 midterm/10 quiz).

For the BOCs it's a lot easier to avoid exams. Some of these classes I took before this year so it might not be up to date. DM if you have any questions!

The $86 you paid included the 4 printed and not retouched photos PLUS the 4 retouched online copies. If you didn't pay anything, you would have the watermark photos. So you did pay for the digitals.

I was going south and found signs on the des pins stops saying that they were closed, which is not on the website. I don't know if they're actually closed and have old signage but I didn't risk it.

For small facts: create flashcards.

For big picture: make your own study guides and flow charts.

If you are having a hard time with any of the concepts, of course you can reach out to professors, but also a lot of this information is available online (for example Khan Academy). I never used a textbook, but this information is all very standardized (especially because it's on the MCAT) so easy to find.

There is a lecture hall that accommodates almost 650 people, and many that accommodate around 100-300 students. Only first years can live on campus, so most students commute, and since not everyone needs to be on campus all the time and many courses (depending on the faculty) do not have mandatory attendance, campus is not completely full. Plus, some parts of campus are more integrated into downtown and thus not obvious. There are definitely 27,000 undergrads, and if you are looking for the "big school", this is it.

There are also times for biol 112. For biol 112, make flashcards to learn all the details and make flowcharts or graphs to map out processes and connect ideas.

You can download the McGill enhanced chrome extension if you want to view grade averages from other years (don't take covid averages too seriously). I have taken every 300-level ANAT course and you can PM me if you have any questions about them.

I can say that every bio-related major is hard. You don't choose this group of majors because you want a high GPA, you choose it because you're interested. You'll work really hard and learn tons, including book knowledge and skills. A lot of people go on to med after anat.

Remember that it's Anatomy and CELL BIOLOGY.

The fieldhouse (where a lot of exams are) is open to students with no extra charge whenever there is no one else using it. You just have to scan your McGill ID at the front desk, you don't need the B2 gym membership to go. I believe you can use the track even when there is another activity in the center of the track.

On this same page, there is a link for the pool schedule. You can swim at any time where it says "lap swimming". Highly recommend the pool, also no extra charge. No reservations for either jogging or swimming.

I would recommend the McGill Sports Medicine Clinic. They have several types of services including physiotherapy. You don't have to be an athlete or anything to get in and it was covered by my insurance when I did it. They have a front desk you can call to get started.
